Stopped in for lunch recently. Had a great meal. Sadly, snow in the Big Easy meant no crawfish boil, but the Cajun fried chicken, red beans and rice, and crispy shrimp salad were first rate. However, the showstopper was the collard greens. Wow! Simply the best I've ever had by a mile.Great service at the bar too. We'll be back.

Great food! Love the calamari, Redfish Rockefeller and Halibut with the wine sauce. The crawfish are a little small still but not the restaurant's fault. Now, what is with the service and the staff changing all the time? New management must be scaring all the good ones off. The hubbie and I always ask for Sophie or Allison because they know what we like and how to be attentive without hovering. We went last night and it just wasn't the same. No smiles, and everyone looks robotic. Young manager Chloe, is lost and the man is creepy and fake. Not sure we'll keep going if things don't feel better next time. Atmosphere and service are important for a good experience.

I'm back! I'm sooooo glad we came back years later to give them another shot. My last review speaks for itself, but I strongly believe in how management is everything and management can change.ANYWAY, we came at a time that could be considered off-peak, it was neither crowded nor dead, but service was spectacular. I asked the server's name and I "think" she said Sophie? Anyway, she was great, full of good suggestions and even made some substitutions I was grateful to get.The food was DELICIOUS! And they had a great promotion to get free "Dirty Balls" appetizer with 2 entrees (Sun-Thurs), and actually never had them before and they were very nice. Might get them again in the future. In short, it was nice to have what felt like "the old Bayou Jack's back". Glad we took the chance, nobody else's Cajun food is/was as good for miles around.See ya again soon, Jack!

Food was excellent. And I enjoyed my catfish with crawfish ettouffe (sorry for bad spelling.) Service was extremely slow. Getting table was off by double the time and server was very slow and would disappear for long periods of time. The local ambiance is neat but nothing to sway anything.

When we want real seafood we head to Bayou Jack's on Oak St. Once you eaten fresh, the big chains are no longer an option even with their "endless......." specials. The grandkids love the kid's plate pizza and chicken tender meals.

Delicious food here and fairly affordable! We started with fried okra. Served with remolade - yum. They have a decent selection of craft beers on tap. Not as many as some, but they do have a variety so whether you like stouts, lagers or IPAs, you can probably find one you like.I had the fish tacos served with dirty rice. A nice portion, not too huge, and tasty. Next time I want to try the half portion of po'boy with gumbo. My hubs got the catfish topped with etoufee and wow, what an amazing dark roux. He said it was delicious. They have a lot of daily specials in addition to a fairly varied menu. Decent value; we had one beer, one appetizer and two entrees for about $50 including tip.

We were indecisive about lunch, so we stopped at Bayou Jack's in Roanoke. We had a dozen oysters (not pictured), which were very fresh and so good. Their "from the land" menu caters to those who don't like seafood. I love seafood, but I opted for the Cajun chicken fried chicken, while he had the meatloaf. Both dishes were excellent. The gravy on the chicken fried chicken had a perfect balance of spice, and the greens were outstanding - I could have easily eaten a whole bowl. The grandma's meatloaf with the sweet Tabasco glaze was ideal comfort food for this weather. Both dishes were so flavorful, from the mashed potatoes down to the very last crumb of my chicken fried chicken. After finishing our meal, we noticed they had Jalapeño pork chops! That's definitely going to be our next order and cannot forget the dirty balls.

Just right! The Crawfish Monica (Rotini pasta with sauteed crawfish, onion & jalapeno. Tossed in a spicy garlic cream sauce) had the perfect balance of pasta crawfish and heat. The fish and chips had a nice light batter that hit the spot. Service was fine and the casual atmosphere was very comfortable.
