Stopped by this place before a massage on our way back to Dallas from Seattle--it was awesome!! The salsa is spicy and delicious, not bland like a lot of places. My soup was HUGE and super hot with lots of chicken and avocado--DELISH. My fiancé had the chimichanga with ground beef that he said was very good. I had a margarita which the owner, Archie, said she pre-makes herself in-house--it was DELICIOUS. The best part was the service--Archie works the restaurant like a performer working a room. She's HILARIOUS and makes you feel like family. WILL be back!

This restaurant was originally Lago Azul in Des Moines, WA. So naturally we followed when we found out the opened a new location. Good portions, quality food. The Pollo con Crema, the Soup, the Carne Asada. I'm not a margarita fan but everyone raves about their Cadillac Margaritas made with fresh juice. We love the family of owners too!

We moved back to to Seattle in December and have been testing various Mexican/South American joints on the south end. Archies was our fourth test site and suffice it to say, we won't be looking further anytime soon. From the chips and quac to the fried ice cream, everything we ordered was outstanding and the service exceptional. Archie is female and the owner. She was very friendly and accommodated our every request. The sauces and meats were extremely tasty and the portions generous. The presentation was mouth watering. When the plates arrived, the burritos were topped with a luxurious layer of bubbly, melted cheese that made you want to dig in and devour. Archie's may not look as fancy as Azteca or Viva Mexico, but once you taste the food, you won't care.

We attempted this place again after four or five years - sorry to say the food was terrible. My taquitos were burnt and the beans were tasteless and oily. My husband's had what looked and tasted like American cheese. The only redemption was the service! Everyone was friendly and always quick to respond. They checked on how we were doing several times.

Ever 4 star + review is right on. this place is awesome. the owner is gracious and kind, the food rocks. I accidentally forgot about Archies today and wound up somewhere else and boy did I regret it!! Halfway through our terrible experience we went .. we should have gone to Archies!!

I have been in Burien since 2010, and I never stopped by Archie's. Perhaps, I just am not big on Mexican food as I know they can be heavy on cheese, cream, and beans. Finally, I decided to grab some Mexican food just because it's right there next to my apartment complex. My thought of Archie's is it's an okay restaurant if you want a quick bite of Mexican food. The hostess and the waitress were attentive and served us chips, salsa, pickled vegetables, and refried bean dish. The menu consists of huge entrees portion, and you have your choices of dinner combo, too. There is also the selection for smaller dinner entree if you're not a big eater like I am. The one thing my fiance said is this place serves processed cheese, which is a no-no for him already. Other than that, I have no intention of coming back to Archie's, though the pickled vegetable dish was good.

Good vibes!The great thing about our visit is we connected with the owner, who was running around with little to no help, serving everyone quicky and efficiently. It's fun to get to know the heart and soul of a restaurant. The other great thing was that the food was comforting, it was warm on a cold, rainy day. We came in spur of the moment, grabbing dinner after work. It just so happened that the beer cooler was broken, so no beer for hubs. We decided to share the Molcajete, and it was definately large enough to fill us both. It was a mix of beef & chicken, covered in delicious red sauce with onions, tomatoes and mushrooms (we opted for no green pepper), covered in cheesy goodness. Our dish was loaded with button mushrooms, and they were devine. It was served with a plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo & avocado. With the complimentary chips, salsa and refried beans, we had more than enough.The interior was typical for a mexican restaurant, a bit on the worn side. The service was quick, food was piping hot! A good option in the area if you're craving comforting mexican food.
