"When you want a steak that is spiced and cooked to perfection in a relaxed atmosphere you can't get at the chains, you need to plan a visit to Bovine. The service was the best. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of all menu items and his recommendation of the Mac and cheese was spot on. Will be back when I'm in the area"
"This is a place we've driven past a number of times on trips from Dallas to Galveston, and it always reminds me of our first puppy, who was coincidentally named Bubba. This time, we finally decided to stop for an early dinner and now we regret waiting this long. Bubba's is (my idea of) a traditional BBQ joint - order on the line, choose your sides, pay the bill, and find a table. If you order steaks, you just tell the cashier which two sides (or a baked potato) you would like, pay up and it is all delivered to your table. Sodas are self-serve - although one of the staff asked if I wanted a refill and got it for me, which was appreciated. Bubba's obviously caters to locals (even though it's on I-45) because we were recognized as being first-timers. (Staring blankly at the menu may have been a hint.) We had multiple staff check on us during the meal. It was an impressive dinner. The staff was very helpful (since we were rookies), and the food was very, very good. We both ordered Cowboy Ribeyes. I enjoyed my baked potato and my wife enjoyed her green beans and french fries. It was so good, we need to go back to try the BBQ next. When we got in the car to finish the drive home, we realized it's only about forty miles from our house. We may not wait until our next trip to Galveston to return. Highly recommended."
"I was excited to find that Tim Love had a little hidden gem off the square in Denton, so I quickly made reservations for my finance's birthday dinner. From the moment we walked in the door, they made us both feel so welcomed and special. They immediately wished him a happy birthday without prompting which confirmed that they had read my notes in our reservation. We started with a cocktail made to order at the bar until time for our reservation. The bartender did an excellent job of recommending the perfect whiskey. Once we were seated, our server Ryan took excellent care of us. She thoughtfully asked about our wine preferences and made an awesome recommendation. Then, she walked us through the menu and clearly explained how the courses would be timed and prepared. And, the manager David came by several times to check on us but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal. We had the grilled oysters to start, and what a way to kick off the meal. The flavor pairing of lime, serrano and manchego cheese were so good. Then, we shared the butter lettuce salad which the kitchen thoughtfully split. They have really found a way to elevate their version of a wedge with the dressing, lardons and pepitas. Then, we both had the beef tenderloin which had been thoughtful prepared, seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was so tender that we didn't even need our steak knives. Finally, we finished our meal with the whiskey carmel, bacon sundae. Just Wow!!!I am always surprised by the food scene in Denton, but our meal rivaled some of the best dining experiences that we've had anywhere in the world."
"I never thought I would find BBQ worse than Dickies. Well I have. At the corner or highway 287 and Walnut Grove sits a Sonic, Texas Best Smokehouse, Pistol & Pearls and a Shell all rolled into one building. Decided to have some ribs for lunch and I'm sorry I did. This was the most disgusting ribs that I have ever had. Sides were canned and doctored up a bit. Slaw was ok. The best thing I had was the ice water. Keep driving. Don't stop. Save yourselves. There is way too many good bbq joints in Texas. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star."
"Once we finally made it to this location, the food remained superior, as we've found all over our country at TX Roadhouses. The outstanding Service was appreciated. Our server, Jesse, was The Best! YELP-just get the DIRECTIONS correct on your site please!"
"Jaquelle is the best bartender by far since I have been coming here to Fire Oak Grill for years. Very friendly and accommodating. Celebrating my best friend's birthday and I have the most wonderful Salmon dish. It was obviously pan seared in butter. It had the most wonderful incrusted butter crispness to it. I enjoyed every bite and wanted to lick the plate. The dessert was excellent- Creme Brulee! Enough said Please try them."
"I recently went to this restaurant with my leadership team from work and I really enjoyed my meal. This restaurant was unique, It was really dark inside and the menus were huge for how reason. I got a good laugh out of it with my team. We had calamari as a starter and it was not good, it was a bit too chewy for my liking. I ordered the salmon entree with mashed potatoes and cream spinach. I absolutely loved it! It was cooked perfect and tasted delicious to me. My coworkers ordered the braised short rib and did not enjoy it. They said they were cooked too long and the food was bland. The drinks were just ok, I ordered an espresso martini and it was not bad but I would recommend ordering something that you normally get that's not on their cocktail drink menu.Overall, I would say that this restaurant is good for a couples dinner date but I would choose another place if coming with a larger party."
