Lovely Italian restaurant in downtown Dallas perfect for a date night given the overall ambiance! My fiance and I had a reservation on a Saturday evening and we were seated pretty much immediately once we arrived. Service was great throughout our meal and everything came out in a decently quick manner. We started with the polpette al sugo (meatballs) which came with house-made bread, and both the meatballs and bread were excellent. Then for main entrees, the two of us shared the tagliatelle alla bolognese and vesuvio pizza, both of which were delicious. In particular, we really loved the combination of flavors on the vesuvio pizza which comes with salami, bacon, caramelized onion, and spiced honey -- the perfect blend of sweet, savory, spicy, and umami!

Charming downtown Dallas restaurant across from the JW Marriott valet. We dropped in for a late lunch and the place was empty. It being 2:30pm midweek, no surprise. The staff were friendly and attentive with some good menu recommendations. They have a full bar so I can see this being a very active happy hour spot or place for a couple who work nearby to meet for a date.We had the Focaccia, which is an entertaining way to start a meal. The dipping sauces are very good. The pear salad was a fresh intermezzo and then we had the Rigatoni a la vodka sauce. All good. Overall, the food, service and atmosphere were great. I'll be back when in Dallas and nearby.

For a high-end restaurant, the service really missed the mark. We came here for a friend's birthday with a party of 11, and even though we had reservations, the experience didn't start off great. When we arrived, there were no waters and only one menu at the table. Not a big deal at first, but when the waiter came to take our orders and we asked for more menus, he rolled his eyes and said "yes." It took him another 15 minutes to bring them over.Once we finally ordered, only one person received their main course. They decided to wait until the rest of us were served, but after 30 more minutes, her plate was taken away because it was apparently for another table. Meanwhile, there was confusion with orders between our table and another. At the end of the meal, one of us asked if we could get a dessert for the birthday. The waiter said yes but never followed up. Two others went to ask, and this time he said they were out of desserts, only had gelato left - then immediately said they were out of gelato too, without even checking. As for the food - I had the pappardelle al funghi, which was rich and creamy. We also tried the Margherita Verace; it was good but nothing memorable. I had a bite of the Gnocchi Di Luigi, but the gnocchi felt too large, which made them bland, and the sauce-to-gnocchi ratio wasn't great.Overall, the service felt rude, and the food wasn't impressive enough to make up for it. Not the best experience for a special occasion.

Really enjoyed our food here. We got the calamari, burrata, lobster risotto and the mushroom pasta dish. The fried zucchini in the calamari was fantastic! We thought the calamari was a bit chewy. The burrata was good but pretty lemony or herby for a burrata dish. The lobster risotto was good but I would recommend sharing. It was VERy sharp with the cheese. The waiter gave us a recommendation on the wine and it was great! Try out Aviary. Overall, enjoyed it but would choose something different next time we are in town on business.

I would've given this a better score, but it wasn't about the food, it was about the customer service regard.I made a reservation for (1) for 8:30pm and wanted a table. Upon showing up at the restaurant to dine they attempted to force me to sit at the bar considering I was dining alone. Upon stating that I had a reservation, that I would like a table, that I wanted to enjoy a nice dinner alone, and also that I was traveling for business alone, they still kept suggesting that I sit at that bar. I stated that I would prefer to have a table for comfort, and that sitting at the bar can become cramped. They still chose to push the idea on me sitting at the bar. To avoid further conflict and back & forth chatter, I told them I would just take a seat at the bar, as I was frustrated with the type of treatment that I was receiving and just wanted to enjoy a nice dinner. This is a nice classy place and I was looking forward to trying their food, however, the quality of service and regard was less than favorable for my first experience here. With me also working in the food industry, I understand utilizing tables for certain size parties, especially during extremely busy times, but if the customer follows protocol, has a reservation, and clearly tells you they want a table, then you should respect those wishes to give the customer the dining experience they deserve. Dining at the bar isn't always the best way to enjoy your food in a classy establishment. From everything to arm room, bar noise, sitting in a higher seat, and other things to factor in, dining at the bar is sometimes your last option at a classy establishment. After choosing to sit at the bar, the manager(or could've possibly been the owner/he had that demeanor about him) came over and attempted to then offer me a table and make small talk. This was thoroughly frustrating, as he could have extended the same effort once I voiced my preference. I could understand being asked to sit at the bar if I was trying to just walk in and dine on a busy evening with no reservation. I shouldn't have to show my dissatisfaction to be offered the seat that I initially booked and requested with my reservation in a charity type of way. The food was solid. The Caesar salad was delicious, and the bolognese pasta was a little undercooked, the Prosecco was chilled and flavorful, but overall the food was solid. Great vibe, my server was attentive, and it's a great date night space. They also have a great bar selection and TV's at the bar to enjoy a game or other programming. Honestly with them seeing and knowing that I was unhappy with the experience from the gate, they could've offered and appetizer or something else in consideration to shine a better light on my first experience here, but that wasn't the case. I only want the basic regard that a customer deserves, and I want to have the best experience possible when choosing a new restaurant to enjoy. Sometimes listen to the customers needs versus trying to make things easy for yourself, especially when you have a variety of table options available to accommodate the customers request. Overall they seem like nice people, and of course the space was nice, but I would give them another shot at some point, but this wasn't the initial experience I was looking for.

