This review is for just the sushi since we didn't hit any ramen or any other stuff. You can't beat the price!. Avid fisherman and big sushi lover here. We hit up everything from hole in the wall to high class dress code stuff. We went to the brunch spot next to this spot and were curious about the menu. With the post-covid prices... this place seemed unreal. Decided to order 2 of their 50% off special rolls and a spicy tuna hand roll as a standard measurement. Order was to-go so I'm not sure about service although I noted that the guy who rang me up was extremely polite and performed the subtle gestures that are a really big thing in the Asian community. Rice portion: if you love huge mounds of rice, this is not your spot. They do smaller portions of rice and big massive wads of the good stuff. Freshness: fresh is a bit difficult to gauge. The best fish is actually flash frozen for a while and then thawed and wrapped in paper for hours/days. Instead of "freshness", I'll lean more on fish preparation. They prepare the fish well. Cuts are nice. Overall, their special 50% rolls look to be a spicy tuna or California roll with some fish, crunch powder, and eel sauce on top (like everybody else). The big difference here is they price it accordingly rather than tacking on a bunch of money because it's named differently.

My parents and I love Tampopo and their lovely and affordable lunch menu. The portions are huge. The food is delicious. The service is always friendly. The ambiance is a little stale inside but nothing uncomfortable. Never had a problem finding parking.

First time I came was 6 years ago! (Pic with me in glasses) Wow! The same cute guy brought me back on a date a few months ago. And today, was super cold so I craved ramen again and he brought me back here. Awwww! I like this place! Keep forgetting to get sushi though but it's our new thing to get the lunch special with dumplings + a soft boiled egg + a Japanese beer ("Sapporo")...everything was delicious! Great service! Wasn't crowded but my date said it gets crowded usually. In the middle of eating, people started pouring in. lol! That's when you know the food is good! Will be back again! Next time, I'll try the sushi again! Hope y'all had a good Christmas!

Tampopo used to be my go to spot! I haven't been back in a few years, but recently came back and was disappointed both times. Tampopo has a wide variety of different items, bento box, sushi, ramen, and udon. They always have 50% off sushi rolls which include their basic rolls, tempura/crunch rolls, and seared/cooked rolls.I ordered the ramen and a few rolls from the 50% off menu. Personally didn't like the ramen. The meat was chewy and didn't taste like chashu. I also ordered the Crazy Hulk Roll ($9.95), Spicy Shrimp Tempura ($8.50), and the SAM roll ($9.50). All 3 rolls had so much sauce on them. I think that's why they taste good, but there's barely any fish. The Hulk roll comes with eel, but I had to dig through my roll because I could not see any eel. It was the smallest piece of eel in each piece. The salmon did not look fresh in the SAM roll. The rolls are cheaper than other places, but you really get what you pay for. If you're looking for basic rolls packed with sauce, then it's not bad. The customer service was good though and everything came out quick. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back and will pay a little more for better quality and more fish.

A restaurant that serves ramen and sushi/sashimi. Food was the best. Sushi/sashimi were served fresh and ramen was absolutely delicious!There were 14 of us so we had to wait (on a Saturday) until tables were available. The proprietor and the servers kept us updated on when we could be seated. After we were seated, we ordered and were immediately served.Restaurant is conducive for family dining. It was small and clean.We loved it!!!

My go-to spot for affordable sushi, I've been going to this place for years now. They have a 50% off sushi rolls menu with a large selection of different rolls to choose from, ALL DAY EVERY DAY! I always come for their rolls and my favorites are the Crazy Hulk (#1 faveee), Crazy Mario, and Washington Roll. Sometimes I'll get the regular Crazy Roll or the Crunch Roll for cheaper options. Majority of these rolls are UNDER $10 (~$5-9) which is just AMAZING!The service and ambiance is great too, I always feel welcomed here!

I wanted noodles and sushi so this was the obvious remedy, snd it was hubby's pickOur server, Kelly greeted us with a bright smile and told us we could sit anywhere of our choosing. At about 5 pm there were only a handful of patrons. This place is a small restaurant amidst a myriad of eateries in this very busy plaza. For Artesia/Cerritos standards, parking spaces are very small & cramped. We ordered the Tampopo Ramen sets, mine with (ramen) spicy tune sushi & hubby the sane but with teriyaki chicken. We were both famished as this was our first meal of the day. Additionally, I ordered the Tampopo sushi while hubby: salmon Fire sushi. It's true what they say about not shopping while you're hungry coz we ordered with our eyes & stomachs. Yup, it was a lot of food!! The dishes arrived promptly & we dug in-the broth was savory & full of flavor while the ramen noodles was just right in consistency-oh so good. Too much rice on my spicy tuna so I removed some-luckily hubby ate it with his teriyaki chicken. He loved his salmon fire sushi but the sauce was a bit sweet. The tampopo sushi was pretty good & very filling although I would not order it again-the fried flaky garnishing was too overwhelming. They were generous with the avocado filling. One other server, a young man continued to tend to us while Kelly took care of everyone else in the restaurant. We will definitely return whenever the mood strikes for both ramen & sushi.
