Mellow place I think I was the first customer for breakfast. The waitress was nice friendly and quick. Only me and 2 other customers . I ordered a Trey Man, simple 3 eggs anyway you want bacon or sausage with hash browns, toast orBiscuits and gravy. I'll try the rest of the menu later, when I have the chance since they're also open for lunch and dinner.My waitress I think her name was Laura, she was friendly and came by to top off my coffee or check if I needed water. Definitely will be one of my goto breakfast places in North Richland Hills.

Blue Mound Cafe is a spacious diner with plenty of seating, though I wish they spread out customers a bit more for privacy. The service was excellent--our waitress was friendly, made great menu suggestions, and recommended the senior breakfast for its value.The meal included two eggs, toast, grits, and a piece of sausage. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and while the grits were slightly undercooked, they were still enjoyable.One of the highlights is their dessert selection, with a great variety of pies and cakes. If you have a sweet tooth, it's definitely worth checking out. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal with good service!

Exceptional café. Recommend. Our table service was excellent. The drink glasses were kept full, and our food orders came to the table correct and promptly. Absolutely no complaints with the service we received. The food was also excellent. They have a large variety of southern comfort food options to choose from, including fried zucchini. I encourage you to try their zucchini, especially if it's new to you. You won't be disappointed. And, their dinner rolls are incredible. Save room for dessert. Wow!The ambiance is casual, café style dining.If you're hungry for southern comfort fare this is your place.

This is a very homely feeling restaurant ,with food that taste like you are at your grandmas house. For some reason it gives the whole Dixie House Cafe vibe but with a few changes to their menu. The waitresses were great couldn't have asked for better service, that being said it wasn't very busy when we went in. So I ordered the patty melt with fries. It was very good but I could only eat 1/2 because it was so big. My daughter ordered chicken fried chicken w/veggies . She said it was delicious. My grandson ordered a corn dog & I didn't need to ask cause he kept saying mmmm. Mmmmm after every bite so we knew he liked it. If you haven't been here check it out it's worth it !

So happy to have another southern cooking cafe to the area. Fairly spacious area to sit, I went the the Monte Cristo w/fries & raspberry preserve and it was scrumptious with the preserve spread, Fries good a touch soggy but I ate them all. Diana had the Meatloaf & Mash Potatoes. She finished as much as she could, and we boxed the rest. We finished it out with a slice of the coconut cream pie.Service was friendly.

Came in today specifically for pie, which they were out of all but two slices of one flavor. My husband asked about a different kind of dessert and it was out as well.I'm a big sit with a warm drink and have a good slice of pie person so having heard decent things I came out of my way to try them, so it was disappointing for them to be out of so much. The two people I talked to seemed nice enough, but one seemed annoyed that we didn't seem to want to get regular food. Was going to try an appetizer, but decided to put that off till we could come in to get what we intended to get. Unfortunately, their pie person was out for the week. Which was the explanation behind not having any pies. It doesn't really explain why the back up desserts we wanted to order ended up being out as well, unless by pie person they meant their dessert person. I hope that means things are made fresh, but it could be one person does the prep for one or more of the restaurants. With only one person is making the desserts for the restaurant, and if that persons out causing them not to be able to carry items, hopefully they can get a second person to learn how to make it so things can stay in stock.

This had to be one of the weirdest interactions I've ever had with a server. The tall older lady waited on us. Lots of weird unnecessary comments and then looking at my 1 year old daughter who was still eating she says "you must've had a rough day" I'm taken back by that comment and then she goes "she must've been with a sitter all day". Who says that? Not at all a professional thing to say to a mother and her daughter and her great grandmother I respond "no actually I stay home with her all day" not really sure what she meant by that but should've kept her mouth shut. Also she asked about a tip before running our cars which is weird and puts you in the spot, then took almost 10 minutes to bring our cards back which at that point I'm so ready to go. Also there are no changing station in restrooms. Such a shame because food was really good but will definitely not be back.
