"smoky rose is definitely a neighborhood staple. i really like smoky rose, but there is a lot of inconsistency with the food. i've been to smoky rose a dozen times over about two years and i've seen so many changes. 1st the there used to be 3 tacos with a taco order, now there is only 2 tacos. but the same cost as 3 tacos. 2nd the loaded baked potatoes were gigantic, now they are about half the size the used to be... but the same price they have been. i also used to be able to sub the meat for mac n cheese. now they wont allow that substitution. and although i order the potato w/o meat nor a substitution... they still charge as if there is meat on the potato. absolutely absurd 3rd the dr. pepper cake is different every single time i visit. sometimes it's one layer.. sometimes it's two layers.. sometimes it's very rich.. sometimes it's dry. i would just like some consistency around these things. the potato & fish taco situation is what bothers me the most. the service is always chill. the servers get things out quickly and are attentive. i really like sitting outside in the evening, its a great atmosphere. i also, think they have live music sometimes... but ive never been able to catch it."
"I have one review posted that, because of the restaurant's response, went from 1 star to 2. Here's the thing - this restaurant requires two different and separate reviews. One, for a group of 4 or less. Quite another, for anything larger. This restaurant with it's seating and service is tiller made for small groups. You're treated well, you're cool and comfortable, the ambience (in the outer room) and very homey and pleasant. And the food is phenomenal. One of the managers, Angela, is an absolute gem and one of our favorite people in the industry. I think they have the best burgers in the DFW (a hotly contested category). They remind me of a blast from the past - Fuddruckers. For 4 people or less, they are a five star establishment."

"Yum! We need to come back to try more!Easy to find, plenty of parking, and many options on seating! Booths, tables, inside, and outside! The decor is warm and inviting! That matches the premium service we received! The menu has many different options! I ordered the meatloaf. Wow, melt in your mouth meatloaf! Great spices, great texture! The green beans and mashed potatoes were really good. Others at the table had fish and chips and chicken fried steak. Nothing but praise on those! Dessert? Oh my... I had the bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You want this!Price was very reasonable for taste, quality, service, and experience!"
"I met up with a colleague here and had the $12.99 sandwich plate with pulled pork, beans, and coleslaw. The place has some character and charm, and the food came out fast. The meal is certainly better and less greasy than many fast-food options, and around the same price. Nothing was great, nothing was bad."
"The staff here are so sweet and attentive and the food is fantastic! Get there early for their ribs before they run out, but all their meat is delicious. Highly recommend 10/10!"
"Last night I was here after a gf of mine and I got out of school, the food was omg greatness!! And the service was wonderful I will be telling everyone I know to go here I loved it so much and a plus was we could sit outside and eat and enjoy the night life air!"

Smokey Rose is Southern BBQ done right. The restaurant is located across from the Botanical garden, making it a great destination to stop by after a visit. The space feels like a large enclosed patio that's thoughtfully designed to create a fine dining experience that's homey and chill. We ordered a 1/2 board of meats which were some of the best cuts I've had. The turkey was surprisingly our table's favorite-- perfectly tender, seasoned and cooked. The short- rib was a close second, and brisket! They were all incredibly mouth-watering. We ordered a few small side dishes: fried okra, pinto beans, green beans, mash potatoes, and collard greens. They were all spot on. The collard greens could have went a tad less salty but the rest were perfect. Our waiter, Patrick was friendly and super attentive. There was also a live musician playing while we dinned which made for a beautiful Southern dining experience.

