VACA Brunch & Beyond

I took a friend to VACA for lunch! I like trying new places. The decor, wairesses, food, service and atmosphere was amazing! The food was delicious! We put VACA on our list of placles to go, again!

Visited on 1/12We arrived to VACA on a Sunday and the waitlist around 12 was about an hour. Once our table was ready, we were told it's an outdoor table so we opted to wait another 15 mins for an inside table.We ordered the burrito mojado in green salsa with asada and the brisket sandwhich with fries. The burrito was amazing, one of the best, and good size for the price. The brisket sandwich was a bit greasy and could have used more meat, the cheese pulled it together. The fries were light, crispy, and had a great seasoning!The inside of the restaurant has nice decor, enough seating for big parties, and they offer kids high chairs.Looking forward to come back for that burrito again!

Passed by this neighborhood and was looking for a good place to eat. The entrance had this colorful cow display and also heart balloons (this was during February). It certainly got my attention.The interiors looked interesting - a mix of Asian style with colorful artwork. The cherry blossom tree was a cute touch also.I had the following:* Smoked Brisket Benedict - Overall, this was a good dish. The brisket was slightly overcooked but still savory. * Cafe de la Olla - I had this iced vs. hot. It had piloncillo (raw, unrefined sugar cane used in Mexican cooking), cinnamon and star anise. It was like a dessert coffee and was yummy.The food and drink were nicely presented. I was impressed how fast I got my dish which took around 5 minutes! I felt my server was in a rush. Probably because there were a lot of people that came before me. Nevertheless, good customer service. The ladies' restroom was very clean too.This is probably the nicest brunch place in this area.

Fantastic brunch spot in Baldwin ParkEasy parking in large mall They have a large painted cow outside, making it hard to miss, with plenty of people getting their selfies in.Staff were quick and friendly.The standout was their Fresa con crema pancakes with homemade marscapone cheese and fluffy pancakes- something alone worth coming out of the way to try here. We also enjoyed their pork belly Benedict which was solid.I also tried their Birri omelette which was okay. The side of potatoes was stellar though, which helped make up for it. Their cafe de olla was good but not a standout. I think I would get their scrambles instead next time. Overall a great spot to try for brunch.

We met with a couple of my husband's childhood friends that we haven't seen in a while. They live in Baldwin Park and asked them to suggest a place; we wanted to make it easy for them since the brotherIs a double amputee. The sister suggested Vacas, thought we would like it.On arrival, there were many people waiting outside; the wait was no less than 45 mins on a Monday, but it was Presidents' Day. We finally got seated and looked through the menu, peeked around other tables to look at the food; so many choices. We ordered breakfast burrito mojada (with 1/2 & 1/2 bacon and sausage), this was so filling; boring breakfast, and pork belly benedict (this was a little more fatty than I like but I ate most of it); the sauce on the poached eggs was so good. We all picked at the fried potatoes on our plates, they were dried out and not hot. Maybe this is cooked in big batches to save time, but it was the least favorite thing on our plates. I ordered waffles for the table to share; it was yummy but the crema was overkill and wasteful, there were 3 big dollops (1 might not been enough but 2 would've been fine). Once I cut up the waffles, the pate was just full of crema. The juice was good but I think a little pricey at 6.99 a glass (that was almost 2/2 the cost of the breakfast items). The horchata frappe though was like a dessert. There was a little bit of a wait for the food to come out; the waffles took the longest. We would go back to try something else but may ask to sub out the fried potatoes if they part of the plate. We were very full and did not eat the rest of the day.

My husband found this place and surprised me with it while we out in Baldwin Park. We were seated right away and sat next to their large mural on the wall. This place has brunch all day along with mostly Mexican dishes. However, they also have omelet's, skillets, and American breakfast items. Seating is inside and outside, but if you sit outside it could get noisy as they are next to a busy street.I got their Huevos Rancheros ($15.99) with their Pork Belly (Extra $7). It came with two crispy corn tortillas with beans, queso fresco, sour cream, pickled jalapeno's, pickled onions and cilantro. The pork belly was just okay; I should have gotten something different! But what was delicious were those two crispy tortillas! The crunch from the pickled onions and the warm tortilla was just so good. The potatoes it came with were just okay - Next time I think I'll ask for a side salad instead!Applewood Smoked Brisket Skillet ($22.99) - This came with country potatoes topped with melted Oaxaca and Monterey cheese with your choice of bacon/sausage and two eggs your way. We got sausage and it was just okay. The entire dish was just okay in his eyes.We got their Tiramisu pancakes to try ($15.99 + 1.00 for whatever reason) - This came with fresh berries, mascarpone cream, cocoa powder, and expresso syrup. This was not sweet at all, light, fluffy, and very delicious. This was so good; the only dish we had where everything was delicious.This restaurant is on the corner on Maine Ave across from Mamma's Juicery and All That Pho. It shares a big parking lot so parking shouldn't be hard to find.

Alright so right from the start Parking can be hard to find ! Specifically on a busy day. 10/10 customer service - my waiter was very nice and helpful and so were the other waiters. 10/10 Such a cute place to dine . Super clean 8/10 Mazapán Frappe - the frappe itself was amazing! Not too sweet. Only complain is price and portion.7/10 steak and eggs- steak was good.8/10 steak skillet- wow now this was worth the price ! Good size portion and everything taste great!I paid $67 for 2 Each a drink and a plate . For the portions I do believe it's a bit much.Definitely recommended! I'll definitely be back !

This is the third time i come back and that is due to the food. The food all of is great, very delicious, all of it, including the drinks also. The service itself is great too, very attentive waitresses. I really love the place and the ambiance is so relaxing.

Everything was amazing! Sarai was super welcoming, patient, and sweet! Loved the food! Everything had amazing flavor! Todo estaba excelente! Saraí fue muy linda! La comida estaba muy buena, tenía un excelente sabor!

Great service & delicious food! Sarai was the best server and made sure we had everything we needed! The vibe is so cute & homey! Definitely would come back to this restaurant anytime I'm in Baldwin Park! Excelente servicio y comida deliciosa! Saraí fue lo máximo, muy atenta y amable!
