Toko Rame Indonesian Restaurant

Amazing place and it's about 15-20mins away from home, so whenever I'm craving Indonesian food I know where to go. I've been trying a lot of stuff from the menu and it's hard to not keep ordering the same one because I have some favorite Indonesian food that is hard to resist for me. I always call for pick up because I know some food take longer than others to cook. They have several seats but not a lot. The place is homey and it reminds me of several places I used to go around San gabriel area.Parking is limited in the plaza

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! It was my first time trying Indonesian Food & it loved it ! They were super patient & super kind ! We were there for a whole chatting it up with some friends. Place wasn't crowded at all when we came in just a really nice place to relax and eat with friends ! For appetizer, we ordered#2 Resuales cost $8For 2 & they were delicious!!! That peanut sauce, his a 10 must try! For Food we ordered #17 Nasi Bungkus (most popular) 10/10 Love the meats that it comes with wonderful! Cost 18.75#92 Nasi Kuning 7/10 was delicious ! #21 LonTong Special Toko Rame 9/10 love the curry soup, but my favorite part of this dish was the chicken sate ! 10/10 Drinks #T1 Es Cendol 10/10 RECOMMEND to TRY !!!#T3 Es Kelapa Muda 4/10 taste a lot of coconut not really a fan of coconut. I for sure see myself coming back to try there other dishes they have!

I've been on a food kick lately.. wanting to try new cuisines. So I decided on this place. It's in a shopping plaza with reasonable parking. The establishment was small, mom and pop feel. The gentleman that gave me my food was very nice and funny. The food was ok.. I was looking for more seasoning and spice... I ordered the bakmi goreng. The chicken was really good! The shrimp was slightly over cooked and the noodles were a little mushy. Id try this place again

The restaurant is located in a busy area that is right by the freeway. We were able to grab the last open parking spot. The restaurant is like stepping into a home. It's small and cozy at the same time. You are warmly greeted by the owner and the food and drink are delicious. We ordered by phone and the order was ready in 15 minutes. The food was piping hot. The drink is made when we arrived to keep it fresh and cool. Make sure to bring cash otherwise there is a service charge when using a card. We ordered Pempek Palembamg Kapal Selam, Nasi Bungkus, Noodle Bihun Chicken, Gado Gado, and ES Cendol Drink. When we come back again, we will definitely order the Nasi Bungkus, ES Cendol Drink, and a new item to try out. Everything here is delicious!

Since moving out of state, it had been a few years since I physically ate at this restaurant. I missed my cendol and bakmi! This small mom and pop restaurant looked exactly as I remember it. Menu was quite extensive, but I always go to my fave, either the Lontong Toko Rame special or the noodle special. The cendol was yummy and sweet, and my childhood fave I could not miss on. It consisted of coconut milk, palm sugar, pandan jelly, and pieces of jackfruit. Went down so smoothly and easily. The bakmi was deelish- egg noodles cooked and seasoned perfectly with chicken, pork and shrimp and topped with a fried egg. The chicken sate was moist and topped with peanut sauce. The nasi rames - a sampler platter of the best is always a good go to as well. Service was great- water was always filled and extra napkins given without asking. Pay cash to avoid credit card surcharge.A questionable business has moved in two doors down from Toko Rame in this tight small strip mall. A better location would be better located near the Dutch Indo market further on the street......

I want to say that this is an Indonesian home cook meal, but I'm not Indonesian so I can't say that. But we met people who gave us great advice on what to order. These were dishes we were never gonna order unless suggested. The appetizer we began with, Lumpia, was super hot but after you let it cool down, hmmmm just the beginning of some good food. We first started with a salad that had this nut sauce that was so good and went well with all the fresh veggies We also tried some other plates that I can't describe or name but they were so good. If you were looking for a review that would tell you what to eat, I'm sorry but this aint it. Just order and explore!

Well it's finally..finally I ate here!Ten food was so yummy and it's fresh, as we ordered seafood and it's yes...the fish is fresh! When we came actually we kinda surprise with the location and the restaurant itself! Seriously..it's small, well it's like 6 tables only! Bet with all the hype during feast time, people will be waiting for a table. I get that! Cuz they're good! - Fried Rice(Goat and Pete) 5starOh my! It's yummy! And it's totally different taste than what I usually had in the other indo restaurant! The spices are not too strong and we ask for spicy but it came out non spicy at all! - Fried Fish 5starWhy it's 5??? It's fresh, crunchy and yummy! The chili is a bomb! My kids love the fish a lot! And yes they said it's good! The chili is my favorite for sure, it's spicy and not oily!- Nasi Bungkus, 5starMy picky hubby ate this and he said it's the best! I'm so happy to know that he still shares the meat with me, The chicken, meat and the rice is well cooked, the spices are not overpowered, the veggies are his favorite! - Roti Cane, 5starBest one and the gravy, we eventually ordered this again, since it's so good and cincang is always good! I'm torn between a 4 or a 5 because when we got there we were seated right away since we were only two tables eating in at that time, but someone came in that had a to go pick up which we later found out it was a very large order which definitely was placed before we got there. We were just patiently waiting since this is a small family owned restaurant being ran by two lovely ladies. It all worked out because we were able to go through the menu to make the right decision. Once we placed our order, it wasn't to long for our food to come out. The three items we ordered, Indonesian seafood fried rice, fried Pampano in a yellow curry, and deep fried oxtails were all a 10/10 in authentic flavor and deliciousness. The fish was a little bit spicy but it was very complementing to the flavor. The oxtails I must say was a style of preparation we have never tried before. It was tender, but fried to a crispy texture. It came with a spicy sambal style of chili sauce which went very well with it to give it that nice kick. The difference between Indonesian fried rice compared to Chinese fried rice is the Indonesian style is not oily, no scrambled eggs, nor peas and carrots. Somehow it has a lot of flavor. The ladies were very nice and apologetic for the time delay so I don't take that against them. Just be aware that service can possibly be slow, but the food was worth the wait. Support your local small businesses.

Foods are good, good service n waited for a while to get the fresh food .... Brought home some eggrolls, lemper n sate ayam to share with family
