Uptown Taqueria Wen Chef

Great food for the price ! Great option for fast food. Will definitely go again !Authentic Mexican food great tasting salsa.

My husband and I were craving menudo, so we decided to come here as our previous experiences with the food were good. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the menudo. I had asked the server if it had hominy, prior to ordering. She said it did.BAD MENUDO:1)menudo had no hominy when it came out and we addressed that with the server but never got back to us2)the menudo had an awful smell3)the menudo had a layer of fat, that solidified on to my spoon. DISGUSTING!! We didn't even touch it and we just walked out. VERY DISSAPOINTED. WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Food is good and I have been here a few times. But today what a disappointment came here during lunch hour order my food 40 minutes and excuse us because they had a big order of burritos. They only have one cook in the back I get it. Sometimes you get slammed with orders but you should have someone else cook back. I don't get it. so I only got to eat lunch within 15 minutes before I had to go back disappointing you guys need to do better next time. Can you be higher a cook for the lunch hour?

Alright let me start by saying I was skeptical about trying this place since I already have a taqueria I frequently visit... but Wen Chef did not disappoint! The staff were so friendly and gave some great recommendations! This is not your typical taqueria, they have many dishes on the menu and it's a great space for a group since they have a cute patio. I'm happy they have a lot of seating. The food was awesome! I've already visited this location multiple times and I'm obsessed. The carne asada is so juicy and flavorful! I'm so impressed how their cut of meat did not have any fat on it! Every bite was perfect and satisfying. We tried the asada mulita, asada burrito, chicken flautas, shrimp taco, chicharron taco, asada sopes and honestly we enjoyed every bite! I didn't get a pic of everything but here's a couple! The price is reasonable and portion sizes are excellent!

I love the concept of Wen Chen. Legit Mexican food!A fundraiser brought us here. It did not disappoint! First, I think it's great for businesses to do things like this. Supporting the local community is a big plus! It has in-door and outdoor seating. It's a chill vibe with the "Whittier, where the girls are prettier" signage! No alcohol but the food was good, so it wasn't really on my mind, but I did look for a Margarita on menu. LolI love the GUAC they serve on the Carne asada fries. Everything was very flavorful.A simple menu with Mexican food best. A little bit of everything. I saw shrimp, tortas, hard tacos, and soft. The meat alone is juicy! My sopes we're a little skimpy. But it tastes great. I just wanted a little more Carne.The salsas reminded me of my favorite place, I was impressed! It's close!Service was friendly and welcoming. We definitely will be returning!!

I enjoy supporting new local businesses so decided to stop in to check out this spot. The restaurant was bustling since it was a Friday night, has a great casual vibe. The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive and like that they have an outdoor patio. As for the food, it's very good, every dish we ordered was delicious and mouthwatering. We had a very nice casual dinning experience and will be back!

My rating is for the sopes and salsa! So darn yummy! I haven't tried anything else, so I can't speak for other menu items. I've read some reviews about the service being bad. We experienced average service - not bad, but not excellent. The place was clean and I love the patio out back. Definitely will be returning for more sopes!!

Came to this place to try it out. Got 2 tacos: asada and al pastor. The best tacos in uptown by far. The red salsa has a King Tacoish flavor: spicy and tasty. Green salsa was tasty af (bright and a slight kick).The asada was on point: flavourful and smoky. The al pastor was above average for the pseudo al pastor type of taco (i.e. not from a trompo/not thinly sliced like a shawarma; the way it should be). Tacos were small, which is authentic. Street tacos in Mexico are served on tiny tortillas. I think it was a taco Tuesday special because the menu said $2.50, but I was charged $2 a pop. Anyway, I highly recommend this spot. I will explore the rest of the menu and update accordingly.

The finest taco destination in Up Town Whittier, offering a wide variety of taco choices. Taco Tuesday is definitely worth experiencing. The outdoor patio creates a delightful and possibly romantic atmosphere, and the service is truly exceptional. My kudos to the Chef!

This place has great breakfast, the chilaquiles are flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. The staff is very friendly, which is a huge plus. Highly recommend!