We had a great dinner at Wildwood. We sat at the bar and Michael and Carter took excellent care of us. To start, we got the dragon dip. We were both amazed at how crispy yet soft the pretzel bread was that was served with the dip. The dip itself was awesome, beer cheese but with a slight heat to it and the mustard seed balanced it nicely. Entree wise, I got the pecan crusted chicken which I would highly recommend. Looking around it seemed to be a popular choice. It didn't taste super nutty, but it made a delectable crust. The chicken cutlet itself very tender and well cooked. My husband and I both were very impressed by the mashed potatoes. Super creamy and rich, no lumps at all. Green beans were obviously very fresh and had a great snap to them. My husband got the weekend special, which was a barramundi with beurre blanc sauce. He very much enjoyed it, I got a bite as well and thought it was good. The beurre blanc sauce with lemon and capers was bright and made a great addition to the fish. I also got an old fashioned; which I would put probably in my top 3 I've ever had. Love that they have Buffalo trace on tap, and quite an expansive assortment of whiskeys available. Like I said, service was great. Water was kept filled and we were checked in with frequently. Would definitely come back!

Met up with friends for dinner at Wildwood Smoke Craft Whiskey! Drinks were great and food was amazing! Lots of options to choose from that are southern and also classic American while having an elevated menu. I have trouble saying no to bread and cheese, so we ordered the Dragon Dip. Perfect for sharing or eating on your own. I loved this white cheddar, mustard, and ale dip - especially when paired with the salted pretzel bread. For our entree, we chose the 2 for $25 surf and turf Tuesday night special. I had the Shrimp and Grits and my fiancé ordered the meatloaf. The shrimp and grits were flavorful, almost like a corn chowder with grits and with garlic shrimp. A little messy but delicious! Our server took care of our table throughout our visit and had no trouble with separate checks. Make sure you stop here for your next date night or dinner out!

I am not a big BBQ fan. However, when my friend said he has been coming here for 16 years, followed by they have not cleaned the pit since 1910:) I felt obliged Food: It was very tasty. They are purist though! Just the meat and bread. You can add pickles and jalapeno peppers to spice it up Service: not much to it! But it is perfect for the place. Very basic and originalValue: Good food at a good priceParking: ample parking outsideMy only issue was the restroom. I heard it used to be outside:) now it is inside but looks like it has not been touched since 1910:)Overall this is a gem of a place. My rating is what this place represents: part history, part tradition and part purity... worth checking out.

This review can be summed up in two words...THE RIBS!I took the first bite and immediately tried to calculate how often I could order these (although I live miles away). The ribs were hearty and meaty. The side dishes of potato salad, cole slaw, and beans were fantastic. The dill in the potato salad and cole slaw gave them the best savory flavor. I waited a long time to go to The Colony for Flatrock Smokehouse BBQ. However, I will not wait long to revisit.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good BBQ spot. I saw Winners and knew I had to stop by. I've eaten at the Winners in Plano since it opened and I've never had a bad experience. This location was really good, I ordered the 2 meat MVP and the food did not disappoint. The customer service was decent, I noticed some reviews mentioned that the customer service wasn't great but maybe management took whatever measures were necessary to fix the issues. I did not experience poor customer service on my visit and I will definitely be back. The only thing I did not like was that there was not a self service BBQ sauce station like the Plano location has. They included 2 small containers of BBQ sauce in the bag and it just wasn't enough.

Took my dad here for a fathers day lunch and luckily it wasn't to busy. The bbq was regularly priced and i ended up getting a pound of brisket and some links. All of it was delicious and split between the two of us. The bar is right inside the restaurant to make it easy to refill your cup. Definitely a good spot to check out in Texas live

