Love love love An's! After we heard they were officially ranked #1 ice cream in the nation, we had to stop by. The staff takes their time to make sure every customer has a great experience, so expect a line and be patient! They treat you to a "flavor tour" of their current available flavors (flavors change every 2 weeks) so you get to give everything a try before you pick your flavor(s). The inside is simple and definitely pays homage to the original historic feel and background of the building. The staff were kind, enthusiastic and very helpful all around.Best of all, when we went all their flavors were 100% gluten free!! Not sure if they always are, but as the wife of a celiac we were totally stoked nonetheless. Also, they have gluten free ice cream cones!! Definitely a 10/10 experience, and totally worth the visit. The portions are also huge, so come ready to enjoy some amazing gelato! We will absolutely be back and ready to also buy some take-home ice cream pints.

Friendly customer service, they alerted the line of a flavor that ran put, nice sampling of all flavors, but the line is ridiculously long outside. You literally need a camp chair b/c there is only 1 bench & it's closer to the entry (so if you cannot stand for 30-45 minutes bring a chair, stool) The kitchen needs way better ventilation & the place is small with one entry. They really needed a better location. The location is BAD for parking. I almost choked from the smokiness of the waffle maker. It was not pleasant to smell smoky, almost burnt waffles? ****Beware of homeless weird men smoking & ogling young women. I thought I was going to need to defend some young girls from a creeper whostopped beside me & stared at the one girl....Situational awareness! Luckily he walked off mumbling & no confrontation happenedIt was an interesting experience. I would prob never return b/c of the line.

Worth. The. Wait The line can seem daunting but it's well worth it to try An's unique flavors!First timer and tried the flavor tour. Honestly appreciate this offering as it seems more efficient to me than waiting for customers' "ummm's" on deciding which flavor to try LOLI think they have a well oiled machine operating. The employee outside was so nice and friendly talking to each and every customer. Great people skills and appreciate him going into the history of An's. He's a senior in high school and amazed at his customer service. BravoHighly recommend the waffle cone! So so delicious. Best waffle cone I've ever had. Tip: eat there. Don't try to walk and eat like me.

Food: great gelato Service: Long line waited for 30 minutes or... but when you finally get your turn to have your Gelato scooped up they treat you like their only customer. It was amazing to try all the flavors of Gelato before deciding what to get. Flavors are one of a Kind. Its worth try all before getting your scoop. Ambiance: They kept the original decor as a dry cleaning and it adds to their appeal and marketing scheme. Worth a try when you are in San Diego.

It was my first time here this past weekend. A friend of mine mentioned that they were the Best in the U.S which I had no clue. Let's start off by saying around 9pmish in the evening on a Saturday it was 44 minutes to get to the front door. I highly recommend people with patience to visit. One thing I loved was that prior to entering the shop, they give you a flavor tour of what they have available. They asked about allergies and everything to ensure a great experience. They had many delicious flavors; Tongue Pop, Burlap, Bandana, etc. I expected to be huge into the Cypress because I'm a chocolate lover but it would've been better (in my opinion) with chocolate chips or brownie bites in there. I'm lactose intolerant so of course sacrifices were made, so to mention it would've been great to have more vegan options. Overall Burlap was delicious, Purple Foulard. I ordered a small cup while I was there with Cypress and Purple Foulard since the Purple Foulard included a crunchy texture I was looking for. I'd maybe come back and wait in lie to try different flavors as they change.

We waited over an hour in a sketchy alley to get our clothes dry cleaned! Haha jk jk...we got America's #1 voted ice cream/Gelato. The wait was worth it for the experience you get. This is a cute little shop in a semi sketchy area. You would have no clue what it was if you were just roaming and passed by it. Once we made it in, they gave us a full flavor tour - letting us try all the flavors they had for that month. They also explained the menu options as they were all in "dry cleaning" terms. Note: Don't be fooled by the cute little short cup size. They pile a whopping 2 Scoops on that thing! It was definitely way more than I needed. My favorite flavors were the Sandals (blue chamomile) - it was such a unique tea flavor and color and I knew I would sleep well that night after indulging in it - and the Purple Foulard - cream cheese, berry jam, and Graham crackers - such an amazing combination of flavor and texture. Others in my group enjoyed the Cypress - midnight chocolate - which was comparable to eating a brownie batter. This was definitely a great experience and I am so happy that my Instagram used targeted ads to point me to it (one of the few times that I am glad my phone is listening and tracking me haha) We found free Parking on the street a couple blocks away since it was later at night when we went.

With ice cream being my favorite dessert, I had to try out the #1 Ice Cream Shop in America (USA Today). And it was worth 10-minute wait in line to just get in the door. They give you a taste tour that's very informative and yummy . The gelato is made from scratch using fresh local ingredients and the unique flavors change every two weeks. I had the Carbon Fiber (cold brew Nutella and the Bandana (blueberry butter crumble) flavors! I shared some pics of the cute, quaint vibe they have going on with the dry cleaning theme :-) #JamersonEATS #SanDiego

Came here this past Saturday during comic con weekend. Decided to finally come by and see what the hype is all about. Husband waited in line for 15 min and we got 2 flavors. Blue camomile - an interesting flavor Burlap - decent Ice cream was good and tastes homemade, but not sure why the huge rave is about. Hard to find street parking!

The line was super long, but it was expected considering its popularity. I think I waited for an hour or so before getting into the building. Once the place closes, the last person in line will be told by the staff so everyone in line still gets ice cream. You can sample as many flavors and split scoop the cups to get more flavors! The canvas also comes with some type of salt, I personally did not like it but my other friends liked the flavor. Overall, the flavors were very unique. I enjoyed the Velour and leather, but it got slightly heavy towards the end.

Yum is all I can say to describe my experience with An's Dry Cleaning ice cream store in Del Mar. Parking was easy in the underground garage next door. My cone with gelato was delicious. There was a line out the door. It was surprisingly quick. The place is small with some seating outside. This is my favorite ice cream.
