This review is long overdue, but WIP is an amazing spot!! I have been coming here for quite some time now and just went again this morning. All of their drinks are so creamy and flavorful, I really love their matcha and their rosemary brown sugar latte. Even their food is amazing! Their sandos are SOO GOOD & I could probably eat there everyday if I could. They also have a great breakfast burrito...highly recommend the entire menu lol. Inside is also super cute and aesthetic! It is a great spot for getting some work done, but it is often packed. The service is always friendly and everyone working always has a smile on their face. It is also in a prime location - walking distance to all the Lab and the Camp have to offer! Lots to love about this place!

wow what an aesthetic coffee shop!! work in progress is a shop that's been on my list for quite some time and I finally bit the bullet and made the drive to Costa Mesa to try it. I was so excited to try their matcha with pistachio cream top however, their pistachio cream top is a seasonal item (they currently have the orange creamsicle top). I ended up ordering their matcha with vanilla syrup and it was still very tasty and the perfect amount of sweetness. I also ordered their breakfast sandwich and it was sooo tasty!! I believe they use a focaccia bread for their sandwich and that made the sandwich sooo much better. the bread was crispy and soft at the same time and it was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. parking can be a little tricky because there's so many other businesses in the area. I came on a saturday at noon and their parking lot as well as street parking was pretty full. they have both indoor and outdoor seating, but just like their parking, it can be a little tricky to get a seat as many people like to stay and chat or get some work done.

I've been meaning to come to WIP and had a delightful experience :))The inside is an artsy terracotta-like interior - not the best place to study on the weekends imo as it's not too big and can get noisy since there's a lot of people, but to each their own. I got the caesar sando which was pleasantly light and the bread was so crisp and toasty. The inside has a lemony fragrance that leaves a very refreshing taste and I personally really liked it with the arugula. I also got the rosemary latte which has a pinch of salt to it, gives it a nice sweet/savory taste.+ Service was great and even though they were busy the food/drinks came out in a rather timely manner.Parking can be tricky as it's a pretty popular spot and there are other stores in the area, but it's near other places to visit like the LAB/CAMP!

WIP has been my go-to cafe for years in OC. Although parking is high demand, after a bit of searching there is usually something. Tucked away in the back of the Camp, WIP is a cute, indie cafe with greatly crafted drinks. Their patio gives a cute picnic vibes especially with their gingham tables and wine options. Their seasonal drinks are my fav, and have many great non-caffeinated options as well- like their Lavender Bergamot Tonic rn. Service is quick, personable and an overall chill vibe in there! A great depiction of Costa Mesa style tbh

Loved the Caesar salad sando! Super fresh and great flavor. We also got the Spicy Sando which was similar to an Italian Sub - also great flavor and the bread is amazing. The hojicha latte was a bit grainy but overall decent tasting. It was raining when we dined in and only noticed after we were packing up that there was a large crack in the wall and a puddle started forming on our seat. It led to our items getting soaked but luckily nothing important got damaged. Parking is insane here since it's a tiny lot shared with other stores.

Service was nice and there's a few tables available on a Saturday morning because most people got their orders to go. Dog friendly patio as well. There was a line out the door but it took only 10 minutes and then about 15 minutes for our sandwich and drink orders. It's pretty loud inside so not a study cafe. Parking is terrible since it's at the CAMP even in the morning.Hojicha latte is bad. Don't waste your money. It's mostly milk with barely any hojicha and whatever hojicha they used tastes like something you get from Ralph's in the Asian section. It's also unsweetened so you're drinking milk dirt. Their sandwiches were really good though. I'd suggest skipping their drinks and just getting the food. The breakfast burrito was a little too mushy and you really needed more hot sauce but the breakfast sando was great. Crispy bread and great seasoning. I wouldn't come here just for Work in Progress but if you're in the area and have 30 min to spare to pick up a sandwich, I recommend them.

Came here a couple of times and there is ALWAYS a line out the door. Not a coffee person, but I go for their matcha and hojicha latte. Both are so good! Havent found good hojicha out here in the OC until I came to Work in Progress. I'm sure their coffees are just as great! They also serve food here, small menu, but offers what I crave from pastries to breakfast burritos. Parking isn't great as it's located in a small lot with other businesses. There's street parking though! Even then, it can be difficult to find parking.

Food: 4/5Definitely get the classic sando! We got the one with turkey and it tasted amazing! Bread was the perfect texture, golden and with the slight crunch and the sando was fresh. I also got the maple einspanner which was perfect for someone who likes their caffeine a little sweet. The burrito was also good but it felt like it was missing a little something flavor/texture wise. Service: 4.5/5Line moves fast. Food can take some time but drinks are quick. Ambiance: 4.5/5Love the music choice and the interior is very cute and minimal. Good amount of seating too. Only downside really is how hard it is to get parking :((

It was my first time here and I can't believe I've been missing out on this place! The fresh sando was so delicious and really fresh ingredients with a toasty soft bread. The hojicha latte and maple Einspenner were also solid drinks, and it wasn't too sweet either. The service was quick and efficient, and the cashier helped with great recommendations. The ambiance is minimalistic and small, with few people working or socializing.
