My favorite Korean restaurant for tofu soup! Everything on their menu has been great for me. They have good side dishes and food tastes great. The tofu soup comes out boiling hot and comes with an egg you can crack in. Good flavor on the soup. The BBQ ribs is marinated well and stays hot on their hot plate. The pork cutlet is HUGE and fried perfectly with light and airy crisp. The purple rice has a nice scorch on the bottom. Service is great here! Fast and responsive. They have a good amount of seatings inside. Spacious but does get busy especially weekend nights. Waiting list is only on a piece of paper. My go to place for Korean food!

...I have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant (lol)!!!...Young Dong is a Korean restaurant located in the Albertsons shopping center in Chino Hills. There a big lot, but everyone is always trying to park in the little section in front of this and other restaurants. It can be a real pain if you're just trying to pick up a to-go order or if you're trying to drop someone off at the door to avoid a walk. It's normal for this location to be super busy and to wait- there's a walk up write-in waitlist. Do NOT dine-in if you care about ambiance or want a lovely, quiet dinner. The ambiance is awful. The space itself is a big box jam-packed with as many tables they can fit into its space. Literally rows of tables lined up so closely together you almost feel like it's a cafeteria. On this last visit we were waved over to a table jammed in between two big groups. Because the tables are so close to one another, we couldn't walk to our table. I asked one guy if he could please scoot his chair in and he just working move (lol)?! So the waitress tells my husband to squeeze in from the space in between the two- I looked at her and put my hand on the space that she expected him to fit through- it was literally the width of my hand. SUPER annoying...Then there's the fact that the walls are oddly bare and the lighting is almost neon, so there's an odd cheap and industrial feel to this particular location. But I have to say the food has always been consistently good! The Donkasu is HUGE- thick pork cutlets that are perfectly crispy and not greasy. The soondubu is always consistent, and the Yukgaejang was really beefy and a huge portion! Bibimbap is also yummy- both the regular and hot stone.Banchans are normally a litmus test for how good the food is going to be, and they are normally pretty good here. In all, if you're looking for Korean food and are in the area Young Dong's food is consistently good. If you don't care about service or ambiance, dine in. If not, take out! They do a great job at packaging everything to try and keep it was fresh and warm as they can.

i personally had great service, perhaps it's the time i went- around 7 pm. i saw some reviews saying they docked on the rating since the service was really bad. i got the seafood beef tofu and loved it. it came with purple rice and an egg, and the kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumber, and cold veggie soup combo. my friends got the bulgogi (the $27 one) it had so much bulgogi good portions, it's a little on the pricey side, there's nothing less than like $18 but the food is really good i would come here again the vibes is like your standard asian restaurant. typically families coming in or small/medium groups of friends. it's not quiet, people are talking- it's a good time tho

Love coming here with my partner. It's comfort food to us and the food is always good :) Service is efficient but please be patient if you come on a busy night. The restaurant is usually busy at night! It's typically a nice and comfy place where friends and families gather for korean food. The restaurant serves banchan and you're allowed to ask for refills. My partner and I typically order the soup and entree combo. I forgot to take a picture of our intestine tofu soup but it was really good. We typically have the soup spicy and pair it with spicy pork. But for that night, we also decided to order the tonkatsu and seafood pancake to add onto our meal and they were pretty good. I like the salad that comes with the tonkatsu and the crunch of the fried pork. The seafood pancake also had a nice crunch to it and the ingredients tastes fresh. Overall, I'm always coming back here

Very busy establishment. I heard about this place from a friend and was curious to try a Korean tofu soup restaurant besides BCD and Kaju soft tofu. When you get there, usually it's busy so you have to write your name on a list then wait for a table. We waited 20 min and were seated fairly quickly. The menu seemed very straight forward with Korean soup being the main dish everyone gets while also having other options like the donkatsu. The food was very good and they didn't skimp out the portions it was fairly tasty and filling.I overall enjoyed my experience. Usually when a restaurant has that many customers then it has to be good. Very lively and busy place where people can get a nice soup to enjoy!

BLAND & EXPENSIVE. TAKE OUT REVIEWWhat happened?! Whoever is cooking the food does not know Korean flavors or care. We ordered spicy chicken bulgogi and spicy pork and it was a dark unappetizing color of gochujang red with zero flavor. It was NOT GOOD and not even spicy! My mom said they need to change their brand of gochujang and add some sugar and red pepper flakes. That's how I know it wasn't just me. Their tofu soup was also weird. It was milky and watered down broth. And also not spicy at all. Their bibimbap was salty (vegetables were overly seasoned). The only good thing was the galbi tang soup. It was full of meaty ribs and seasoned perfectly. For over $100 for 4 items that tasted this bad was such a rip off. I will not be coming here after today it seems their quality has changed since the last time I went which was a year ago.

I've been going here for over 12 years and it's simply delicious. Food always hits the spot and is SO craveable. I always get the tofu soup with dumplings--I just love it. The mushroom, seafood...ALL of them are legit. The short ribs are tasty...good marinade. We prefer it over the BBQ beef which is more sweet. The seafood pancake is large and can easy share. The pork cutlet comes out hot, crispy, and super tender. The bibimbap is yummy! The banchan is DELICIOUS. ALL of it...just wish they had the potato ones too. The combos are decent sized and priced well. The service is quick and easy...the ladies are so sweet. The atmosphere is simple...cafeteria like since the tables are all so close to each other. It's a tight squeeze but WORTH IT. Love this place. HIGHLY recommend for good Korean food!

I order take out from this location and loved it! They are generous with their portions and their restaurant is very busy! It carries the aroma of delicious tofu soup and sizzling plates of beef and pork. My family all enjoyed their food. What's unique about this location is that they make a seafood pancake that the diamond bar location doesn't carry. It's crispy and delicious- packed with seafood. I will definitely order from here again next time I'm craving Korean food. Hopefully I can try it in store next time.

This is absolutely my favorite soondubu spot! Outside of their tofu soup, I've ordered almost everything else on the menu and everything has been a hit as well. Yong Dong is my go to comfort spot. As another plus, I think their kimchi banchan also tastes especially good compared to other restaurants. Other than the tofu soup, I highly recommend the katsu since it's huge and has an excellent crisp. Not as popular, I also love the yellow croaker since it's large and actually still has a lot of the roe inside. It can get pretty busy, especially on weekend evenings. However, the ajummas serving you are always fast; the food comes out quite quickly after you order.

I met a friend for lunch and we were immediately seated. The spot is located in an outdoor strip mall near a large chain market, so there's plenty of parking. The restaurant became busy during lunch and by the time we left, there was a line forming outside. The restaurant's ambiance was lively, casual, and decor esthetically pleasant. This would have been a 5 star review, but it was downgraded because our lead server was very inattentive , not very friendly or polite, or took time to review the menu since it was my first time eating here. Once our food was served, she never came back once to see if we needed anything else. Now let's talk about the heart and soul of Young Dong Tofu, the food. The menu boasts of authentic Korean cuisine that transported my tastebuds to various levels. East dish we ordered were a culinary masterpiece with a perfect blend of textures and flavors that showcased the Chef's commitment to high quality and authenticity. In conclusion, Young Dong Tofu succeeded my expectations by satisfying my palate and created an impression to come back with family and friends.