"We wanted to choose a locally owned restaurant instead of a chain. The cashier was kind and professional. We ordered 2 plates. The meals included drinks, but they didn't have any low sugar options for drinks. No tea. Only water or high sugar options. It was around $35 for 2 people. The restaurant was clean. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. There was a young waiter who was very attentive and kind. He was actually too attentive, checking on us every few minutes. It was a bit annoying, but he had good intentions.Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good. We ordered sliced brisket. What we received was not sliced brisket. We each received a slab of brisket. It was about 50% fat on each of our orders. The little brisket that was there lacked seasoning. The sausage was ok, but also lacked flavor. The collared greens had a nice kick of spice, but they were so incredibly salty that they were hard to eat. The mac & cheese was different. I thought it was OK. My husband did not like it at all."
"Friends and I came here for lunch after our tour of the neighboring Globe Life Field. I ended up ordering the beef brisket, a serving of the original (not the jalapeño -- because I'm a delicate little flower when it comes to spice, haha) sausage, and a side of the Lockhart slaw (along with 3 slices of bread). I probably would have ordered a portion of the pulled pork as well - just to try it - but they didn't have any available at that time (a bit of a bummer, especially because they weren't super busy or anything). The sausage was probably my favorite part of the meal vs the brisket which seemed both overly fatty and had bark that seemed excessively burnt (with no real taste other than 'burnt'). The Lockhart slaw was okay, but I'd probably try the bleu cheese slaw next time. All around, just a very average meal. The service was friendly & the ambiance was inviting. I wasn't necessarily a huge fan of the large amount of butcher paper used to wrap individual meat orders, because, especially with bread slices inside the wrapping, it seemed a bit awkward to carry around (the wrapping came open easily). Also, as you're unwrapping everything, your table can become quite overwhelmed with everything and messy - especially as you're trying to share space with others who have their own food orders. TL;DR the main highlight of this Lockhart location is the convenience of it being within Texas Live / nearby Globe Life Field (and not too far from AT&T Stadium). Wasn't especially impressed with the brisket here, and would've preferred the pulled pork. If you're looking for bbq in Texas, perhaps visit the flagship Lockhart Smokehouse location in Dallas instead (I've never been there, but Texas-based friends have said good things). There are better options in the Arlington area either way though."
"This is a great restaurant. The food and service was excellent. The menu is very unique so have fun. We were a large group so had the smokehouse burger the tacos the brisket the enchilada lasagne and the blackened chicken pasta. It was all wonderful. Hanna was absolutely lovely"
"Went here for a quick drink and snack so I cannot really recommend much. They do have a big wrap around bar and the location is quite quaint but spacious for big groups. The bartender at the moment was very quiet and didn't really try to answer our questions or upsell anything. We also went the last hour of service and the place was pretty empty. I got a couple of tacos and they were very "juicy" and flavorful. My husband got a stuffed avocado that was quite tasty. Will be back o tasting emote of this extensive bbq menu."
"Okay I've been wanting to check out this food truck to see what all the hype is about!! It is located a little off 380 in front of Eskimo Hut. Well it is about the fact that they have really solid BBQ!! I wanted to try it all so I got the Chubby platter ($20) which is brisket stuffed potato, sliced brisket, sausage, ribs and chicken. I subbed the chicken for extra brisket. I also had to try their brisket tacos ($2 off taco plates on Tuesdays) cause it is taco Tuesday and do I really need an excuse to get tacos!?! The ribs are super tender but the meat will not all fall off as soon as you take a bite as it should be!! It's on a bone for you to eat it from!! Lol. The brisket is spot on! Juicy tender!! Really good!! The loaded baked potato was so delicious !! The tacos....AMAZING!! Like REALLY amazing!! I am so glad I finally stopped by!! Check this place out!! You won't be disappointed!!"
"Solid food. The Al Pastor taco was my favorite and then the Quesabrira was #2. The Chicken Tinga wasn't my favorite but still good. The Avocado Bomb was super flavorful and filling for sure. They have a large whiskey selection and a good selection of beer on tap.Staff was great, got right in at the bar and was taken care of the whole time. The place has a small restaurant/bar feel and was straightforward and simple. All in all a great place and it was worth the walk in 103F heat from the Hilton Lincoln Center, ~15 minutes."
"This is a must go if you're in the area and I can't emphasize enough how good this BBQ is. This is my 3rd time here and from now on anytime I'm visiting my friends we will be coming here...everything is delicious and the help is professional and the decor typical of a roadside restaurant simply fantastic."
"This place was cool. The service was great. The gentleman at the counter was kind and explained everything to me. You buy everything seperate. I liked the meat it was delicious. I wasn't crazy about the Mac and cheese."
