My husband and I come here pretty often, the food and service is always great. It's a smaller, fast casual location but very clean and always delivers delicious wraps.My go to is the chimichurri wrap and his is the OG wrap. While they don't appear very large on the plate, we always leave very full and wonderfully satisfied with our meal. We always get an order of the Zataar fries as well with the garlic toum and spicy yogurt harissa sauces. They pair very well together. Overall the wraps have great flavor with a good crispiness exterior. We drive from Irvine to this location for the quality food.

My husband and I came here for lunch on a Tuesday while driving back to LA from San Diego. I'd found this place on Yelp while looking for a healthy lunch spot and picked it as I saw it was an Australian-owned charcoal chicken restaurant. Charcoal chicken is a popular food in Australia but it's hard to find in the U.S., The Chicken Shop is the only place I can think of that does it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Newport Beach. There is ample parking as a result. The restaurant operates on a pay and order first model. It's fairly casual and would make for a good spot if you want to get takeout or just have a quick meal. They have a couple of vegetarian options, which consist of mushrooms, but otherwise the menu is largely comprised of chicken, which is available in bowls, salads, or pitas. I got the Char'd bowl this time, which consisted of chicken atop a salad. The chicken was juicy and the salad ingredients were fresh and flavorsome. Service was friendly. I think I'll come back to this place if I'm in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Pretty darn good.A bit pricey but definitely the best fresh Ingredients!Must try and see for yourself..

I had the original chicken wrap. The chicken was flavorful, the garlic sauce was tangy, and the pickles bring the wrap together nicely. Overall I think I would come back again.

Wow, the Chicken Shop has some of the best chicken that I've ever had. The staff were so kind and friendly when I came in to pick up my online order! When you walk in, you can smell all the amazing food coming out from the kitchen and the atmosphere is inviting as soon as you come inside.The chicken here is so juicy on the inside and has a great char on the outside. It was rich and flavorful. The 2 whole chickens I got on my recent order were devoured for the party that I brought them to and everyone loved them. The sides were also delicious with the fries being well cooked and seasoned. The huge side of garlic toum was a great pairing for the chicken. They also gave me plenty of sauces on the side to dip my chicken into and they were all tasty. The sweet potatoes were also delicious and great compliment to the chicken. They make everything to order here so the wait time can be a little long but it's worth it! If you are placing a big order, I recommend ordering online for takeout!This is one of the best places in OC for amazing chicken and I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

Thank you for going seed oil-free in your entire kitchen! We have started ordering frequently because of this decision. We love a place that not only tastes good but also takes pride in serving high-quality food. We appreciate that you use good quality chicken and fresh produce, as that means a lot to us!

Amazing! The service was caring and thoughtful. I was freezing with the door open and the staff closed the door for me even though it made the kitchen smoky for them. They gave me extra sauce free of charge. The food was amazing! When the food came out there was a moist steam spiraling into the air. The chicken was moist and when you cut it open the steam rose up from inside. The flavors all worked together creating the perfect bite of flavor and texture. Not sure if it was the owners who were helping me or not but I was there on Friday February 28th, 2025 at 6:30pm. The staff that evening should get raises.

My office catered lunch from The Chicken Shop and I was soooo obsessed I had to come back for a personal visit. They are located in an affluent area in Newport Beach in the same plaza as Massage Envy, Orange Theory, Pressed, Live Metta Pilates and other luxuries. I can see folks coming here for a healthy bite after their work out. From the catered meal I was able to try their Chimichurri Wrap, The Char'd Bowl, and The Bowl Bowl. It was so healthy and balanced. My coworkers and I were like... this is DEFINITELY going onto the lunch rotation. When I came back during my personal visit the store was a lot smaller than I imagined. Inside they had one large communal table and a small table for about 4 people. Neither were wiped down the whole time I was there. The tables def had crumbs and debris from previous patrons. There is also a lot of outdoor seating for businesses in the area. It was so hot so I decided to sit indoors, but it wasn't much cooler inside. I ordered their Chimichurri Wrap ($14.95) which has chicken, chimichurri, picked red onions, and sweet potato fries. Yummmm! Highly recommended. SO IN LOVE with this wrap! Then I also wanted to add a salad to be healthy. I liked both salads but it would have been crazy for me to order 2 salads by myself. I decided to get the Char'd Bowl ($15.95) which comes with chicken, crunchy chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, avocado, charred corn, over a bed of mixed greens. It was good but not as satisfying as I remember. The cruncky chickpeas and charred corn were my favorite things about the salad but next time I'll get the bowl bowl to see how it tastes on its' own. Pricing is a little on the high side, while the protein seems low. Also I saw on the receipt that they elected for white meat on my bowl. Ahem I actually prefer dark meat. And while I was here I didn't like how there were so many flies INSIDE the restaurant... I didn't want to sit outdoors to avoid bugs and heat but still had to deal with it inside. This is a meal better suited for catering or take out. Not really meant to be enjoyed there. I'll be back for my glorious chimichurri wrap but I'll think twice before splurging on the bowls.

Great food, very fresh and healthy. The bowl bowl is a 10/10, juicy rotisserie chicken, the sauces are very good! Yogurt harissa 10/10 and lemon vinaigrette 10/10Zaatar fries are always crispy and great seasoning. This spot gets very busy but it's worth the wait

Run to the Chicken shop right now! Get the bowl, bowl and please order the garlic chili! Wow, what a great pairing in flavor. The bowl has lemon quinoa which I was a little skeptical about but trust me the flavor was big hit with my palate. Service was fast for dinner time but don't ask them to rush as they are preparing everything fresh. Nothing frozen! All healthy. Cozy atmosphere inside but they have tables outside. I didn't have time to eat at the location but next time I do, I will pair my bowl with a beer which is readily available onsite! Coming back here to tomorrow.
