Tangaroa Terrace Restaurant at Disneyland Hotel. This is a cute tropical Hawaiian themed restaurant. You can definitely find a couple of great healthy vegan options here whether you're looking for an amazing breakfast to start your day or a light salad to end it or some adult beverages (via the attached bar around the corner, Trader Sam's).We had plenty to eat throughout the day so I was looking for something lighter and, the Swaying Palm Salad, with the charred hearts of palm, cashews, puffed rice noodles and more, looked to be a perfect option. I would say you really have to be a salad person to appreciate this salad. I appreciate a good salad but I'm not like "a salad person" and in spite of variety of ingredients .. which I appreciated, I was umm inspired by this salad. Again, if you're "a salad person", you'll probably find yourself having more of an affinity for this, as it's probably just one of those "it's not you, it's me" kinda things....In addition to the salad, we ordered a couple of "Nightmare Grog Floats with Rum" from Trader Sam's, which is a bar that's attached to the Tangaroa Terrace restaurant. The drink on the left was made with a lighter rum and on the right, a darker rum, but I couldn't speak to the specific brand. This was really delicious but I mean, who doesn't love Dole Whip (if that's "you", please don't out yourself , I think it's best for you and everyone else involved that you remain in hiding lol). On an aside, while the drink was supposed to be presented inside of the Nightmare Before Christmas cups and clearly .. was not, they still gave us the cups separately so .. no harm, no foul.Last but certainly not least was their breakfast, holy f(bleeped to avoid social media police and a feigned sense of moral decency lol). I'm totally a sucker for anything "avocado toast" so I was easily intrigued by this menu item, especially given it was on a croissant. I didn't expect this breakfast to be so "much", and I say that in an amazingly good way, I thought I was merely ordering a sandwich but turns out, I received an experience! The croissant was light, fluffy and flaky. The breakfast as a whole was very filling yet light and healthy, you'll finish feeling full without feeling weighed down.

Depending what you get It's a 50/50 kind of place for me. I ate here three times for all three meals. My favorite and first meal was dinner. It was a cold night so the ramen hit the spot. Good flavors, plenty of toppings, and the noodles weren't overcooked. That was my initial fear. My second favorite was lunch with the short ribs. Again flavors were there and the meat was soft and worth the extra $.Least favorite was breakfast. It was a good thing, this was my last meal because if it was the first I would never come here again. I got the loco moco burrito. Lack of gravy and terrible rice gives this a zero out of five. Plenty of seating and service was quick for all three meals. Condiment section was fully stocked and soda machine has all the favorites. Overall three stars. On a cold night, the ramen will hit the spot and the short ribs are a sure winner. M

It would have been four stars but now they don't have my favorite breakfast item, the Açaí bowl :(It was so delish with chia pudding and delicious bits of fruit and açaí.Please bring it back! I am so bummed. Looks like I will be getting the cheese pesto ciabatta fromStarbucks instead or something from in the park. Maybe something at Jamba Juice.Other than that, I think the food here is okay. We usually get the poke bowl or a salad as takeout. Warning about their short ribs kalbi dish. I was really disappointed that they made it by cooking the kalbi and then just topping it with a teriyaki sauce dressing (like a gravy) and that was the only flavoring. They did not marinate it and having grown up eating marinated kalbi it makes a difference. I hope the kitchen can step up their kalbi game especially if they are reppin Hawaii ;). I did eat it however because I was starving and the meat was good but was begging to be marinated!I did like their chicken wings too for takeout. The best deal here is the salmon bowl from the kids menu, if your kids will eat salmon. When we did eat there, the service was pretty good. The server can get busy and distracted at night, and the food can take a while so definitely don't go if you're starving. In the daytime, I definitely saw a lot of employees just standing around lol watching you like others said. The ambiance is beautiful however though so that is always nice. I love looking at all the plants and at night they have lighted tiki torches and space heaters if it's too cold.

I enjoyed a nice lunch here with my friend. It was super quick and convenient to order from the quick service register. We both got poke bowls and enjoyed the variety of ingredients in there. I think it's more of a Hawaiian poke bowl, rather than traditional Japanese. It was super flavorful...maybe slightly to salty for me but most people probably prefer it that way. I had mentioned to the cashier that it's my friend's birthday lunch, and of course in Disney fashion, they added a surprise and delight...and brought over two complimentary dole whips for the birthday boy and his friend! That was super sweet and not expected. Of course the dole whip was delicious! Thank you for the magical treat!