"Stopped by on a Monday night during a camping trip to Cleburne State Park. It was 105 that day, so we dragged in like a bunch of hot hillbillies. There is a small bar as you enter the building, and dining is on the left. There is also a patio, but 105 degrees and and patio aren't combinations we like to entertain. Service was a little slow, but our waitress was nice. We ordered the porkchops with grilled veggies and a salad; a cheeseburger; a small catfish platter; and the shrimp scampi pasta. Everything was delicious except the shrimp pasta. No flavor at all on this one. I also didn't care much for the grilled vegetables because they lacked any sort of seasoning and were very oily. However, the pork chops are definitely a must try and the burger was excellent!! Ranch is legit (homemade) so that was a plus for us as well!Would definitely return!"
"In the area from out of town on our anniversary, and found this amazing place for brunch. First of all hopefully you get Mandy as your server, she is fabulous! I had the carne asada omelette, the streak was grilled to perfection and the egg was very fluffy. Paired with the cheese and peppers it was delicious! My wife got the chicken schnitzel special, all I can say is I hope this gets added to the menu! We also had a side of biscuits with the fig jam, I wanted a bottle of that jam. Everything here is scratch made and it shows. We sat out on the patio with the beer tap waterfall, and fireplace, it was a perfect setting for a lovely brunch with my wife."
"Everything about the food here is amazing. My wife and I started with a wedge salad (we shared and they brought it out on separate plates in a beautiful presentation). We ordered Rogge's battle axe to share and it was the best tomahawk steak we've ever had. The dry age made everything so tender. The fat rendered like butter and I had no bites that were grisly or chewy like I typically do with this cut of meat. It was worth every penny. Between us and another couple we shared 4 sides (the sides are large enough to share between 2-3 people each) we got macaroni casserole, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and the elote-style corn. All were fantastic but the brussel sprouts were surprisingly my favorite- excellent flavor and crunch. We had the triple layer chocolate cake which was also good but nothing to write home about. We spent about $270 for all the food listed and a 20% tip which was not bad in my opinion. It's a nice steakhouse with some of the best steak I've ever had. We don't drink alcohol and had water for drinks, so it will be significantly more if you don't share like we did. We had sides still lingering after the meal because we were all really full. We weren't trying to scrimp snd save - we just wanted to try a lot from their menu and knew we'd be too full if we didn't. The tomahawk is definitely big enough to share. The restaurant itself seemed in an odd location (I don't live in Dallas so I can't confirm) but it was amongst industrial buildings. The inside immediately makes you forget about its physical location- there is some amazing decor including a mini submarine fish tank that is legitimately one of the coolest fish tanks I've seen. The bathrooms (for men) have mouth wash, floss, even a disposable razor if needed. Very cool. If I'm in Dallas again looking for an amazing steakhouse- this would be it. A benefit here is the free and readily available self parking. Downtown is always a mess for parking unless you use valet."

We've probably eaten here about a dozen times. It's been great food and great service every time! They've got enough variety on their menu so there's something for everyone. Highly recommended.

While it has been open for a while, we just made our first visit to Bovine. Clearly, it has a wide selection of steaks and adds, but on this trip we went for other items. But, first it has great decor. Up front are a few tables and the bar. Another seating area is in the back and that is where we were seated. It was the slow time of the afternoon and only a few customers were there. The bar area is fairly small so, and it's just a guess, would get pretty cramped if it got busy. But, crowded bars can be fun!Like anything on Main in Midlothian parking can be a hassle, but we were there early. Also there is parking in the back and a convenient rear entry way.The area where we were seated is away from the bar and nice simple tables.Appetizer was the Chips and Salsa. It was the only thing we were not impressed with. We would either skip appetizers or try something else.We had one of the specials.. 2 small chicken breast with roasted tomatoes and topped with mozzarella cheese. Comes with one side and with this entree we had a loaded baked potato. Very good choice. Second order was the chicken fried steak and onion rings as the side. Again, just fantastic and the pepper gravy was perfect. With an iced tea the bill was only $45 before tip. And we could have saved a few bucks on that without the chips.Alex was our host and did a great job. I highly recommend Bovine and look forward to having one of their steaks.

