Andy's Hot Dogs

It's all about the dogs! Here we start with an all beef frankfurter not too salty (like a Nathan's) and what seems like some kind of brine but, It's the spices like turmeric, garlic and of course salt.The show starts from there! I always start with the Chicago classic dogs to see if they really are up to snuff with the classic boiled hot dog vendors outside Wrigley.Also must try the Chili-cheese dogs! I honestly have to say I need to explore more from Andy's because with all thing's frankfurter I love what I love. This place is great fast, cheap, and I'm a freak but I always check the bathrooms that are impeccably clean, at all stop in's. So go start driving now to And's Hot Dogs

Nice quiet spot with just about whatever you would like for lunch or dinner. I decided on a simple small lunch. I had the polish made Chicago style and yes I added ketchup Andy's has been around forever and the good food is why.

Approaching also made this order great. I ordered the gyro and French fries on pita bread cream at an large side order of the same with hot dogs as my repeat. Quick to prepare and delicious for the most part. Not a long wait. Placed in the surrounding area as decent on all platforms. Clean and a breath of fresh air.

Visited here on my lunch and was in and out in 5-6 minutes. The clerk asked me what I wanted as soon as I walked in. I asked could I get my hot dog grilled and she stated they could prepare it however I wanted. I decided on it grilled, paid only $3.17 for my combo with fries and was handed my order with no long wait. The restaurant offers plentiful seating on the inside and outside (for when the weather is nice) and it appeared to be very clean. My hot dog and fries was hot and prepared to my satisfaction. If you are in the area and looking for a hot dog/hamburger quick meal, this is your place. They have been in the neighborhood for years so that speaks to their service and food.

Though the awning says hot dogs, Andy's offers a lot more. Hamburgers, Philly cheese steaks, chicken burritos, chicken wings, rib tips, BLTs, gyros, tuna salad sandwiches--even grilled yellow fin tuna--are on the menu. But since this was Andy's Hot Dogs and I was in Chicagoland I ordered a Chicago dog with everything. Purists will complain it's not a Chicago dog without a poppy seed bun but so few city places use the bun today I overlook the omission. However, my all beef hot dog wasn't VIENNA BEEF, which I noticed with the first bite because there was no crispy "snap" from cutting through the natural casing. That's a signature item for a Chicago dog. How could Andy's call it one thing and deliver another? I looked at the menu: no mention of a Chicago dog--just hot dogs. No familiar Vienna Beef signs around, either. I'd been hoodwinked and it was my own fault! Still, the original cheap meal of frank, fries and a drink for under $6 served by super friendly staff was a good value.

So... I used to eat here ALL THE TIME. Back before I was writing reviews and during an awesome time in my life when I used to work locally.My husband and I stopped back in one day just recently and it was sweet memory overload. I've never ordered anything bad from here. We often have a hard time deciding what to eat because we wanna eat everything. Even their desserts... so yum.More than anything though... their sweet service. After all these YEARS they still remembered us.I need to make it a point to come back more often. It's far for me now but really so worth it.

This is a grilled cheese and vanillia shake diner. Cant get much better than that...for a vegetarian that is ;)

I stopped at Andy's since it was nearby my moms home. I ordered a polish, fries and drink($6.38). My son ordered the cheeseburger with everything on it. The polish was good, but I have tasted better. Also the fries did not look, taste like the steak fries I remember. These were more like thin cut fries. The food was hot and made to order and they offered more food options like gyros, hot dogs, jumbo dogs and italian beef sausage. Overall, I liked Andy's and would visit again.

If I said that I "casually" ate at Andys I'd be lying. We eat here anywhere from a few times a month to a few times a week!

I second that laura. I've stopped here many times. I haven't had the gyros but I will next time.they are very fast, the fries are made to order and that's a huge plus for me cause I love fresh fries. The Italian sausage Is great my first few times here that's all I got. These guys never let me down they are always very friendly.
