Bovine

While it has been open for a while, we just made our first visit to Bovine. Clearly, it has a wide selection of steaks and adds, but on this trip we went for other items.But, first it has great decor. Up front are a few tables and the bar. Another seating area is in the back and that is where we were seated. It was the slow time of the afternoon and only a few customers were there. The bar area is fairly small so, and it's just a guess, would get pretty cramped if it got busy. But, crowded bars can be fun!Like anything on Main in Midlothian parking can be a hassle,but we were there early. Also there is parking in the back and a convenient rear entry way.The area where we were seated is away from the bar and nice simple tables.Appetizer was the Chips and Salsa. It was the only thing we were not impressed with. We would either skip appetizers or try something else.We had one of the specials.. 2 small chicken breast with roasted tomatoes and topped with mozzarella cheese. Comes with one side and with this entree we had a loaded baked potato. Very good choice. Second order was the chicken fried steak and onion rings as the side. Again, just fantastic and the pepper gravy was perfect.With an iced tea the bill was only $45 before tip. And we could have saved a few bucks on that without the chips.Alex was our host and did a great job. I highly recommend Bovine and look forward to having one of their steaks.

When you want a steak that is spiced and cooked to perfection in a relaxed atmosphere you can't get at the chains, you need to plan a visit to Bovine. The service was the best. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of all menu items and his recommendation of the Mac and cheese was spot on. Will be back when I'm in the area

We visited Bovine for a birthday dinner. The steak was cooked perfectly and the choices of sides were great as well. The service was also great. We can't wait to visit again!

I've been here well over 7-8 times and I consistently get the same good quality of food and service. Great steak. It's a great atmosphere, feels small, while also having a menu that has enough variety. It's a perfect spot for a good quick date or nice meal. They do a good job bartending. All in all, great spot without the stuffy white table cloth feel.

My hubby & I had a late lunch here today. Needed a good steak & the ribeye didn't disappoint. Sides & dessert was great too! Full service bar & acoustic music on the weekends. Enjoyed food, atmosphere & very good service!!! We will be back!!!

If I could give this less I would! We called the day before we went to make reservations. The hostess took our info and disconnected. When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told that there would be a 40 minute wait to be seated. What is the point of a reservation if our party still has to wait 40 minutes to be seated. The hostess said they were recently slammed and there was nothing they can do. She also mentioned that they only make reservations 20 to 30 minutes ahead of arrival. The hostess on the phone didn't provide this information. This is unacceptable and not the way to run a business.

Food is good! Fresh made and tasty...however... the prices are a bit steep. If they lowered their food prices by 20-30% it would be a big hit!

This is our second visit and the 1st one was not good at all but it was just opened so we gave the benefit. We waited very long time for 2nd visit and it was not any better. I got the chicken fried steak and a baked potato with the house salad. Salad was fine, my CFS was burned and covered up with gravy and my potato was under cooked. Good happy hour and good service but food is not good. They need a new cook.

Me and my parents wanted to try Bovine for the first time so we did. But it disappointed us. When we sat down and ordered everything was fine. My dad was a little upset they didnt have the Titos Vodka he wanted with his drink. But it didnt bother me because it happens. After we ordered the time before the meal wasnt that bad of a wait. When we got our meal it looked really good. But my mom was missing her side dish. So my mom called the waitress and she said she forgot to tell us that they were out of potatoes. Then my mom asked if her drink was being made, and the waitress yet again said "oh yes let me get that going for you" as if she forgot yet again. My mom ordered a medium rare steak but it turned out very rare. She only ate some of it because she doesnt like rare. The place really just didnt seem all that great with their dishes.