Had a wonderful time here with my dad. The ambience was excellent as soon as we walked in. It was warm and cozy, moody lighting. Wish we were there when there was live music. I'm sure that would've been the icing on the cake! Katie, our server, was excellent. She had a lot of great recommendations, like the buffalo cauliflower and elk sliders. Both were appetizing and packed a lot of flavor. The entree, beef tenderloin, was pretty good. The "crust" tasted a bit burnt. I didn't like the Demi-glace on top, but that's a preference. I'd much prefer the beef tenderloin al a Carte. I ordered medium rare, was closer to the rare side. Two of the asparagus didn't have the hard part of the stalk trimmed off, so I had to spit that out. The hash under the steak was yummy. My dad ordered the same and his was extremely rare. We asked Katie to bring it back to cook it more; when she brought it back it looked exactly the same. He also didn't care for the Demi-glace. The mac and cheese was as forgettable. Very bland. I liked the noodle choice as it held the sauce well, and the baked topping added a nice texture difference. Wouldn't order again. The crispy potato side was delicious. I could've ordered that with the sliders and buffalo cauliflower and I would've been very satisfied. I'd like to try Queenie's again with a different entree and skip the mac and cheese. The service was outstanding, from Katie to the manager that came to speak to the table. The drinks were good as well. The food was pretty good.

This was a great find for my wife and me on a Friday night after flying in to DFW from San Luis Obispo, CA.. A great wine list with some of our California Central Coast favorites, we chose the Austin Hope Cab. The food was really spectacular, started with the bruschetta special that was brisket with goat cheese and tomato with a touch of cranberry, really unexpected and delicious. We shared the Fire Oak Salad, which was great, the balsamic vinaigrette was fabulous. My wife got the 6 oz. sous vide filet, which was so tender and perfectly done, while I got the 14 oz. ribeye which was also done perfectly, I love a rare steak in California, but have found in Texas, rare is a bit more rare that I would normally do, but the chef did an in-between rare and medium rare when I asked and it couldn't have been better. The seasoning was better than I've had on a steak ever while dining out. We usually don't get steaks dining out because we love how we do them at home, but this was a delight. We topped it off with their crème brûlée, which was a creamy masterpiece. I've been on a quest for the best crème brûlée for 30 years and this one is at the top of my list. We had a really enjoyable time chatting with staff and eventually the owner. Such nice folks. If you're near Weatherford, this is an experience you shouldn't pass up!

"Very good! It's nice to have an upscale local spot. With that said the price is surprisingly fair. Our servers name was Eric and he was fantastic. Great cocktails, the spinach artichoke dip is fantastic. We both had the filet which was perfect. Good affordable kids menu so next time we will bring the family. Shop local!"
"First time at this steakhouse and have to say by far the best I've been too. The service from the employees from just walking in were awesome, very welcoming. The appetizers, to the entree was delicious. Also had corn, and Mac cheese did not get a picture. The restaurant was very nice/elegant. Loved it. Def will be going back"
"The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was everything that you expect a steakhouse to be. The waiters were very thorough without being intrusive."
"Food was pricy but you get what you pay for and we got far more in quality, service and ambiance than we paid for. We will be going back and we are all looking forward to it. Thanks for the quality of food and friendliness of staff that was shown to us on our first time visit. As I said, we will be back!"
"It is a relatively new place. The decor is beautiful and service is very nice.My steak is cooked to perfection.Martini is refreshing and they even prepared card and gift for my friend as it is her birthday. No need to mention the complimentary cake with a fancy candle!"