This hidden gem is tucked away at the Disneyland Hotel. No reservation is needed, but space can be limited, so it's a good idea to have someone grab a table... especially during dinner time. Their quick service register makes ordering food fast and convenient. Their ambiance perfectly captures the Polynesian vibes with tiki torches, dim lighting, and island inspired music. Stop by if you want a Hawaii-inspired experience.

After returning back from my 2024 trip to the Disneyland Resort, the one food item that I vividly remember from my previous trip the year before in July 2023, one that I wish I had returned to enjoy this year, was at the Tangaora Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. So here I am, one year later because it's still embodied in my memory, this one dish, a review is written. Located at the Disneyland Hotel, this casual dining spot does not offer table service, wish it did. And, it's extremely busy, especially with the adjacent walk-up bar next to the grill's entrance. Tables are hard to find as well if like me, you arrive for a dinner experience. Service by cast members are minimal and other than the live music by musicians we met during their break who were originally from Hawai'i, the dining ambiance isn't anything to rave about. But here is the true winner, a dish that stood out from all the others we ordered. Even though multiple vloggers I follow raved about the Hawaiian Platter with Kalbi Beef Shortribs and especially the Tempura Battered Green Beans with Togarashi Aoili, I feel this dish I'm about to mention deserves more attention. A dish so worthy, so delicious, it bumps this dining establishment's rating to four stars. Their Tonkotsu Ramen, with this rich pork broth, was extremely delicious, with great complexity and layers of flavors. So legit, you'd feel, like myself, you were dining at an actual ramen shop or in an Asian restaurant. But what a surprise to be enjoying this bowl of ramen, featuring ramen noodles with great texture and just a hint of sweetness, at a themed dining spot at the Disneyland Resort. Move aside Lucky Fortune Cookery at California Adventure because the ramen you serve there does't compare one bit to this one. Nope. Juicy pork belly slices, scallions, slices of shiitake mushrooms, a soft boiled egg and nori (seaweed) slices top off this rich broth that if traditionally prepared, is boiled with pork bones for hours. A true cooking method for Tonkotsu. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney's culinary team prepared it this way because this broth made this bowl of ramen, a star. If you're looking for a great bowl of ramen, since there's not one ramen shop anywhere inside and nearby the Disneyland Resort in walking distance; and if going through the security checkpoint and walking pretty far from the park entrances isn't an issue, then make your way to the famed Disneyland Hotel. You'll find decent food offerings in this Polynesian themed, open-air eatery, lit up with tiki torches and live music at night. This bowl of ramen is better than some places in my hometown and my homestate, Hawai'i, which is saying a lot. A delicious dish, found in a surprising location. I guess that's what you would call, Disney magic.

Hangry after getting to the park and everywhere was crazy so we headed to Disneyland hotel's Tangaroa Terrace. Not too busy ( compared to the long line at Trader Sam's)There's mobile order but we didn't need it. I had the kid's rice bowl with salmon which came with a drink and 2 slices of pineapple $12.15 with MK discount. The salmon was surprisingly tender- I usually don't expect much from park food- and the steamed broccoli wasn't soggy or mushy. My friend had the Hawaiian platter with 2 large pieces of beef with teri sauce. She said it fork tender. Another plus was it wasn't drowned in the sauce. It came with rice and streamed veggies. For the price, she was pretty happy. The staff there are awesome- so nice and friendly. There's outside seating with a few tables inside. You can order beverages from the walk up counter outside. Left happy and full !

We stopped by Tangaroa for breakfast before heading out. We ordered the pancake stacks, coconut french toast, and breakfast burrito. I was a little disappointed with the French toast since it's a little dry and the candied pineapple on top didn't work for me. The stacks were also a little dry too but loved the fresh berries and macadamia nuts on top. Cute plating with the Mickey ears though. I'll probably come back and try their dinner menu next time. Service was good and food came out pretty quickly also.

Not only are you super tired and have sore feet from the Disney fun. We got to chill here and enjoyed some drinks and a snack. Service was great! Any questions you may have about the menu, ask away. We didn't know we were able to get just fries, glad we had asked.

I really enjoy the Tangaroa Terrace tonkotsu ramen. The bowl is flavorful, filling, and comes out pretty fast. The pork belly slices, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, nori, soy flavored soft-boiled egg, and noodles taste fresh and delicious. I also appreciated the salmon bowl for the kids (my little one loves fish!). It was a healthy bowl of plain rice, broccoli, salmon, and a slice of pineapple, which my toddler happily ate!
