Probably the most underrated bbq in the DFW area. I've never once had bbq or food from this place that would go under a 4 or 5 out of 5. The quality and the flavor are definitely there. In fact, we came out right after eating at Terry Blacks, and it's pretty comparable. If you were to ask which I'd go to if I had a first pick, then it would come down to what exactly I'm there for. With everyone else's ratings, I'm curious to know where they find better BBQ. List them y'all! Because, if they can, then it has to be something pretty amazing. I've been everywhere in DFW from Terry Blacks to Pecan Lodge to Lockharts and all the way to South Texas. So far, I've had the fried chicken, brisket, chopped brisket, jalapeño poppers, sausage, turkey, ham, ribs, baked beans, and Mac n cheese. I will say almost all of the food was a solid 4 or 5 out of 5! I know the menu and flavors have changed multiple times since I started eating at the Mansfield location, but they haven't committed any sins in my eyes. For instance, I've not really loved the ribs yet, but their chopped brisket, pulled pork, and ham really hit delicious. To me, once all the growth and transitions finish, it should be considered a top competitor for bbq in DFW area.

I've been a long time fan of Big D in Mansfield. I finally got a chance to come here and had a good time. We sat at the bar. Bartenders were attentive. I ordered the smoked old fashioned but something got lost in translation and I didn't get it smoked for some reason. If you ate at the location in Mansfield, the menu is similar but there are some changes. The Mac and cheese I thought was better in Mansfield with the sausage they add. This location has pulled pork and it was the best meat we had tonight. The sausage wasn't as good as I remember from Mansfield but still ok. The chopped brisket is always a good choice too. Glad to see this place with a bar in a good location.

Our family usually drives about an hour away for what we consider good barbecue. Especially when you're not willing to sacrifice the time and effort to do it yourself. We thought we'd try this new spot out after reading about their story on their website. I took my 7 yo with me to pick up food. We ordered our usual as we do at other bbq restaurants, a pound of brisket, ribs, and sausage. We also got the Mac n Cheese, and creamed corn.Everything looked delicious. But we found that looks can be deceiving. All the meats tasted like lighter fluid. It's as if they didn't burn a clean fire. The brisket was tender but you couldn't get past the funny fuel taste. The creamed corn was more like a thick blonde roux with canned corn and black pepper added. The Bacon Mac n Cheese was runny. It wasn't thick and creamy like one would expect.I did observe the bar while waiting and after tasting, I see the concept. After having a few drinks, everything I stated above wouldn't matter. As a foodie, I have to be honest. Not a place I would recommend.

Excellent food (esp the brisket), but very pricey for the small portions. I had the cheddar jalapeño sausage, pork ribs and brisket. 3-meat plate runs $26 and includes either 2 sides or 1 side w/drink. I chose the latter (green beans straight from a can, but interestingly seasoned). They offer craft sodas, which is a plus. The sausage was better than average but cold. The pork ribs (2 shorties) were very tender but seasoned like they were beef (very peppery). But the brisket was well above average. I always ask for bark, so I can get the full flavor. Right amount of smoke, very tender, and well-seasoned. Only downside? Only 4 small slices. I recommend this joint for above-average flavor, but try a side other than the green beans. And be prepared to spend $30+ for the full meal experience.

The food and the friendliness of the staff kept me from lowering my review. The issue is the wait for service. I waited to write this because I wanted to see if anything changed from the last time I was here. During lunch rush there is really only one person to attend the customers. I understand the cost of another employee but then the manager should step up. The first time my food sat and sat until I was given it. I was told it sat by the person giving me my order. The second time it took 18 minutes for someone to ask me if I needed anything. I understand they're busy and I see the servers fast walking and almost running everywhere they go. My issue is they need one more person.

Absolutely the worst BBQ ever. Sauce was over powering. Ribs were cold. Brisket was dry. Each side was bad. Coleslaw and potato salad had no taste. Beans were nasty. Green beans were spicy hot with a unrecognizable taste. All in all meal had no redeeming qualities and was extremely over priced. The saving grace was the womens bath room. It was whimsical and cool! The bar area looked cozy and inviting.

Food is good. Candidly, the BBQ does not compete with the elites like franklins, pecan lodge, or Goldie's. That said, it (brisket and turkey) was very tender and you could taste the smoke. The sides (max and cheese, beans and corn) were all good. Bread and BBQ sauce were also solid. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was cool. Well designed on the inside dinning area and outside patio. Would be a great place to watch a game. Drinks also looked good. I would come back. It is great addition to Midlo!

My wife wanted to try this for our anniversary. We had our kids with us and they don't eat BBQ. Nobody made a big deal about the kids eating McDonald's in the restaurant while we ate BBQ.When we first walked in we were greeted by several young girls. They were patient and attentive and walked us through the menu since it was our first time there. The service was phenomenal. I really can't say that enough. We bought a drink at the bar for my wife and I and those were also very good. The bartender even heard us ask for catchup and went out of her way and found some for us after we were told they didn't have any.The BBQ was a solid 7. It had good flavor and there was a good amount of meat on the pork ribs. There were a couple very small bites that were a little tough. Overall it was great food. I had the bacon Mac and cheese which was really my only disappointment. I was expecting really cheesy Mac and cheese with lots of bacon bits. It was kinda cheesy and there were about 6 big chunks of meat that might have been bacon. But, not what I was expecting.I would definitely recommend eating here.

The ribs were so dry we could barely eat them.. Called to inform the manager, but he "stepped out" and left my name and number. No call back as of today. A waste of money. One of the ladies that was preparing the order had 2 long pieces of her hair out on each side that could easily touch someone's food. OH, NO GLOVES ON AS WELL.What happened to hair nets and gloves when preparing people's food?
