I enjoyed my dinner at Amore Mio. You can substitute any pasta dish with zucchini noodles if needed, like me, for an extra $4. The extra charge is pretty steep, but hey, at least there's an option if you're avoiding gluten. And my zucchini noodles were the perfect texture. I had the pesto "fettuccine" served with a housemade pesto cream sauce, which was reeeeally delicious. I'm a big pesto fan and this passed the test. Amore Mio is quite a pretty restaurant with super high ceilings, stark white walls, and floor to ceiling glass windows letting in plenty of natural light. It's very minimalist.I think I was only disappointed in the wine list, really. Our Simi cabernet was good, but this is the most upscale, romantic dining spot on Abram Street... we deserve to have more options and better options!

I wish I could give Amore Mio Trattoria a better review, but I can't and be honest in my review. I really thought about the 2-stars, but that's all the visit warrants and that is pushing it. But I'll settle on 2 stars. This review is for a visit that was made the middle of November 2024.A group of "foodie friends" decided to meet up at Amore Mio Trattoria since none of us had ever dined at the restaurant. It was a Friday evening, and our party was one of the only diners in the restaurant. We'd all heard such wonderful things about the restaurant. Our group was excited to be get together there. The food was good, but the service was terrible. As slow as the restaurant was on a Friday evening, we all expected better service. Entrees were coming out really slow and one member of our party waiting over 30 minutes for their dinner while all of us already had ours. Our entrees were good, but in our opinion, WAY overpriced. 20% gratuity was tacked on to our ticket, totally understandable with our party, but the service we received didn't even warrant 10%. We even had to get up to fill our own water. There was a conformation with the staff telling us to leave, never come back and go to another restaurant.Sad, our group was expecting so much more, but it was just a bad experience all the way around especially for a $151 bill for two with a bottle of wine.

Service needs improving because I felt like we had to do everything ourselves. Even though they had almost nobody else in the restaurant. The server did not speak, did not offer drinks or refills. The server did not talk about the menu or what if there were any specials. No one asked how the food was after it came out. We had an issue with the service and the servers did not seem to care. No manager came out to see what the issue was. They had a 20 percent tip added onto the bill for so-called service since we had eight people. Our bill was 74.00 for two people, that was just one caesar salad and two pastas meals, no drinks no desserts since no one offered any. If you are going to add a 20 percent tip automatically you must have great service if you want people to come back. My meal, the pasta with mushroom and chicken, was okay. I like pasta, mushrooms and sauce. The chicken was a little tuff and chewy. The caesar salad was good the bread and oil were also good.

Dang, I really hate writing bad reviews but this place is BLINKING AWFUL. Let me start with the food is good, way over priced but good, it's the service that was what ruined this place for me and the rest of my party. On 10/25/2024 we decided to give this place a try with 7 friends. We arrived about 7:00 and were the only table in the house (BTW, this was a Friday evening so sad) a little later 2 couples came is so it's not like the place was packed. After a little time chatting we ordered our meals and all was going pretty well. When they brought out the meals they brought out 7 but there were 8 in our party. We assumed the last meal would be out in a few minutes but, as time clicked by, still nothing and not a word from the server. Everyone on our end of the table had not started eating our meals because it's rude to start eating before everyone is served. After about 10 minutes the guy what was not served asked the server, who finally came back around, she just said it was coming then walked away. At about the 20 minute mark, when she came back around, the guy just told the server to box up his order and bring the check. This just seemed to piss her off. At this time, we finally started eating our meals, which were pretty much cold by now, and the clock was still ticking on his meal. Although I didn't know the guy, we had met a couple of times, I was getting madder and madder at the server on his behalf and my meal was not only cold but completely ruined from my anger. About the 30 minute mark they finally brought out his meal. No apology no anything just a box in a plastic bag. By this time they had sent out a surly young man and I asked what are they going to do to help make this right. The look in his face was a pissy HOW DARE YOU (thought he might clutch his pearls). Finally he said they would give a discount which I said 100% correct? (He was not amused) I think in finally wound up being 50%. Finally we eat our meal, which was ok even cold. While eating, not once did a server come to our end of the table to check on us or offer water refills. So we were having to ration our water with the very rich meal. Then the checks came out and this is when the FUN really started. My husband had paid the bill without me seeing it. When it came back out I took a look and saw the mandatory 20% gratuity. I was commenting that it was ridiculous that we should be charged a tip when the service completely sucked. I guess the surly guy from earlier was standing behind me and he started yelling that if I didn't pay he would call the police (the bill was already paid). Now this really really pissed me off. Now it's time for me to clutch my pearls. He started yelling, I started yelling and to tell the truth this was not a pretty scene and the people at our table were not comfortable at all. I have never been yelled at by a server and the more he yelled the madder I got and the more I yelled. Not my finest hour but I'm not ashamed at all although I do apologize to my friends. We were the only ones in the place by this time.I realize that they have a mandatory gratuity with larger parties but I'm still pissed that we can get absolutely no service and still have to pay for the privilege of having a crappy evening.Apparently as we were leaving the waiter yelled "next time go to Olive Garden". I'm sure Olive Garden would have been a MUCH better choice so we might just do that. Needless to say, we will not be back. Plus having a total of 12 people of a Friday night, I doubt they will be around much longer.

We arrived as a group on Friday at 7 PM to an almost empty restaurant. One of the meals came 30 minutes after the others, and my order was incorrect but still arrived before my friend's, which seemed forgotten. This created tension with the staff, which escalated when, after paying a check with a 20% automatic gratuity, the server's response was yelling for us to "Leave and go to Olive Garden!" We won't be back. The food was decent but overpriced at $30 a plate, with small meat portions and lots of leftover pasta, especially with the chicken Parmesan.

The owner is very nice! The food is great and you should take advantage of the lunch special because it is a very good price for the amount of food you get! Very cute inside, great for a date night or nicer dinner.

Went to Amore Mio on a weekday evening with the family. Menu is limited but it allows them to focus on the dishes which we were all pleasantly surprised with. Everything tasted good but prices are a bit higher than most other Italian mom-and-pop restaurants in the area. The inside was designed nicely and it did pick up later in the evening but I don't believe they were staffed well since we only saw one waiter. He did a great job managing the driver service alone. You can park on the street or in the garage attached to the building!

The fettuccine Alfredo and the chicken parmigiana were good. The portions are big enough to share.

Okay ... we went to Amore Mio on 2/14 - was not a good experience. It's a cute place! Cute and sterile - seriously spotless which is fabulous but with that being said - not very inviting. Wish they would maybe add some tablecloths, tapestry, just something to make it a bit more cozy but ... at least it was clean!! We started with an appetizer, side salad, and a bottle of wine. All were great ... and then it went downhill. Not sure if it was the server or kitchen problems. Now, I know it was Valentines but when we arrived there were only about 6 more people. We asked our server for bread 3 times and he kept saying they were running low and working on it (everyone else was getting bread). We ordered dinner (still not crowed at all but starting to fill some seats). We waiting 45 minutes after ordering and still no dinner (3 other tables than came in about the time we ordered got their food - one even ate, paid, and left) stillllll waiting (BTW-our server never came back to our table). We talked to who appeared to be a manager - ended up leaving with no dinner. The man pretty much begged us to come back and try it again sometime ... I mean he could have at least offered to cover our little appetizer just to be nice but nope - nothing! We won't be back ... it's not at all about the money - but at least make an effort if you want to attempt to retain customers.
