"I ate here with one of my friends and I probably been back 10 more times. This place is so good!!!! The ox tails are a MUST!! And their Jamaican Pattie's are filled with meat!!The customer service is on point! Always attentive and nice. The jerk chicken is a must as well! The sauce is everything! FoodTaste fresh!! The rice is tender & the cabbage is flavorful! I love this place! Customer for life! Make sure you check in on Yelp for a coupon!"
"This venue has grown over the past couple years and never disappoints. The artist list is growing, the DJ's really get you dancing! The bartenders are quick and efficient. I love when the hotdog guy parks out back! After a long cardio session, a good Frank is always needed. It does get packed around 12, but that's when the crowd comes alive! Get yourself a ticket and live your best life! I have not tried a day party here but it's on my bucket list!"
"Came out to see the Cirque Spirit of Christmas Show in which my friend's daughters performs. The Glass Cactus is a nightclub entertainment venue attached to the Gaylord Texan.Perfect size for small acts, you feel like you're part of the action. This show featuring international circus acts along traditional lines was high energy. It runs thru the Christmas season and is worth catching."

I did not know that Jamaica was in Arlington. I have not been to Jamaica yet, but I know what the countryside tastes like now.The restaurant is located in a shopping center but it is off by itself so there is plenty of parking. When my friend and I walked into Jamaica Gates, we were greeted immediately and shown to our seats. We got there at about 6, so it was before the dinner rush. And our waiter Glen helped answer our questions about the food and the drink menu. They have happy hour from 3 - 7 Tuesday - Sunday, It was a really nice happy hour because you could pick any of the liquors from the middle shelf or their rum punch or wine for $5 and $2 off their appetizers.I chose the Jamaican greens. They were so tasty, and I also got their brown fish stew with red beans and rice and cabbage. When I heard stew, I thought it was going to be like a soup. It was a whole fish with a delicious sauce on top of it. It was cooked beautifully and so tender. The cabbage was tasty, and the rice and beans tasted authentic. My friend and I were there for hours because we were catching up, and the longer we were there, the busier it got. Before we left, we also got our free dessert. We wanted the Jamaican rum cake, but they were out. So we settled for the cheesecake. It was pretty tasty considering, but I had my mouth ready for the rum cake, so I'll be doing that next time. At around 8 PM, on Fridays, a DJ comes, and they actually have 2 DJs playing, so it started to get poppin. They are open late and I would love to go back on a Saturday when they have live music. If you want to go to Jamaica but it's not in the budget, this is the next best option! I can't wait to go back.

The drinks are good and strong they are also reasonable priced especially on Sunday nights. The music is fun to dance to and the place is crowded and loud

I found myself at the Glass Cactus for an after-hours work event. This sparked my interest for a number of reasons: what food would they be serving? How night-clubby would we be getting? What kind of music would be played? Also, what food would they be serving? Did I mention food? Anyway, since I was staying at the Gaylord and the GC is on property, I made the quick trip over to check it out. You can easily walk to the GC from the main hotel area of the Gaylord (Google Maps said it would take ~12 minutes). They also have trolley service which we took advantage of as it was raining. Walking in, we were greeted by a large space with a bar in the middle. In addition to being a nightclub, GC markets itself as a space to host events such as weddings and corporate speaking engagements. I can see that - the space looks really versatile. There's a huge stage in the front that serves as a focal point, and windows on the perimeter which provides nice views of the surrounding lake. They had a live band playing while we were there, and several food stations serving Southern fare. Most of the food was good, nothing to write home about but not bad either; the chicken and waffles were my favorite. They also hosted a make-you-own spice rub station which was fun - after several sneezes I had a take-home souvenir. Drinks were fine - the menu was limited (likely due to arrangements being made with the Gaylord and the organization I was at the work event for), so I stuck to an Old Fashioned. They were making them in bulk due to the volume and overall it was fine. Everyone was friendly, and overall fine experience at Glass Cactus. The versatility of the space makes it a good spot to host a variety of events, and I wouldn't be disappointed if I found myself here again.
