Angry Crab Shack

I was craving a seafood boil for my birthday so we walked to Angry Crab for lunch today. They have a nice $15 lunch special that included 1/2 lb of crab legs; 1/2 lb of shrimp; a potato and a small ear of corn. It was the perfect size lunch for me (plus a lot of extra shrimp to take home). It's messy but it's yummy. They weren't busy at all today- service was excellent and everything was piping hot and the right spice level. They did bring me cake and ice cream and sang (really loudly) for my bday. Fun!Good choice and we will be back!

Originally planning to have dinner at a local place in Phoenix, that didn't work out. Still craving seafood, we stumbled upon the Angry Crab Shack. Welcomed by a friendly hostess, we were seated and greeted by our waiter, Ben.The atmosphere was immediately inviting, combining a family-friendly vibe with the feel of a sports bar/restaurant. The theme was nicely executed, complemented by a very nice-looking menu.The menu impressed with a variety of great items. Ben's recommendations were spot-on -- the gumbo was superb, and the catfish basket (glad I listened) along with the fried shrimp were delicious.Angry Crab Shack resembles the Boiling Crab in L.A., but the unique touch is allowing patrons to sign their names on the wall, a cool way to leave your mark. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back. As a seafood lover, it's a must-visit. Although I skipped the messy option tonight (the one where you put it on the table), the overall dining experience was excellent. Plus, it's super affordable!

Enjoyed the food here on New Years. Wasn't expecting much but got a great deal on crab. Everything was super flavorful. My biggest compliment goes to the crab cake the stole the show. I don't know how it was so flavorful with only being crab meat no breading. It was so light and didn't make you feel heavy like normal fried crab cakes.

really good and makes your stomach full. The service was good, the waitress was nice and refilled our drinks, the ambiance was same old angry crab.

Not sure if the quality has gone down due to lack of cooks or what. I have eaten at this location a few times in the past and it was always good. My most recent experience was not great. Service was good and the place was fairly clean. But the food was not good. At all. I got a shrimp and crab leg boil with trifecta medium sauce, a crab leg boil with lemon pepper medium sauce, kids chicken tenders, kids cod meal, and charred oysters. The kids meals were good and fresh. The oysters were horrible. They had a thick layer of Parmesan cheese. When I've had them in the past, it was with grated Parmesan. Underneath the cheese, the oysters were not charred at all. They were just like having oysters with melted cheese. There was no taste of the garlic butter. The seafood boil water was flavorless and oily. My corn, eggs, and potatoes were forgotten but the waitress was quick and nice about fixing that error. I can handle crappy service here and there but I HATE to pay for nasty food. Very disappointed.

Meh at best.If you're on a limited budget then this is a good fit cause they serve limited quality.

This is an updated review. Missing item once again. Used to order from here a lot but haven't ordering much since they messed up my order so many times in the past. I was craving some clams so I ordered clams, mussels and of course. Most of add on items are missing again. No way to opt for re- delivery of missing item. Reached out to the store and the response and customer service staff didn't really care for the mistake. Clams are also poor quality, half of the clams were closed shut. They were attached to the shell, very difficult and some were impossible to detach from the shells. Waste of $45 should have known better. Don't recommend this place at all.

What happened to the Angry Crab I loved. I used to, so look forward to Sunday afternoons taking a seat at the Bar having a beer or two and eating great food with amazing service. Recently went . Wasn't busy. I asked for a recommendation on an IPA and was brought a Stout. When pointing this out to the bartender she said " well im not really an IPA person . So I wouldn't know". Then acted annoyed when I asked for it to be swapped out. My oysters arrived with no condiments or silverware. Of course now no bartender. She was off to the side eating out of a to go box . This continued for awhile. I ordered a little more food . It was prepared and sat on the shelf while she continued eating. Wasn't until I asked her to please grab it. Did I then get it. My advice? Just don't go on a Sunday afternoon around 2 or 3 because apparently that's employee time.

I loved this place! I was visiting the Phoenix area with my cousins for a girls weekend and we really wanted to dig into pots of seafood. We explored yelp for a couple different options and decided the Angry Crab met the parameters of what we were looking for, both in experience and food. We wanted to be able to order a variety of crab, shrimp, lobster, etc. and Angry Crab offers it all. The seafood here is delicious. It's expensive once you get going, but for an "every once in awhile meal" it was worth it. For me, the snow crab and shrimp were by far the most delicious of our meal.Plan to get messy. Really really messy. They have a trough in the back of the restaurant to wash up and don't hesitate to recalibrate and ask for new gloves halfway through. Our server checked in on us regularly and was really helpful in bringing out supplies as we needed them and emptying our bucket of waste as it filled up. She also helped get the lobster out of the shell and with breaking up some of the crab too.If you're looking for a fun, yummy, and casual seafood experience or crab boil, don't hesitate to visit the Angry Crab.

Food was good with a great selection available. Everyone there was very friendly. I will go back
