What a great find!!In town visiting relatives for Christmas and camping on Lake Lavon. Really needed some veggies and found Ballard Street Cafe on Yelp for lunch. Very friendly, fast service in a neat location in a Main Street building. Some of the best Chicken fried chicken I've ever had along with excellent vegetables that were seasoned perfectly. So many places over salt vegetables. These were cooked in broth and very tasty but not over salted! After all, customers can always add salt. A solid 5 stars! Can't wait to try the breakfast.

This is a local diner that had pretty strong ratings so we stopped by while checking out Wylie. The customer service was a 5. The price point was a 5. The Ambiance was a 3. I really can't say enough about how kind and welcoming their staff was. I honestly want to give them a five because we enjoyed them so much. However, the food was a 2 at best. It seems like other people have had better experiences with typical diner food. I had the grill chicken (not great), gumbo (not good and not gumbo), and onion rings which were bland and not my favorite. My wife had eggs (good), hash browns (cold and/or warm), and ham which was not a ham steak, but a thin piece that wasn't great. If you go, I highly recommend you stick with the fried normal diner food not anything healthy, and skip the gumbo.

Really great experience having breakfast here for the second time. Their pancakes are phenomenal. Unfortunately, this morning my hashbrowns were burnt, but the waitress is really nice and brought me some fresh tomatoes instead. I also tried fried bologna and it said big thick piece. Great ambience Great service Great pricesLove it

Service was on point. My kids didn't leave a bite of pancakes and French toast. Next time, I would request the bacon be cooked a bit more. We ordered another order more crispy but it came out almost burnt. So there is a fine line. Try to be specific about your bacon if you are particular.Mexicali scramble had a good flavor but wasn't really spicy. The side of fruit was melon and grapes, hashbrowns were meh and chicken biscuit was pretty good. It's nestled amongst the shops in cute, downtown Wylie. It has an old school atmosphere. Like stepping back in time with the wood booths, tables and chairs and a few bar stools.

This place is a real winner!! A quaint little cafe in a cute downtown shopping area with HEART!! Each visit to this cafe is a delightful experience, leaving us with a sense of appreciation. The food, always fresh and piping hot, is a testament to the chef's skill, and the reasonable prices make it a great value for money. As a family-owned establishment, the cafe upholds the tradition of respecting and valuing its customers. The thick bacon, creamy gravy, and biscuits will keep you coming back for more. But they are only open through lunch, so don't be late! :-)Add this place to your list... it's a winner!

Wow! My husband and I were in Wylie today and looked for somewhere to eat breakfast. This spot did not disappoint!! There was a big crowd there for breakfast, so we sat at the bar. We were waited on immediately. Started with delicious coffee. I ordered over easy eggs and chicken fried chicken. It came with hash browns and homemade biscuits and gravy. My husband ordered fried pork chops, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and biscuits, and gravy. The portions are large and the prices are so reasonable. We had leftovers to bring home! Everything was so delicious. The biscuits are so good!! There's plenty of parking on the street. The wait staff was super accommodating and super nice!! We will be back. This is a great place for breakfast or lunch!

Ballard Street Cafe was an absolute delight. Every year for my birthday my husband starts off the day with a delicious breakfast from a diner we hadn't visited before. We're new to the area so we had no idea what the plan would be. Winging it and checking Yelp, BSC caught my eye. All your girl wanted was some delectable blueberries birthday pancakes and wow did I get them!! The pancakes were fluffy and light, I did a happy dance with the first few bites. The atmosphere itself is adorable. It gives me old town saloon vibes inside. Downtown Wylie itself is somewhere I'm excited to frequent more. Husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, French toast, sausage patties, and we split everything else. By far some of the best bacon a diner could offer. We spoke to the front staff and they highly recommended calling ahead on the weekends as it gets pretty crowded. Overall review: get your tail over there for some wonderful casual breakfast food!

I get takeout from here ever so often. You can never go wrong with their vegetable sides and meatloaf, which are my favorite. I came in on Christmas Eve and got a hot fresh double slice of meatloaf with generous mashed potatoes. The staff is great. My one could be improved comment is that when I call in an order she asks me if I want a mix of cornbread and rolls or just cornbread. I always say just cornbread and always get a mix. They are great to fix it if I point it out, but It happens so often I've just figured it's part of going there, lol. When I want home cooking it's really worth it. Great price and the real deal.