A nice spot downtown for date night! From first walking in, I was struck by the interior, and it creates the perfect ambiance for date night. Unfortunately the last time we went, the menu was undergoing a transition and didn't have almost anything that we ordered. With multiple options no longer being served, they may want to update the menu or at least let the server know, as we frequently were told throughout the night that our dishes would not be coming out, as the chefs stopped making them. Made it a little difficult to order enough food, or to even know what we would be served!Drinks were fine, a little on the sweet side. On the food:Salumi board: 5/5 such a fun variety of cured meats with fresh mozzarella, and I just wish we had more!Calamari: 5/5 lightly fried and was perfectly paired with the aioli and lemon pepperNY Strip: 3/5 not bad, ordered medium rare but came back closer to medium well. Broccolini was cooked too soft and didn't really have a bite to it. Didn't really seem like a restaurant-quality dishPesce del giorno (market fish): 2/5 very average, didn't taste particularly fresh or a well-balanced dish. Would not recommend. Margherita pizza: 4/5 tasted wood-fired, and it seems like pizza is the star of the show here! Still, felt like the sauce could be more flavorful. Hoping to see their updated menu, but until then, not sure this would be worth a visit.

This restaurant is located a few steps from the JW Marriott on Harwood. We did not have a reservation but it was not a problem and we were seated promptly. The ambiance is upscale and modern. It was a pleasant setting for a meal. The wife and I started with the Italian margarita ($15). They were excellent, even dangerous. I had two. We started with the Caesar salad. We ordered one salad to split but the waitress changed that to two half salads which she said was a bit cheaper. That was fine. The salads, however, had no flavor whatsoever. No garlic, no anchovy, no anything. Zero flavor. That was odd. I have had bad Caesar dressing before, but never one that had zero flavor. The kid had spaghetti with red sauce and loved it, so much that she had a second bowl which almost never happens. The wife had pasta with mushrooms and loved it. The pasta is fresh and the sauce had a deep, robust flavor. It was excellent. I had the Bolognese and it too was excellent. The red sauce had a deep, rich flavor. The pasta was fresh. The red sauce was a bit sweet and not at all acidic. I could not stop eating it, even after I was full. We split a piece of cheesecake for dessert and it was not good. It had a weird texture and did not really taste like cheesecake at all. Neither one of us liked it. Our server Heather was super friendly and helpful. She was energetic and really seemed to like her job. So, the salad and cheesecake were not good, but the pasta dishes were 5 star each. I more or less averaged everything out to come to 4 stars.

So today a group of us went to lunch here to celebrate a birthday. The waiter got one of the orders wrong. So instead of correcting the order ASAP; it took them 35 minutes to correct. Was it busy? Not terribly. Unacceptable.

We went there for Valentine's dinner. They had a select (pricey of course, after all it's Valentine's Day). Yet, you are still meant to share 1 appetizer and share 1 dessert. The main was delicious except for vegetables. It looked like broccolini but was completely tasteless, almost inedible. The dessert of tiramisu missed the mark by a mile. It was on a tough, tough chocolate cookie crust. Again almost inedible. Our waitress messed up our order but eventually made it right.
