My favorite chicken parm sub! Thin crispy chicken cutlet and the right amount of sauce and cheese. Perfectly toasted sub roll! It is my go to and I've been getting it for years. Everything else is awesome too - meatballs manicotti all delicious and homemade.

You absolutely cannot go wrong at Angelo's. No restaurant on the East Coast offers more authentic or better tasting food. Some may be equal. The location is divided in two. One half is a casual pizzeria and sub shop that offers an entire page of authentic next to impossible to find Italian dishes including appetizers and main courses. There are always creative, authentic or interesting specials on the chalk board. The pizza is excellent as are the subs. The pizza ranks among Boston's best. The pasta dishes and appetizers are superb.I've been to the "fancy fine dining" side several times and it's top notch. In fact Angelo's was Fred Furth's (former owner of Chalk Hill Winery) favorite Italian restaurant in Boston and when we worked a case together. He would insist I take him here. It's very romantic and also a great spot for a business meeting or guys night out.

A little Italian Gem... in the last place you'd expect to find it!!In Stoneham, on Main Street. Looks like a pizza and sub shop... because it's that too. Angelo's is a great find for those seeking great homemade Italian dishes, individually made and cooked to order. One of the unique features is that it has a fabulous restaurant next door to its own pizza and sub shop!It was a Friday night and reservations are absolutely needed. You know you're there, as the curbstones and some Jersey barriers out front are painted in the Italian Flag colors. A bit of whimsy upon your arrival. Nice. If you drive to fast you'll go right by it, so pay attention to your GPS and look for a bright red neon sign that says "Angelo's"!Walking in the front door, go left for the pizza and sub side... go right to enter the dining room. Once in, hostess greets you right away with a smile. There's a small, yet appealing bar with 6 stools immediately to your left. And it was packed. I had made 6:30 reservations and the seating was 80% full by then. By 7, there was not an empty seat anywhere. We were seated and handed menus along with a wine menu. Upon opening the dinner menu, we noticed one entire side of the menu were featured specials and appetizers. They change it every day on the weekends. Wow!They encouraged us to order our appetizers, salads and entrees at the same time and let the chefs space their serving times. The menu said in bold red, "PLEASE BE PATIENT. ALL OUR FOOD IS COOKED TO ORDER". Ok. I'm liking their approach!!Caesar salad with homemade dressing. My wife had linguine with clam sauce. One of her favorites. 10/10. I voyeured off as my eye caught Pan seared breast of pheasant with potatoes and sautéed veggies. Seldom do I see a special that is that unique. It was fantastic. Seared perfectly. All white meat. Not gamey! Sliced at melted in my mouth!!Great dessert menu but we passed. Full. So. It's a solid "Excellent". It's 3 miles from our house. Regular spot for us now. Do yourself a favor and go have a great dinner with friends!! Make reservations though!!Bon Appetite!!

Gourmet restaurant on one side, pizzeria on the other. We chose gourmet. Joe our server was excellent - funny, helpful, a real character. The experience of having him as our server was worth five stars, alone! Ambiance was top-notch. White table cloths, linen napkins, wine on the table, elegantly decorated. Great for a date night or special occasion! Joe's extensive knowledge of the daily-changing menu helped us navigate to the perfect meal. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic...as was the lobster cacio e Pepe - the presentation was amazing. If we lived in Massachusetts, we'd be back. Don't miss this experience...and say hi to Joe!

It's as if they sliced a little bit off the North End and moved it to Stoneham! Angelo's has a lot of qualities I look for in an Italian restaurant. It's a family-run business where they take care of you, with service that is both friendly and professional, good drinks, and a food selection that is both interesting and delicious. They have a fairly extensive wine list (I even saw some double magnums in the back on a shelf!), but we ordered cocktails, which were also unique. My Rosanna Manhattan was actually more like an old fashioned, with Bulleit bourbon, and an Italian Amaro (Mirto), with a deep, rich color and flavor. For the meal, we started with the breadsticks. I will fight you for these!! The Antipasto Itaiano platter has quite the variety, with my favorite parts being the marinated mushrooms and their freshly made mozzarella. My entree, Pollo All'Arancio, reminded me of many of the lemony-type of chicken dishes I've had, but this time it was with oranges and a medley of vegetables and berries - delicious! I'm very glad I have friends who live in the area, so that we can come here frequently. If I lived locally, I would - like they have - make Angelo's a regular dining spot.

Excellent old-world Neapolitan style Margherita pizza. Authentic, unassuming small, probably family-owned, casual restaurant in conventional American format. Can be a bit difficult to order take-out since they don't do delivery, sometimes go on vacation with only a note on the door and no update to voicemail or website, aren't open Sundays, have an entirely separate front of house operation for the take-out counter versus the dine-in restaurant, and have an entirely inadequate parking lot for how popular they are. That said, still worth it.

This was by far the worse restaurant I've been to. The service was horrible. The bar is small and had 2 bartenders but it to 30 minutes to get a drink. When our friends arrived we sat down and again another long wait to get a drink. The calamari & octopus app was so charred it was not edible. If the waitress didn't tell us that she was putting stuffed zucchini blossoms on the table we would have had no clue as to what it was. They were fried globs of awful. The "homemade" pasta was over cooked and swimming in butter. The swordfish Milanese , the veal chop and the branzino were all so over cooked we left them uneaten. Never once did our waitress ask why no one ate anything. What a waste of money and time.

Amazing Private Party....We recently celebrated an 85th birthday party at Angelo's in their private wine cellar. The venue was perfect for our group of 14 people, the food was amazing and everything was prepared fresh to order (including homemade gluten free pasta). Our server Joe went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met and that' our wine glasses were never empty...Highly recommend Angelo's for either a private party or just a great night out with unbelievable food and even better service!
