Ok all, I'll keep it a buck fifty. I have a confession to make. I'm a pork cutlet maniac. I know this place serves tofu soups (which are great), but whenever I come to a Korean tofu house, the first thing I take a look at is to see if they do fried pork cutlets. Some do, and this place certainly does, in a big way. The cutlets here are YYYUUUUUGE. I think you can absolutely split it into 3 meals, if you wish: it's that big. So that's awesome. Fried deliciousness, without worry that it's gonna run out during your stay (again, it's big). The service is ok.The ambience is also ok.TLDR: Get the pork cutlet combo, you won't be disappointed. If you don't wanna feel fat, bring a friend to split it with.

Hot stone bibimbap is the best bibimbap I've had. (Been to many soondubu places in LA and OC). The soup however is alright. I find it arrives a bit foamy and evaporated. My Korean in-laws were surprised it was so expensive (more than BCD? They give a fried fish) but overall worth it. Good sides tooI suggest letting the bibimbap sit for a bit until the rice at the bottom is slightly brown. Then start mixing and add sauce to the top so you have crispy rice. 10/10 bibimbap.

Soondubu used to be an affordable and quick dinner options, but in the last couple years, the price has risen so much that it's almost a special occasion restaurant. I still remember a soondubu used to be less than $10 per bowl, but now has risen over 65% to $16.99/bowl, which after tax and tip makes it about $20 each. We came for dinner on a Saturday and there was a massive wait because it's a very popular spot. Among 5 of us, we ordered 3 tofu soups, one combination BBQ Beef Rib + Tofu Soup, and a seasoned cold noodle. The tofu soup flavor was above average. The seasoned cold noodle was very interesting; visually very appealing.Overall, very mediocre.

I used to come here all the time over the years before the pandemic. I came for dinner for the first time in a long time. Like usual, there was a waitlist to be seated. We wrote our names down on the clipboard and luckily were able to snag some of the few seats in the small waiting area. We came about an hour before closing and were seated after a short wait of 10 minutes or so. ALSO, don't fret if you don't speak Korean! All the servers we interacted with seemed to be bilingual. Ordering: The menu features soon du bu aka tofu soup (of course) as well as combos (a meat entree + a bowl of soon du bu) and some other Korean dishes. We opted for just the soon du bu. They are all priced at $16.99 each and you choose from a variety of proteins as well as your spiciness level. Seafood + beef used to be my go-to but this time I opted for just beef, medium spicy. We also ordered 2 more to go. Food: We were offered both ice water and hot barley tea. Banchan (side dishes) included kimchi, cucumber kimchi, beansprouts, and seaweed. They also gave us a raw egg each (to crack into the boiling tofu soup) and a generous stone pot of rice each. Now, what made me really sad was back in the day, they also used to serve pajeon (like a savory pancake with a dipping sauce) AND a side salad with an incredibly addicting sesame dressing. No longer! :( As for our soon du bu, medium spiciness really was not spicy at all?! I was surprised, as I remember medium definitely having a kick before... On a positive note, there was plenty of beef in my beef tofu soup. Service: Despite being so busy, the workers do their best to be attentive! Everyone was very friendly. They brought out my to-go orders, which included banchan, with the bill.Overall, Young Dong is a decent choice if you are craving soon du bu. I'll also vouch for their spicy beef stew (yuk gae jjang). But this just isn't the same delicious food I remember and this time around, it felt like a pretty average, blah meal. I recommend ordering above medium spicy if you're used to spicy food because our mediums barely had any heat whatsoever.

I always order take out and always order the same combos: #1 (bbq beef rib + tofu soup) and #6 (bibimbap + tofu soup). The BBQ beef ribs (galbi) and bibimbap are great, but they're usually a safe bet at any Korean restaurant. What really stood out was the tofu soup. It has more depth of flavor compared to BCD imo. I order the beef tofu soup with no spicy, so it's white, along with the beef & octopus tofu soup. I've also tried the beef intestine tofu soup but found it gritty and it barely had any intestines. The banchans here come in decent portions, unlike BCD that serves tiny sample-sized portions of each. While Young Dong offers 3 banchans and BCD gives you a wider variety plus a fish, the portions here are still more generous. Each restaurant is great with their own hits and misses.

Side dishes are perfecto! I lov the sesame infused seaweed salad and peppery bean sprouts! Pickled cucumbers and kimchi are the right amount of spice and texture.Ordered the #2 tofu soup -- with beef, oyster, clam, and shrimp yummy! Mild was a safe choice but mayhaps I can go a bit spicier next time :) I love every establishment in this plaza as well

every young dong location i've been to has been excellent, and this one is no exception! love love love the tofu soup here--the soup is a little thicker so the flavors come out a little stronger in the best way possible. service was excellent and the atmosphere was bustling. 10/10

Ordered some Pork Katsu to go and enjoyed it with my friend right next to the pool. The portions are a good size for a small girl like me and they have amazing sides. My friend recommended this place to me and I highly recommend. I will have to come back and dine in and order some other stuff but i hear there's always a wait since it's so packed.

Best tofu soup, I ever tasted in my life. There food is quality base not quantity. Their service is a bit different, so be patient. Always look forward to this place and I hope they stay the same but they should raise their prices in my opinion.
