Anthony's Fish Grotto

Our server was sweet and knowledgable of the menu and accommodations. We ordered calamari to start and it was great! We then had a tuna melt, the bay combo, and a couple other things. I didn't even take pictures because we dug in so fast. Everything was fresh and delicious! Drinks were delicious as well. Other than food, I loved watching the ducks swim around and even walk by. So stinking cute!! Also dog friendly to patio seating.

A most festive ladies lunch with excellent service from Silvia. Our drinks were kept filled and our food orders were delivered quickly and we felt very well taken care of.Food was excellent and we appreciated the smaller portion plates that were offered. My salmon and cod and coleslaw was just right and very tasty and the two ladies that ordered the avocado salad with shrimp both commented on the delicious dressing and took half their salad home. The trout almondine with fries was also delicious. The warm soft rolls with two types of flavored butter were yummy as well.We topped off our meal by sharing the dessert special of the house and that was enjoyed by all!! Excellent spumoni ice cream and rum sauce cake!!We were fortunate to see many ducklings and water birds today. We chose to eat indoors because of the humidity today and it was very pleasant I side and not too cold. Lots of patrons were enjoying outdoor lakeside dining in the shade.A good time was had by all!

For the many that have been to the bend of Broadway and walked along the embarcadero past the many ships you would have come across one of the best Sea Food restaurants that had the personal touch with the personal greetings from the owner that would come and visit the many families. That was the Broadway Pier Anthonys Restaurant with the great touch of the personal family service that so many kids liked to come to the restaurant with the special deserts they serve. Anthony's restaurant the one restaurant that had so many years of History with the welcome to the many service men and the women that came off the ships with great food and when they departed the city docks and arrived back overseas. The many times that I had visited the restaurant the great service with the best food when you have some of the best soups which make great meals even better. Through the years the many things that were changing the use of the pier and the ships that came to San Diego it was the many changes that Anthonys had to change the Anthonys Restaurant and close Embarcadero. The many locations they had in San Diego with the Family Oriented Restaurant that was located over in the City of Lamesa was located behind the Grossmont Hospital. The Embarcadero Restaurant with some of the best romantic atmosphere you could have dinner outside with the best lunch they serve with the great service and some of the best prices you could find the best lunch. In the city of La Mesa there was the family oriented you could bring your aunts and uncles with the seafood bar and the great cocktails they Lamesa Anthonys restaurant it had more elegance and the chance for the kids to feed the ducks and the geese they have there when your table was ready, they would page your name. Anthonys was the best restaurant with the great welcome at the front door the servers many of group had the best knowledge of the food and the wine. Lamesa Anthonys is one where you could go and have a great lady's luncheon with some of the best homemade herbal bread and the many butters they serve. The many years that I had visited the restaurant that I had found the Lamesa was the one place that you could come and bring your kids with the weekends the many couples would come to dinner they would be waiting near the ducks for the table call or now serving Mitchell party of 7. The great history of Anthonys Restaurant has been one of the greatest places as a Yelp Elite you could come and have some of the best clam chowder the red and white. With the courteous service and the selection of plates you could have the best in Bay Shrimp Cocktail and the Coconut Shrimp which is the best. Anthonys is one that have some of the best family customer service and the at the Duck Pond that is outback makes the night even more relaxed and the one to be ready for a great dinner.

If you want a beautiful view with your lunch or dinner this is the one. Small lake/pond with little ducks and fountains with greenery surrounding it for privacy. Crowd is mostly older and so is most of the staff but good service and friendly. Food is not bad so if you happen to be in the area it's good choice.

Anthony's Fish Grotto is an awesome spot that my coworker and I visit every few weeks after work for a quick bite. One of the highlights of this place is the cute little lake outside, which offers a charming and relaxing ambiance perfect for unwinding.The happy hour and lunch menu are both decent, providing a variety of tasty options to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood or other delightful dishes, Anthony's has something to satisfy your cravings. A word of advice: the drinks here are always strong, so keep that in mind when ordering. Overall, Anthony's Fish Grotto is a fantastic place for good food, strong drinks, and a lovely lakeside dining experience.

This place reminds of the restaurants that my family would visit when it was a special occasion when I was young. Love the pond that has both indoor and outdoor seating surrounding it. At night it's great too. The service has always been good here. I do enjoy the food but I will say it's more on the old school style of plating. Great portions.

I unfortunately didn't get any photos of the food here because I was so busy with family photos, etc but the service, views and food here were all excellent.We had a private party for dinner in the back corner and the server was so attentive and bent over backwards to make it really nice. The food was fantastic. There was a lot of shared food like the calamari and coconut shrimp. I also had the Brussel sprouts that was tasty. My main dish was the chicken picatta and shrimp scampi and it was so good.I'm not sure if my family brought dessert or they provided but they brought both a cheesecake and chocolate cake out with candles and it was amazing!The view and lake is really pretty and this place was such a gem. Reasonable prices and good food.

This is a classic mainstay restaurant in the San Diego area. They used to have many restaurants but there is a special place in my heart for this particular location. I have always ordered the Squid Steak at Anthony's. It is seasoned, prepared with a light breading, and cooked perfectly to tender. Green beans came as a side. There was a dinner roll with the meal served with a tomato compound butter. The dining room was very comfortable and seating is within view of the lake in the back. Outdoor seating is also available.I have been coming here to dine every since I was able to walk so there are years of good memories. It used to be that you were able to walk on the perimeter of the lake on one side to look at the waterfowl. I remember one time when I was a young child, I spotted a goose near a gated area who immediately waddled toward me. We were both the same height. The goose and I stood in front of each other for a very long time; I thinking that this was an amazingly large "duck" and the goose probably thinking that I was a very short human being.

This is the best seafood restaurant in East County. Whether you order fish or a burger, the food is splendid. The salad is nutritious...I'd recommend the Cole Slaw with pineapple. The main course will fill you up, though, and will make you want a take home box...that is how excellent their menu is. Try either the fish and chips or burger...this is no McDonalds, but real food ! Try it!

I just left Anthony's 8/12/24. Our reservation for my grandmothers 83rd birthday was at 1 and we were seated near the glass with a beautiful view of the lake. While the ambiance and scenery was great I was highly disappointed with the service and quality of food and beverage. The busser, and older short gentleman, came by and took some plates and my grandmother asked for a refill on her Arnold Palmer, not realizing he wasn't our server. The busser got it but when he came back my grandmother went to give him a dirty linen napkin and asked for a new one and he very rudely said no and that we need to ask our server. Being in the industry myself, being a busser and a foodrunner, I'm often asked for things that the server is generally in charge of. Never have I ever said no or seen someone of any position say no for something as simple as getting a clean linen. The way he went about it put a very sour taste in my mouth. It wasn't like she was trying to order an entree through him and it was not very busy. My grandma went to then bring it up to the server, RJ, and when he brought the clean napkin he said "well you have a napkin now so", totally disregarding the fact that she felt disrespected by staff. Other than that interaction RJ was nice enough and attentive. My QC fish was soggy and lacked flavor and my beer, while normally a very clear ale, was cloudy and separated. Something was probably wrong with the keg. Listen- I'm not one to complain or write reviews since I understand we have off days in the industry but it just left a very sour taste in my mouth. Overall I'm disappointed that my grandmother was treated like this and disregarded on her birthday when she was so excited to come and specially requested Anthony's. The hosts on the other hand were great and very sweet with her.
