My first time here and came to celebrate my friend birthday for dinner. When we entered we got greeted right away and they have a big dining room. We came after 8pm and it wasnt busy at all and got seated right away, gave us water and we ordered. The food came pretty fast and was quite flavorful but didnt realize how much we ordered in the first round and was half way full by the time we got to the second round... All our food in one round came at the same time and fast. The worker came to refill our water in a timely manner. I would come back here again one day when im craving sushi.

We liked the food, did pick-up many times. Everyone is nice, but one woman is stern and speaks to us rudely - I think she is the manager, so I will refer to her as manager lady (ML).The food is decent, some rolls were very good. However, once, the order was incorrect and missing an item. I called and the ML said she packed it herself and the order was fine. There was no convincing her and I gave up.Also, I am highly allergic to cucumbers and I always ask that it's not included, due to my allergy. My roll had cucumbers, so I called. The staff member who answered the phone had to speak with the ML, who yelled in the background, "There's no cucumber in there!" I instantly told the person on the phone that I took pictures of all this slivered cucumber. We went back and forth and I was supposed to get a refund. Never received it.Bottom line: Food is good, but service is bad, especially when there is an issue. Hope that you are issue-free and it will be fine.

We visited on Valentine's Day and returned a week later, this time as a party of 13. Due to the busy holiday, we were seated at two separate tables. Given the high volume, we understood that orders might take longer, but the experience became frustrating when everyone received their food except for my sister and mom. They waited close to an hour before deciding to cancel their order. When we informed the staff, they reassured us that the food was coming, so we waited another 5-10 minutes, but nothing arrived. At that point, we decided to cancel for good. When the bill arrived, it was incorrect. While they kindly removed one item from the menu as an apology, the two canceled items were still on the check. It took two revisions before the receipt was finally correct. Despite the mishap, the food was still good. Hopefully, this serves as a learning opportunity for the restaurant to improve accuracy and timeliness in handling orders. We'll still come back to give them another try! Ambiance is great, too!

still my favorite ayce sushi spot in the SGV area. been here over 5 times now and this most recent time i got to try their omakase menu (for $10 more on top of ayce price) i will say it was definitely worth the $10. we got premium sushi such as uni, jumbo scallop, toro, etc. everything was buttery soft and freshservice is pretty friendly, nothing over the top but i appreciate how quickly everything comes out

Last night, I was really craving sushi and decided to explore the 626 area. I came across this spot and thought I'd give it a try. I opted for the AYCE option, and it was absolutely worth it! Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. My personal favorites were the salmon carpaccio and the seared garlic tuna--both were packed with flavor and perfectly marinated. The seaweed salad was so fresh that I ended up ordering two plates! Surprisingly, the furikake French fries were a standout--they were unexpectedly delicious with the seasoning. The service was fantastic, with the staff checking in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was great, whether you're on a date or with a large group. This modern sushi spot in Pasadena is truly a hidden gem! I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to all my friends!

The food overall here is great, but with a few hiccups. One of the hiccups was that the nigiri's rice. Every time we picked one up, the rice fell apart in half. We got salmon skin salad also, and to me, it could be a lot better with more dressing in my opinion. Another was that I usually find more comfort food menu like miso soups in the menu, but this place didn't have it on their menu. I think if they added more comfort food also, then it would be another solid go for me. All the other sushi's we ordered were good! I really loved the crispy rice tuna and takoyaki the most! Takoyaki was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. I recommend getting them if you're a Takoyaki lover. The salmon carpaccio was the best, it was packing with flavor! I recommend doing AYCE for your full experience so you can try many different things! Service here was very friendly and helps you with everything if you need help. They always check up on you if you're doing good every time!Ambiance looks like a very expensive place to be in but it's actually an affordable. I love the modern chairs and tables. This place just opened up, so come on down and check this place out!

Tomikawa was opened in the old Kabuki location in Pasadena; it has plenty of parking, a friendly staff and a revamped, clean interior. This spot has an la carte as well as an All You Can Eat (AYCE) option. We went for dinner on a Sunday and opted for AYCE for $40.00.The quality was decent and tasty. The albacore sashimi specifically was fishy/a little dry so I wasn't a fan, but the salmon and yellowtail nigiri were fresh and solid choices. This spot doesn't offer any premium sushi on their AYCE menu like some other spots do (ex/ one order of Uni/Salmon Belly/etc..) so keep that in mind if you are looking for those higher end options.

Went here with a small group of friends (one person in our group does not eat raw), and this place has a good mix of raw and fried/cooked items. The fish quality here is phenomenal! I really enjoyed the sushi here and all the cuts of fish were delicious and beautiful. There was a perfect amount of rice for each piece of sushi which was very nice; some places have too much rice but here at Tomikawa, the rice just perfectly complements the big slices of fish. As for the cooked items, I highly recommend the katsu stuffed with cheese. It has a nice crunch to it and filled with gooey delicious cheese. It comes with bulldog fruit sauce that went perfectly with the saltiness of the katsu. Robin was our server and he was very attentive and sweet. All the other servers who came by our table to drop off and pick up dishes were very mindful and courteous. Great atmosphere, extremely clean restaurant, and amazing staff. I had a really wonderful experience, recommend!

I came here the other day with a bunch of friends and the food was so good! If you have a big group, I recommend doing reservations in advance. The service was great and the employees were nice. We sometimes do all you can eat; which you couldn't beat the price at other places. I also recommend this place over Aikan. If you didn't do all you can eat, the bento boxes were also worth it because it comes with miso soup and a salad for $20.

The absolute BEST AYCE sushi restaurant in Pasadena. I have been coming here weekly for the past several months, and the consistency in their dishes is excellent. All the staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful. The restaurant itself has fantastic lighting, seating, and great music. The food is incredible. The raw fish is ALWAYS fresh and super tasty. My personal favorite order is their omakase set--a 9 piece platter that includes fresh, unique, and delicious sushi, such as Uni and Toro nigiri, for only $10 on top of their AYCE price. Additionally, they have a great selection of appetizers that are all delicious and portioned perfectly. While their sushi is fantastic, their cooked food is great too. The Yellowtail Collar is ridiculously tender and comes in a generous portion. I would highly recommend this dish for anyone who enjoys grilled fish. Overall, Tomikawa is a rare gem in Pasadena and would recommend anyone who appreciates good quality sushi and reasonable pricing to try this place!!!
