Absolutely in love with this restaurant. The interior is warm and inviting with the wood accents and enormous skylight. The sushi was fantastic with such perfectly seasoned rice. The service was kind and accommodating. We sat at the sushi bar, and our sushi chef even gave us a few free pieces ! Could not recommend this place enough

Solid 4 stars. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. I'm a thigh vs breast guy. Loved the juiciness. My girlfriend enjoyed her poke bowl. She loved how fresh the tuna was.

Spoiler alert, I absolutely loved the sushi at Arami! We were seated pretty quickly upon arriving and everything on the menu looked amazing!Things we ordered:*Special roll that had crab - this was really good*Another special roll that had scallop - delicious!*Maguro Spicy Sake roll - this was good, though I wish it had more of a kick to it!*Shrimp nigiri - good*Butter fish nigiri - melted in my mouth!*Scallop and clam noodle dish with cream - this was amazing! This seemed like an Alfredo dish, but better and lighter!*the only miss was that we ordered what's e thought was an eggplant side, but what we got was an eggplant roll, which was fine but not what we wanted.I will agree with people who felt this was overpriced, as the rolls are $20 and nigiri is $7+ per piece. That said, this is a great treat! And what I loved is that their rolls are pretty unique and really good combos! Would absolutely recommend this is a special meal!

A very solid 5 star food, but 4 stars because pricing is high. We went on a Thursday evening and the staff was lovely and attentive. We ordered a variety of items across each menu section, as well as sake, beer, and whiskey. One thing we didn't like was it was a quiet evening and they sort of pushed us out after 2 hours, even though we were still ordering drinks, to close early.

4 star for food 2 star for service during first day of restaurant week. I did not catch the name of our server or perhaps she didn't introduce herself .my friend and I did not appreciate her approach to service and was extremely pushy and ended up being almost to the point of rude towards the middle of the service. For restaurant week, we ordered mushroom medley over rice appetizer( preset item), a six piece nigiri main course and a chocolate mousse/tiramisu bowl dessert, all delicious but the portions were tiny.

Decent sushi spot but maybe a bit over priced. Both sushi rolls were pretty fresh but there was also basically only one non spicy sushi option and the spicy one we got was quite spicy for a Japanese place. The mazemen and karage were both good. The drinks were ok nothing special. The space was pretty cute there were plants and a sky light in the middle section.

My boyfriend gifted me the Ichiban Omakase experience for the holidays this year. We went tonight, and were BLOWN AWAY! Heads up for general knowledge, it is an expensive experience, but you know it going into the process and it is so worth it.We came for the 6pm seating. If you get there early that's ok. You can sit at the bar. I had a really good cocktail with lemon, sake, ginger, and elderflower in it! When it is time you are taken to sit at a special counter space next to the sushi bar. The chef is there waiting and he was so friendly! It was a bit busy tonight so he gave us a heads up he was working on some other tickets too, but that was totally fine. Every staff member we met tonight was welcoming, friendly, and happy to help. As the 16 course experience began I honestly can't say enough how delicious it was. I had some of the best nigiri I've ever had tonight. Some pieces that really stood out were all 3 different tuna's, the scallop, the yellowtail, and the salmon. We also had delicious miso soup with clams in it! We already love sushi, but this was so much more. The atmosphere was great and the food is 100% worth the price. If you have never experienced Omakase's then you MUST look into Arami for this experience. I even personally decided not to take any pictures so I could truly just be in the moment (except the cocktail which was delicious!)

Is Arami worth the trek during the freezing bomb cyclone? YESWent for the 16 course ichiban omakase at the sushi bar. Many cancellations due to the weather = a super intimate experience (was only us and the executive chef at one point). All the fish were very fresh. For the nigiri sushi, Just the right tad of twists without going too far off like I've seen with some restaurants putting truffle on everything, excess wagyu, etc. We came to enjoy the fish and it did not disappoint to fulfill our cravings.Very extensive sake menu with varying sizes including a sake flight if you so wish.Executive Chef Lopez was efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly which transformed our meal to the ultimate foodie experience. Service: excellent Only thing they probably need to work on is dessert. The truffle at the end was not impressive. Save your calories.Bottom line: on my go-to omakase list when I visit Chicago againPro tip: ask for the fresh wasabi (if available)

Yum! A solid sushi spot. They have a good selection of rolls & nigiri, but also cold and hot dish options. The hamachi maguro and trio maki rolls were fresh, delicious, and hit the spot. I also enjoyed the mazesoba, which was a dry udon dish.

Arami used to be the place I would take visitors to have an amazing sushi and dining experience, but those days are over. Two things that should NEVER happen but did yesterday: 1) rancid oysters leaving the kitchen and getting to our plates and 2) not asking about allergies and sending kitchen help to serve our dessert without being able to tell us what it was (part of he omakase). It turned out to be peanut-based and I'm allergic to peanuts. This was after we almost puked from the oysters. Maybe you get that experience at a Denny's but absolutely inexcusable at a place that charged us $360 for 2. I don't blame the staff, they were short handed and our waitress was recently hired so this is on management. On a positive note it was the best soy sauce and unagi I've ever had in my life. But unfortunately that was overshadowed by the whole experience.
