For a town of Sprinfield's size there are a lot of things missing. This isn't a sleight (or isn't intended to be) but an observation that there's opportunity, likely for anyone who wants to open a lot of things (movie theater, clothing stores, restaurants in particular). One thing we noticed they DO have a good variety of are Mexican restaurants...not just strip mall Americanized family diner Mexican restaurants but also authentic Mexican, taco joints, Salvadoran places, and this one---simple, authentic Mexican food with a few particular special focuses (tamales, fajitas). The food we had on our recent stop was really, really good. I kept it simple and went with a taco salad. Some places serve those up bland, some standard (filling but nothing to write home about). This one stood out for the bowl--the flakiest, airiest yet crispiest taco shell bowl I've ever had a taco salad in. It was filled with fajita grilled vegetables, spicy chicken, and creamy cheese sauce. Plus it came with a side plate of rice and beans, fresh pico, and fresh veggies. Very good. My wife ordered a plate of chicken tacquitos (tight rolled chicken tacos deep fried). Her only complaint was that after 3 of them she wished for two more!My only complaint--and it'd cost this place a star if the food and service weren't so good--was that the bathrooms were a nightmare. We both (my wife and I) made a stop and the men's and women's rooms (respectively) and hers was flooded with water (I noticed the water leaking under the door out into the bathroom hallway) and mine greeted me to a toilet devoid of all water and stained hideously with grossness. Luckily there was plenty of clean paper towels, hot water and soap but I'm thinking they need a plumber ASAP if they want to maintain that 98 health score.Anyway, well worth a stop if you're looking to choose from 1 of about 15 good basic but authentic Mexican dishes.
