WHY WHY WHY is this incredible cafe closing?! Do not like! Well, that just mean's it's the Spring/Summer of Archie's!Went here for an art opening/music show - it was fantastic!!! The bar area itself has the vibe of a Spanish bar - very comfortable, neighborhood-y, and friendly. The adjacent space has plenty of room for a li'l stage and more displays of art. Outdoor area has tables, chairs and couches - very appealing!!The food - we both had an Italian Beef sandwich, and it was very good. All the drinks we had were great. Staff was friendly and adorable. If you guys are closing, consider opening back up in Edgewater Beach on Bryn Mawr - my neighborhood would welcome you!

Archie's is definitely that charming neighborhood spot you can just picture yourself spending hours at. We stopped in on a Saturday evening looking for a cup of something warm before walking to get dinner. Immediately upon walking inside this little bar, you're struck by a friendly quirkiness that continues throughout the entire establishment. It looked like some of the patrons had already begun drinking alcohol ... but when we asked the girl at the counter if they were still serving coffee, she smiled and said, "Of course!"We ended up staying much longer than we anticipated ... because a couple of local musicians showed up to perform a live jazz show. This added even more to our experience, as we crammed into the adjoining room to the bar so we could listen better. That impromptu feeling ... of just wandering in and happening upon live music ... makes a quick weekend visit all the more exciting.Although we didn't end up ordering food ... the dishes they were serving to other folks looked and smelled amazing. The only thing I would change is the way the chairs and tables are set up. They're mismatched and sort of shoved together at points ... which means you might have to get extremely close to another customer in order to squeeze into your seat. I suppose that also might be part of the indie charm ... either way, I can definitely see myself returning on my next visit to the Windy City.

I know it's announced that Archie's is closing at the end of this summer, but that's just even more reason to come in and try it while they're still around. Amazing food with a nice seasonal menu, had some Sunday brunch: mochas, curry lentil soup, potato garlic "pizza," roasted tomato and prosciutto breakfast sandwich... everything DELICIOUS. Good vibes all around, super cozy interior and very personable staff. We will miss Archie's but try it while you can.

Archies is like Brigadoon, it is nestled on a street that many don't know exists. That is OK with me. This place has great cuisine, overwhelmed service and an incredible atmosphere. Archies has no website but an active Facebook page. They are known for their pizza Fridays and Pasta Saturdays. Their salads are great and also have a good cocktail list. What is best about Archies is it's authenticity. Students and locals commingle and hang outside in a sprawling fashion. Everyone is engaged in conversation and having fun. In the background is live music with the red line going back and forth.I cannot say enough good things about Archies. It is a neighborhood treasure that does well with its size and purpose. Come on by, take a seat, order a cocktail and relax in a little bit of heaven.

Weird hours. Call before you go maybe? It got great reviews but you have to plan it all out in advance I guess. It's not totally clear

Came here on Thursday during the pasta night and was not disappointed. Apparently Thursday is always pasta night, Friday is pizza and Saturday is more drinks and bites plus rotating entres. There is live music there starting at 7 to 730 on those days. The food service starts around 530 545. Overall I would check their Facebook for the latest and greatest. I recommend coming here at 6 because it is less crowded and the band is already warming up. It was enough music for me, the concert times in the evenings usually draw a bigger crowd. In this pandemic I liked the less crowded time. The service was great and the food was delicious. I thought both pastas were amazing but I would definitely recommend the mushroom Ravioli over the duck Ravioli any day. The duck Ravioli did have an amazing sauce though. The vegan chocolate cake and the lemon mousse were very delicious and overall their pastries looks great. The espresso was good too. Only thing I was unimpressed with was the house red. Next time plan to try something else.

I like it...The service is good very, the team is inviting. The ambiance is quirky, rustic, and whimsical. The menu is creative. The dessert options are so good. I had a carrot cake and I had was excellent. The focaccia pizza was flavorful ... the doey but decent ... Breakfast sandwich was awesome.

Server was extremely rude. She told my daughter they didn't serve food until after 5pm. There were people eating and pastries on the counter. We watched others enter, order, complete their beverages/snacks and leave before we were served by the rude waitress. Both of our drinks were OK at best. Two stars only because they allow dogs, otherwise zero.
