this place is more like a 4.25 out of 5 stars. The only reason why i gave it 4.25 and not a 4.5 or 5 is that the water tasted funny. lol. I couldn't stand it, so i had to get soda. The food didn't take too long for them to bring out. i think the item that took the longest to bring out were the dan dan noodles. i honestly thought the duck would take the longest, but they brought that out first. the peking duck was so damn delicious. we ended up getting half an order for around 30 bucks. i'm very glad they do half orders here. the peking duck comes with sweet bean sauce, green onions, cucumbers, granulated sugar and some sweet fruit jam sauce. It also comes with 10 "pancakes". really impressed with the presentation and the flavor was out of this world. whatever you do, definitely get it. if you order the peking duck, you also get free duck soup. (they simply boil the bones of the duck and add some veggies)We also got pork with jalapenos and dan dan noodles. Both were good, the pork dish was greasy. But enjoyed the kick from it. The dan dan noodles was kinda lacking in flavors as compared to other placed i've tried. I have a feeling this place gets packed during dinner. We came during lunch, right at opening, and were seated immediately. But think if you're coming for dinner during the weekend, it might be safe to call in for reservations? (not sure if they even take it)

SO good! I've been to the location in Austin, and this location is just as good. There were ~13 parties ahead of us, and it only took us about 40 minutes to get our table. I highly recommend the green beans and the Peking duck. The green beans come in a massive portion size, and they're stir fried really well. Peking duck is a classic, and you also get some soup alongside the duck. My mom tried the double cooked pork the next day when she came with friends, and she said it was a really good order as well. Some of the best Chinese food in the city is definitely at Bamboo House!

We had a big group dinner and take up two tables. They reserved a big room next to kitchen for us and we can see people doing food preps. The food served very quickly and the staff is attentive. We got the signature crispy duck and duck bone soup. I love the traditional thin pancakes that wrap duck meat, cucumber, and green onions together. Also get combo pan fried cho fun noodles, fish in boil spicy sauce, salt and pepper fish, bean tips in garlic sauce, twice cooked pork belly, and gansi(tofu strips) in chicken and ham soup. Our group favorite dish is crispy spicy chicken and peking duck. I personally like salty egg shrimp but several friends feel lazy to peel the shell. We had a lot leftover and the orange chicken tastes great after microwave. I'm happy to try bamboo house and will go again with big group.

They serve big plates of food but it all tastes the same, flavor isn't at all worth the visit. We tried Schezuan chicken and beef which had no flavor, no spice. The beef and broccoli was better but not worth a second trip. The front check in is a little odd too, no one shows you how to do it while they stand around the host stand chatting.

I am so happy that we were finally able to eat at Bamboo House in Plano. My husband ordered a cup of the egg drop soup and the cashew chicken. I ordered the half-peking duck that came with all of the fixings and duck soup. My husband thought the cashew chicken could use more seasoning but I mentioned that often the chicken does not absorb seasonings as well as pork or beef and that the chicken dish tasted very "clean" to me. I am very sensitive to processed food additives and nothing I tried made me react. His egg drop soup was superb. This was my first try of Peking duck and I just loved it and enjoyed using the crepes to wrap the meat and crispy skin with the cucumber, cabbage, hoisin sauce and plum sauce. Very nice sensory sensation by using the hands. Love that! I found the service to be very efficent and attentive. The bell you ring at the table is an excellent idea and can barely be heard by the customers. I find this to be way more efficient than someone stopping by and checking on you when you aren't in need of anything. They also bring much of the food out on carts and man when those carts are rolling past your table, you find yourself gawking at the dishes and having a bit of entree envy! The portions are HUGE and the pricing seems fair for what you get.The restaurant was very clean and the decor was pretty hip. I plan to return!

Portions are humongous. I think biggest portions in any DFW Asian restaurantI've been twice so far so feel like it's time to give a review. First time I went I felt like the food was ok the duck was ok, but man I went recently and boy did the duck hit on all marks. The skin was so crispy and everything was tasty and fresh. The soup traditionally is good but really shined at Bamboo House. The white pepper was the perfect amount, I even took some home it was that good.Definitely get the duck. The spicy fried Mala chicken was good but i don't know if I'd get it again, I prefer less Mala TBH so if you like the lemon numbness of Mala you will love this.Honey walnut shrimp was great and huge portions, again portions here NEVER missGet the egg tofu mushroom dish, amazing.Fried rice is decent, above average I think. Personally I think most fried rice at the Asian restaurants are mid, can't beat home cooked fried riceGarlic pea sprouts are a yesService is actually pretty goodPlace is pretty clean tooIf you've only been once I recommend giving it another chanceI'll be back

Have been weekly for a month now. Their honey walnut shrimp is fantastic, love that they offer half a duck and soup, both are very good. It's festively decorated, and service is efficient. Over the last few visits, I've also ordered the handmade shrimp balls with veg soup, meatballs and crab, Shanghai prawns, fish and tofu pudding, and cauliflower dry pot, which I'll happily reorder, depending on mood. I will also pass on their orange chicken - too dry and not crunchy but it is all white meat chicken (which is great), salt and pepper fish - not fried enough to be crunchy and not enough flavor, and scallion beef - the beef is too fatty for me, like pork belly but beef. Overall, I really like the restaurant and food. Price is fair, given the quality of the food and value. It's not your typical Chinese American restaurant - it's more a particular regional Chinese restaurant with some Chinese American dishes that is a hit or miss (pass on the orange chicken, but the honey walnut shrimp is fantastic!)

My family has been frequenting this gem since it opened, and we have every intention of continuing. While the menu is extensive, the standout dish is undoubtedly the full order of Peking duck. The presentation is impeccable, with an abundance of succulent duck and crispy skin, accompanied by all the traditional accoutrements. The consistency here is unmatched; the food always arrives quickly and maintains a high standard. We've never left disappointed. It's a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality and service. For anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience, this place is an absolute must-visit.

DFW is limited in Peking duck, but this place definitely takes the crown for it out of all the places that does serve Peking duck in DFW. The Chinese food is also really delicious too! We love the kungpao chicken, honey walnut shrimp and the soup that goes along with the Peking duck when you order it is fantastic too! Highly recommend!
