Arepas & Sand Wish

This was my second time coming to this place and well things changed. The prices are outrages and the hidden fees once you go pay ( since you gotta do everything your self here ) are very unclear. Flavor is good and the store itself is clean and nice but I feel like when you go there, you are your own waiter/waitress since they don't even ask how the meal is or if you need anything else. Crazy to pay over 50 dollars for a meal for two. The "big" arepa still small. If you are going to charge big, at least make the meal worth its price. 3 dollars for a can of soda is crazy. I'm surprised they don't charge for ice cubes and straws too.

Me and my boyfriend each ordered two burgers from here. I got the meal deal which comes with fries, burger, and drink. My boyfriend only got the burger. Our total was $28. The food was good but felt like for $28 the portions were too small. The burgers were pretty mid-size/small. And for my chicken burger the chicken was very thin- like paper thin. the fries tasted fresh and yummy though.

Wow. Just moved into the apartments close by and was looking for some dinner. So glad I gave this place a chance absolutely delicious. Patacons are HUGE. Coffee is delicious and authentic tasting. Really enjoyed. Staff was very friend and fast.

Everything is so flavorful and amazing! The amount of cheese they give is crazy, which most people would like! Staff members are always helpful and easy to talk to. The place is always clean and bright! I've tried almost everything on their menu and they have always been incredible. I'd normally think food pictures look way better than the actual food but for this place, their food pictures in their menu don't even do justice, the food is better than it looks in the pictures!!

Super Delicioso! First time trying this place. Food was amazing, super flavorful and well made. We tried the arepas (Pelua, Domino, reina pepiada), mini patacones with shredded beef and mago and passion fruit juices. The place is super clean and the decoration is beautiful! we will go back for sure, the drive is worth it.

Let me start by saying this place is in general ok. The staff is friendly and the venue very clean and with a nice modern decor. I was disappointed with the quality of the food and the pricing. I ordered an arepa and the outer texture was very stiff like it had been made several hours ahead. The shredded beef lacked personality. It was bland. Then the prices: An arepa and an a bottle of water was $16.50 roughly. A can of coke $3.50. The prices are out of touch with a self service type of establishment. I don't plan to return. Sorry.

I haven't been here since moving to Texas last year and I can see there have been some updates! There's a cute swing for a little photo opportunity but very close to customer seating so a little impractical. I feel the same about the food as my last visit; tasty but could be better. The arepa is fried to perfection as you still get the soft chewy center. I had the pabellón and was wishing for one more platano maduro at the bottom of my arepa. I knocked a star because after checking in and reading the most recent reviews, I proceeded to double check my receipt and experienced a similar concern. A "non-cash adjustment" for 3%; additionally each item is charged approx $0.10 more than advertised in the menu. The food is tasty but ethically this is questionable as tax is already being charged. Any additional credit charges should be displayed.

I had the Patacon here and it's pretty good for the serving size but I've had better. I haven't tried their Arepas but if I'm ever in the area again I might try it out. I've been to other Venezuelan spots that serve some similar food but just have better taste.

This is for the Greenhouse Road location: The food here was excellent, as was the service from the young lady working the counter. The manager, however, is the reason why I will never again visit this restaurant.When I pointed out to the lady working the register that I had been overcharged for both of my items, and was charged a mysterious 4% "non-cash adjustment" she was very apologetic and offered to call her manager so that I may speak with him. I was greatful for her helpfulness.I restated my complaint to the manager and he told me that the prices on their menus (and online) were the old prices and that the computer had updated the new prices. First, it is up to the restaurant to ensure that pricing is up-to-date and accurate. Second, no computer can adjust pricing on its own without human input...so, wrong answer. Now, keep in mind, he never apologized for the mistake he simply put all of the blame on the computer system. Then, when I asked about the "non-cash adjustment" he again said that it was set by the Point-of-Sale system (Clover). I frequent other establishments that use Clover and have either been informed of the debit card fee in advance, or was not charged one. Again, he failed to accept responsibility for the hidden fee and blamed it all on the computer.This is poor customer service and even worse management when you do not apologize, do not accept responsibility, and try to mislead the customer by blaming everything on a computer system.Unfortunately, I will not return to an establishment that is dishonest and irresponsible. Be careful if you plan on going here.
