A friend of mine suggested checking out the lunch buffet at this restaurant in Mira Mesa, so I decided to give it a shot. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were seated at a booth. The server was polite and informed us that we could get started with the buffet. My husband and I were amazed at the variety of options they had. The buffet featured authentic Indian dishes such as naan, paneer & chicken tikka masala, chicken kebabs, mysore bonda, idly, rice, rasam, curd rice, pulav, and more. We both loved the paneer gravy and the pulav the most. The food was not only authentic, but they also kept bringing out fresh dishes. A lot of people kept coming in, which speaks volumes about the place.I'm not sure why the rating is low for this restaurant, but I think it's a great place for an authentic Indian buffet. The ambiance is nice and neat, and the pricing is great!

Overall I like the overall taste and quality of the food. All the curries had a nice flavor and the ingredients complemented each other well. At a cost of a little over $15 for lunch you get what you pay for. My favorite was the tandoori chicken, chicken curry and butter chicken. They had these Little naan balls that were tasty and went well with the curries. The salad was a little weak and could have used some cucumber. For dessert there were orange slices and semolina halva that was excellent.I would give the 4 stars if they would only give you "fresh" naan bread and not microwave the papdums. I will go back.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night and it was pretty dead. I noticed the buffet station was empty, so I'm guessing that option is more popular. I got a mango lassi and she opted for the yogurt one. Both drinks were premade and had an artificial flavor. We thought that the yogurt one was more refreshing and light. We shared the chicken tikka, kedai shrimp, and noodles. It took about 30 minutes to get everything, so we were pretty hungry by that time. Everything was pretty good, but my favorite were the noodles. It was so flavorful! I would definitely order that dish again.

The lunch buffet here is so worth it. They have a great variety of options and the food is delicious. The only downside is that you can't change the heat level which is a given, but I prefer more heat in spice level, but understand it should be mild for everyone to eat their food. I've never had Indian desserts till I went here and they were also so good. The service was fast and the restaurant was clean

I came here as part of a group of three for dinner shortly after they opened. There was no wait time and they seated us immediately. We were the only ones in the restaurant so we had their undivided attention. It was our first time there and we weren't too familiar with Indian food, so the server was very patient with us and explained the different types of dishes. Our server recommended items that she enjoyed. My favorite dish was the chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan was delicious! I also really enjoyed the cheese masala dosa. The portion sizes were pretty big and we wanted Stoney so many things so we had a lot of leftovers lol. I would definitely return now that I know more Indian dishes and know I'll want that naan bread more often! The bread pudding was not what I expected but it was still good, it tasted like bread soaked in sweet butter. It is too much for one person to eat on their own in my opinion but I would probably still want to get it again another time.

This is our Third time trying Indian food. My Son is growing and his craving for different Cuisine is expanding. I asked my Yelper friend what are good to have for Indian Cuisine, and she mentioned a lot that sounds so yummy. I know I will be confused about which to order first, so we decided to searched up an Indian Buffet so at least at a Buffet I can try and be familiar with the food I will see and taste since I am new to the cuisine. This restaurant came out on my Yelp Search and it's Called "ANNAPURNA " . We drove right away to try them. When we came we were greeted by a nice lady at the front desk. She even came to me when i was choosing what to get and helped me out with what to pick.I was expecting a very strong seasoning or mild spicyness on their food just like the way we tried on the other Indian restaurants that we've tried, but all of the seasoning was light in this Buffet. I know that what I'm eating is good, but it would be more yummier if the Seasoning was a bit stronger. Its a good place to start to get Familiar with Indian food and we will still be back to try them again on a different day, maybe on different day there is a different cook and will put more seasoning on the food for the flavor to come out more.

We had the pleasure of being transported to India on a recent hosted experience at the amazing restaurant Annapurna in San Diego, California We were invited to try their weekend lunch buffet. Each bite left us satisfied, yet craving more. Here's what we loved: tamarind chutney: bold flavor with a citrus twist the naan and poori were warm and soft the okra pakoda was super flavorful the spinach dal was the perfect texture and taste the eggplant potato curry was a delightful combination of eggplant and flavor-packed spices that left all of us wanting more the channa masala was delightfully delicious and satisfying the sambar was savory perfectionIf you are either an Indian food lover or curious to give it a try, we highly recommend this buffet. It will give you the opportunity to taste everything and go back for what you want more of. Which is exactly what our two kids did!! The menu is extensive and sure to satisfy any flavor palette and desire. It's in a fantastic location in a shopping plaza with ample parking. All tables were full at lunch hour with a constant stream of customers eating there as well as getting takeout. The space is clean and comfortable, and makes for a lovely family meal According to the restaurant: "Annapurna, a Sanskrit word means full or complete or perfect food. We believe that the purpose of food is not only to increase longevity and bodily strength, but also to purify the mind and consciousness." A set of values we truly support and can get behind This kitchen has done a lovely job adding plenty of plant-based items to the menu that are packed with freshness and flavor. We highly recommend and can't wait to go back

Love the weekend lunch buffet. It's a good value. In other Indian restaurants, 1 dish could cost $18. For $2 more you get a buffet. The buffet gets busy - and we had to wait about 20 minutes the first time we tried this place. So our next visit, we went a bit later (almost 2pm) and there was no wait
