I treated my bestie here for her birthday & glad we decided to come right when they opened. The parking lot is kind of small & can fill up quickly. The restaurant also is small with maybe enough seating for 15-20 people. The people were all very attentive and nice.We decided to share the full baby back ribs combo that came with 3 sides and 2 drinks. It was generously portioned, ribs were meaty, and we were so impressed at how moist it was still even after getting smoked. The Mac & cheese was so smooth. Cole slaw was a good basic one, not overly dressed or drowning in sauce - just how I like it. The BBQ beans were not bad but not great, they were ok. The ribs were the thing that stood out the most though. So good!!

Husband and I were craving for some brisket/American BBQ after watching YouTube and started yelping for local places and came across The Smoking Ribs. We came on a Saturday afternoon right when they opened at 12 p.m. and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant is relatively small, about 10 tables with four seating per table from my rough estimate, no wait when we arrived though, so that was nice. Okay, onto the food. It was good but nothing we would crave for. I didn't find anything spectacular or special. We had 1/2 lb beef brisket, half a rack baby back ribs, and three sides: blueberry muffin (a bit dry), corn chowder (way too sweet - definitely added sugar), and garlic mash potato (decent). As for their meats, the BBQ ribs was fall off the bone but a little lack luster in flavor. Regarding the brisket, they was a little too much fat layer to enjoy the actual meat in my opinion. They had two in house BBQ sauce on the table, one spicy, one regular which was also just okay . Price point for entire meat include tip was approximately $61. For the portion, I would say price point was a bit high. We kind of wish they had a mix and match deal where you could get a variety of meats and sides as it would have been more budget friendly and shareable, but unfortunately they didn't, so we had to order two combos, or you can order ala carte which didn't make sense for us to do. Lastly, their soda machine needs to be looked at as hubby and I both agreed, their soft drinks (soda) seems to be a fit flat or missing carbonation. Whether we would recommend this place or come back is very unlikely as I think there may be better BBQ joints in OC. Three stars are solely for customer service. Thank you for the hospitality.

I'm always on the hunt for good BBQ (mainly for the wife), so I stumbled across SmoKing Ribs during a quick Google search. It was a bit farther than we'd normally drive, but we decided to make the trip. Unfortunately, I didn't check their hours, so when we arrived, we only had about an hour to eat.The seating inside was pretty tight, and waiting for a table felt a bit awkward with how close everything was. We tried our best not to make it weird as we glanced at the menu while waiting. I have to say, we were hoping for more variety--most BBQ places have platters meant for sharing that let you try a bit of everything, but here, everything was strictly à la carte.The servers, however, were fantastic--polite, attentive, and not rushing us out, even though it was near closing time. Sadly, the food didn't quite meet the same level of service. Being the end of the day, a lot of menu items weren't available, which we only found out after waiting 30 minutes for a table. Had we known ahead of time, we probably would've gone somewhere else.With limited options left, we ordered chicken and beef ribs. While they were flavorful, they tasted like they'd been reheated--dry, tough, and not what I'd expect from a BBQ spot. We ate what we could, even took some home, but the experience overall felt underwhelming.Maybe it was just bad timing on our part, and coming earlier in the day might have made for a better experience. But based on this first visit, our anticipation quickly turned into disappointment. Sorry, SmoKing Ribs--this one didn't hit the mark for us.

I got Beef Rib, Brisket, Baby Back Ribs and a Sausage Link . I would rank the Brisket my favorite the Beef Rib my 2nd favorite, Sausage link 3rd and the Baby Backs 4th despite all 4 being really good. For sides I got cornbread, baked beans, mac and cheese, fries, onion rings. All these side were delicious! Despite all the food being good I do have some...COMPLAINTS: Small portions were given for sides. The waiter wanted to charge us for a small plastic container to take some bbq sauce home to eat with our leftovers.

We've been back several times over the last six months. Everytime the food has been consistently delicious. You'll want to come early before they start running out of meats. The day we were there, they were expecting more meat to come out at 5pm. So good news, they have a second batch!This time I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of onion rings $17.16 My husband ordered the 1/3 Slab Pork Spare Ribs with house cream corn $16.91. The cream corn was for me and the onion rings, for him. We also got a side of Blueberry Cornbread (2pc) $5.20.We ate in and it was super crowded, but we got a table. The tables turn very quickly and everyone is respectful of not hogging the space after eating. The portions are large and we had to take some home, which made for a tasty snack later that day. Pretty affordable too considering the combos come with a side and fountain drink.
