We had a great time at Anchor Bar. We started off with the Edamame which was well seasoned and tasted great. We then got the crispy chicken bao buns which were my favorite part of the meal. The glaze on the chicken was incredible. Next, we got two speciality rolls- the baked crab and the best roll. Both were excellent and I would recommend them again. Lastly, the ambiance was good inside the restaurant and their outdoor patio will be perfect for cooler weather.Overall, we would definitely come back here.

Ah, the Vandelay Hospitality Group... building facsimile's of the restaurants originally created by the Hillstone Group. Though I can't blame them, Hillstone definitely sets the standard.Brentwood is ok, as is Hudson House. One thing Vandelay can't seem to match is the level of service their servers provide. Anchor Sushi just completely misses the mark. The cocktails were great and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service was slow and the sushi was just... fine. I dunno. Blah. The Knox Roll is supposed to have some seared salmon on top, but the salmon on ours was barely kissed by any type of heating element. The Thai Tuna roll, having been told that it's basically the Thai Tuna roll R&D used to carry was pretty bland.I'm glad I finally got to try this place. It was still a successful date night for my wife and I, but we left quite disappointed in the food.

My boyfriend and I typically go to the Preston Hollow location - but we do love this location as well, especially for takeout. The food is always incredible. Sushi is amazing. Drinks are delicious. The vibe is always upbeat and fun. The service is always impeccable. Great value for a high quality dining experience in my opinion. We will continue to come back & order takeout!

Up scale sushi fusion, all menu we tried are excellent, Sea-bass is very fresh and cooked to perfect temperature. Service is also very good, Destini gave us wonderful smile and suggestions. The place is small, but cozy and look up scale, we love it.

6 months later I was finally able to visit in person. Cute corner location. The inside is dark and cozy. Reminiscent of maybe a boat house. I'm not sure if something happened before I came but the staff seemed to be stressed. No one really smiled. Just all going through the motions. My server seemed to be new. Not very knowledgeable about the menu but she was polite and attentive and showed a lot of effort. Now onto the food....Tuna crispy rice 3/10 - this app has 3 pieces. The tuna was extreme soft. Seemed to be minced but hard to tell. There were far too many sauces and too much on this app. You couldn't really taste the fish. Crispy chicken bao 5/10 - the chicken was crispy, tempura fried. Texture and look was more beer battered than tempura but the taste was ok.Uni nigiri 0/10 - Uni had no texture. It was extremely soft almost melted and had heavy fish/metal after taste. I told the server and they removed the dish.Shoyu pork ramen 0/10 - the broth was mildly flavored. The noodles had an off gummy texture that stuck to our teeth. We expected pork belly or sliced fresh pork but instead received a cut up patty as the pork that also had no flavor.Toro sashimi 0/10 - the toro placed in front of me was not fresh/quality. It was spongy and greyish brown. I didn't taste it. The manager removed it and insisted the fish was cut fresh to order although it was spongy and brown. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of food and my overall visit. Although I had a previous a good experience I wouldn't visit a 3rd time.

We got drawn to this restaurant because of their well-known crispy rice appetizer! The restaurant is located in the Knox-Henderson area, they have both outdoor and indoor seating (incl. bar). It can definitely get busy so plan ahead or you can try to get bar seating. We tried the lychee martini, which they're famous for, and Okinawa sour cocktail. The drinks were excellent, pair perfectly with our sushi orders. We obv ordered the crispy rice, which was really good, great for sharing. Also ordered the Chef's Pressed roll. Love the wasabi cream dressing.Overall it was a great snack, would love to return to try more dishes!

A very scene-y place to be at the corner in Knox Henderson area. cute outdoor patio and has a few seats inside and bar seating available. We came on a Friday night and it ended up being fairly busy with an hour and a half wait to sit outside or inside at a table so we opted for the bar instead. They do have a happy hour from 4-6 pm for half price martinis and crispy rice. We ordered the crunchy rice which was delicious and comes with 3 pieces. We also ordered 2 martinis which were delicious. Would definitely come back to grab a drink and a bite or two!

I do enjoy Anchor Bar. It's hard to find good quality sushi these days and I love the food. The Salmon Crispy Rice and toro sashimi are favs. I do appreciate that you can get stuffed if you'd like. The Baked Crab Dynamic roll is very filling, also the Tokyo Cheeseburger will do the trick. The turn over of staff is quite frequent so service is not always the best. I really want to love Chef's Pressed but it tastes like yesterday.

My boyfriend and I came in to order some fresh nigiri and crispy pressed rice. Upon arrival we were greeted by almost everybody. The welcoming and eager ambiance made the visit entirely that much better. The place is very James Bond vibe and 70s yacht style vibe. The interior is a neutral and chic, with a classic/timeless elegant style. Absolutely stunning and the oldies jams bring me back to a classic disco film (since I wasn't born in that decade lol) We ordered a few martinis (it's happy hour on Saturday's and that's close to UNHEARD of, so we took the necessary advantage). The bar experts are knowledgeable and also, personable which made the experience of sitting at the bar that much more enjoyable. We started with spicy tuna crispy rice and chicken boa buns. The crispy rice was absolutely mouth watering and filling *at least for me*. Full of flavor and the presentation was absolutely stunning. The boa buns were EXCEPTIONAL. Not too much, not too little- JUST enough. My boyfriend loved the boa buns the most. I acted full after my 1st one so he could enjoy the last one.. I'm so nice then we had the chefs pressed topped with caviar. I'm a HUGE caviar fan so the moment I see that, it's going in the cart or on the bill. It was AMAZING. Scrumptious, yet delicate and savory and a hint of sweetness from the drizzle of eel sauce. The wasabi drizzle gave it the nice kick it needed and all I can say is.. chefs kiss. Definitely coming back and can't wait to try more of their delectable dishes :) thank you for taking care of us Joshua!!