"This was the highlight of our trip to Texas! We were meeting a friend who lives in Burkbennet and this was a good halfway point between there and Dallas to meet. And it was very Texas! Decatur is a really cute small town, there wasn't much open on Sunday but I would leave time to walk around if visiting. The service was incredible, our drinks were consistently refilled without ever feeling intrusive. The menu is simple but I would love to be able to try more! I loved the flavored butter on my filet. The vegetables were very fresh, definitely not canned. I wish I had gotten the squash side, it looked amazing! The wedge salad is a very good size, most dishes come with 2 sides and a roll. I had the pecan pie that came with homemade whipped cream for dessert. This place would be a reason for me to go back to Texas! It was the only place we found that had actual soul to it (most of our time was spent in Dallas suburbs)."
"This establishment has been on my radar for 15 years. In an effort to try all the best steakhouses in Dallas I finally came around to Nick and Sam's. Being that my reservation was scheduled upon opening at 5:00 PM on a Sunday, I was given a great valet parking spot by a generous valet staff named Jeff, thanks Jeff! This place is very very classy. They already had it adorned with Christmas decorations and playing good ol' Sinatra in the background. The main dining area is extremely dark, I think it's the darkest restaurant I've been to as I had trouble seeing the menu and eating my steak properly. They beat Tirelli's on darkness. We had the immense pleasure of being attended to by Remington. Remington is everything you would love and expect from a top end steakhouse. His manners and engagement were bar none the best service I've ever had and I don't say that lightly as I've eaten at many high end restaurants in Los Angeles and New York City and Remington blew them all away with his service. He served us a complimentary plate of caviar and all the fixings which was superb because that was a first for me. I had the crab cake as an appetizer - it was definitely not the best I've had, Republic bar and grilled in Galveston gets that honor - it was 'alright', a bit dry and did not have a ton of flavor. However the Iceberg salad we got was incredible. We customized it a little bit but it tasted just like my mother's BLT, and since she joined me this evening we had a blast reminiscing about her food and how close it tasted to her BLT. The bacon was yumtastic! For our main entree I got an off the menu tomahawk ribeye and mom got the prime aged ribeye. Unfortunately, the crust on my steak was just too much for me. It tasted burned and over powered the steak to the point I couldn't finish even after trying to cut off that portion of it. Other than that it tasted really good but I wish I had gone with a different preparation. My mother said her prime aged ribeye was one of the best she's ever had (my mom is someone who uses steak sauce, which of course they didn't have here so she had to eat it without, and she still enjoyed it so that's saying a lot). We had to finish it off with something sweet and we took a chance on the Banana Pudding Cheesecake. Not knowing what to expect we were extremely satisfied with it, it wasn't too sweet and came together very well. The best part of this experience was the service we received from Remington. It felt a bit like the opening of American Psycho. He brought out a steak board and went over the entire menu without a hiccup. Remember to tip your waiters well because they deserve it!!! So if the manager of Nick and Sam's is reading this please give our praise to Remington because he is without a doubt the best server we've ever had. Despite my steak having what tasted to me like a burnt crust I would come back to try a different cut. I'm not at all a picky person for what it's worth. The same cut at Bob's Steak and Chop House to me was a lot better. If you want a classy, romantic and best-in-service establishment you couldn't go wrong at Nick and Sam's. The live piano player towards the end really made it magical. Enjoy stranger."
"Really cozy spot! We've been looking for smash burgers and really glad we found Picone. Two smash patties with cheese, grilled onions and house sauce. The side parm potatoes were perfectly crispy and delicious. We'll definitely be back!"
"This us only the second time i have actually ate here and it's still good. This time i had the country fried chicken with cream gravy, a side of sauted mushrooms and steak fries. It was all so good with the mushrooms on top of the chicken. Yum. Sat at the bar this time and had a great time with Stephanie the bartender. Very helpful. The only thing i miss is the peanuts and peanut shells all over the floor."
"If you're looking for that country cooking that makes you are sitting around your grandmothers kitchen table, this is it. The building itself could use some updating but the service and food make up for it. Our lunch was a large party and they easily accommodated us and were stellar at keeping up with all our wants and needs. The food was hot and tasty. We ordered for the table chicharrones and salsa and I loved it. Great switch from the usual tortilla chips. I ordered the chicken fried chicken. Perfectly cooked and crispy. Will definitely return the next time I'm in Weatherford."
