Tang Baan is a Korean soup restaurant located as a food stall within HMart, right next to Paik Noodle. I ordered the Galbi Tang for $18.99, with an option to add Napa cabbage for an extra dollar. The dish comes with five sides and a serving of rice, making it a well-rounded and hearty meal. The soup itself was delicious, with a medicinal quality that added a comforting touch. The service was quick and efficient, ensuring that the meal was served promptly. The ambiance was clean and straightforward, fitting for its cafeteria-style setup. There is plenty of seating available, so finding a spot to enjoy your meal is rarely an issue. However, it's worth noting that no water is provided, so be sure to bring your own. While the prices are slightly higher than some of the other restaurant stalls in the food court, the quality of the food and the generous portions make it worthwhile.Overall, Tang Baan offers a satisfying and convenient dining experience for those looking for traditional Korean soups in a casual setting. After finishing your meal, don't forget to return your tray to the restaurant as part of the self-service process.

A convenient choice for comforting Korean soup! It's located in the H-Mart food court, with plenty of seating and very quick service. I ordered the #4, beef bone and meat soup with brisket, and it came with a generous amount of meat and tendon, as well as complimentary banchan side dishes like kimchi and radish. It was enough food that I was able to take the leftovers home and make another meal with it. Overall I would come back!

Come here for the beef bine broth soup only...everything else is a gamble. We decided to try this new place since my wife is on a bone broth kick right now, and we thought it would hit the spot since it was quite foggy and chilly this morning. The beef bone broth soup tasted phenomenal. It was warm, it was soothing, and the meat was quite tender. The portion was a bit small though, and it didn't come with any noodles or much else other than broth and bits of meat. It came with 4 bits of banchan (pickled radish squares, kimchi, fish cake, pickled onion) and rice. The banchan was good, but not excellent, but it hit the right spot for a soup lunch on a brisk day.The beef short rib BBQ was lacking, particularly for the most expensive item on the menu. It only came with two banchan (kimchi and fish cake), so the owner felt a bit bad and threw in some rice for us. The taste wasn't particularly phenomenal or that impressive, and it was actually dripping a bit from how much sauce they added to it. It was OK, just not very impressive--particularly for that $30+ price tag.The seafood pancake was sorely lacking. It was crispy in some areas, but undercooked in other areas, and extremely chewy and a bit raw-tasting in other areas. There was also much too much green onion compared to any other ingredient, so much so that the pancake tasted more like a green onion pancake than a seafood pancake. One thing that was nice is that they have a free beef bone broth deal right now for their grand opening. All in all, I sorely regret ordering anything other than their beef bone dishes. I would have rather gotten four beef bone dishes with different kinds of meats than what we ordered.

Just mind blowing food. I've had beef bone soup with mixed beef meat twice and the taste was like a rainbow. Taste, quality, price, and freshness.

It was my first time ordering two different soups. I am not sure if my expectations for the quality of the food were too high or if the experience was affected because it was a to go order. For the price I paid for each soup it was noticeable that the quantity of broth and ingredients was smaller, and two kimchi side dishes were lacking in quantity compared to the same items I would order in Buena Park or garden grove.

Tastes like Mom's cooking.. what a gem that's come to Irvine. The owner is such a sweet lady, and she clearly has decades of experience with 국.