"Staff, food, desserts were all amazing. I also loved the entire vibe of the restaurant. This is a great alternative hole in the wall for a Brazilian Steakhouse dinner or lunch. Would recommend this restaurant!!"
"Great service! Food was avg!Probably should have gotten a steak, but alas Shrimp n Grits avg, spinach and artichoke dip bland not good, wedge salad was great and the bread was good too."
"For starters needs no introduction. Been around for a minute. Place was super cozy. Server was on point, super detailed. Appetizers were very flavorful. Had the prime rib eye. Was cooked perfectly added the butter something sauce. Amazing. Ordered the mashed potatoes as a side. Amazing flavor and consistency. Can't wait to make it back."
"Trying to get to this place took over 45 mins when it was suppose to be 5 mins. It has been one of the Hallmark Christmas places I've seen and apparently the entire city and travelers come out to see it. This night, there was a drone light show and the streets were filled, roads were blocked-- complete nightmare. I almost gave up, but there were people waiting for me at the restaurant and I finally arrived to the dedicated parking lot reserved for Dino's. When I get there, I head upstairs, very rustic and old steak house vibes. Wine was already served, so I get a glass poured. We chat, appetizers come out, and salads. Everything was very delicious. The main course, the steak was like butter. I ordered an old fashioned. Single ice cube, perfectly crafted. We had chocolate cake for dessert. Decadent, not too sweet. If I had this for my last meal, I'd be happy."
"The food was phenomenal!!! I had beef wellington for the 1st and WOW! They have set the bar! Dolan took care of us and he was very attentive and helpful. Well definitely be back! Ambiance was wonderful even the bathrooms were lovely lol! Great place amazing experience"
"This place is in the middle of nowhere!! And that is AWESOME!! The food is Texas all the way!! Big and tasty! The BBQ is IMPRESSIVE. We drove from Dallas to Glenn Rose just for the BBQ and as usual it did not disappointed!! Be careful when you order the burger, make sure you come here hungry, because the size of the burger can feed a small army of hobbits, or one middle size T-Rex!! And if you are a biker, this is the place to come grab a bite.Expect nothing fancy, the set up is classic old style western and that is perfect! I'll refer again, as soon as I can!!"
"Went there on a Saturday, for lunch. The place seems fancy and everyone greets you upon entry. To start, the beans were lacking flavor, I've had way better at other Brazilian spots. They rarely came by with the good cuts of meat. I kept getting the edges, which were salty as hell! Then, they promised lamb for both, but only brought out a sole tint piece of it. To say that the thing I most enjoyed was the salmon and meats and cheeses from the salad bar. Very disappointing, I expected better food."
"Great hospitality and the food was good quality. We like the fact that they prepare so many items table side. The owner works there, which makes a huge difference."
"...Every last family occasion? Right here. We made a reservation via OpenTable. If running early, the bar has got you for some sweet potato sticks, cocktail, tea or cappuccino. The venue has been a mainstay in the HP area for a minute. It has its regulars. Fine dining that's the next level experience. Maître d' and servers are personable and warm. Venue is intimate. There's a movie theater and designer stores within the plaza- for a pre-post meal promenade/adventure. Valet available and works for tips. Enjoy!"
"Had the chicken fried steak. The entire vibe was nice but casual, good drinks. No wait on a Saturday. It was all around a great experience. I recommend"
"What's that saying... "It's not the journey, but the destination." Best chicken fried steak I ever had and worth the 2 hour drive. The gravy is homemade and not that packaged stuff. It has that small town diner feel, seat your self if you find a clean empty table. One thing is be ready for the noise of sliding chairs when a group of diners leave. I tried many chicken fried steaks and this one literally melted in our mouth. Can you holy smokes that thing was damn good!"
"There's a reason The Classic Cafe has been around for so long. The cuisine is outstanding and so is the service. The ambiance is charming and romantic. We ordered the Thanksgiving take out dinner this year and it was amazing!! We will definitely do that again. Thank you to the owners and the entire team who made this holiday so special and stress free!"
"10/10 RECOMMENDED nice food amazing service I don't see how you can go wrong in such a good place"
