This place is great, we got the Carne Asada tacos and a Lengua burrito. I really liked the tacos, since the meat was really flavorful. It's a lot better than some mom and pops. The salsas are better tasting too. The lengua burrito was okay, not much flavor.

Likes:+ Scrumptious Mexican food.+ Polite, helpful staff.+ Cheap food! I ate a variety of things for a total under $15! what a steal+ Variety of Mexican food. Besides tacos and burrito, they have:mulitas (translation: little mule), a sort of cross between a taco and a quesadilla, AKA a crispy tortilla sandwich, tortas, a type of Mexican sandwich, and sopes (idk why Google translates it to "soup", when it's actually a fried corn dough or masa dish).+ Ample parking.+ Casual ambience.Non-likes:- To use the restroom, need to ask an associate to press the buzzer. You don't use a code. I'd rather the restroom remain unlocked, but I suppose they may have a homelessness problem.- The sauces, lemons, and roasted jalapeno peppers remain in individual packets since COVID. A little inconvenient.- They don't have napkin dispensers at the tables. Have to grab them individually at the dispenser across the restaurant.I had$4.49 Mulita Asada +$4.49 Sope Lengua +$2.29 Taco Cabeza + tax= $12.32

This place is clean and large. The service is helpful and fast. I put the quality of the food well above Taco Bell which is across the street. 1 star for Taco Bell, 3 stars here. It's fast and good, but no authentic. I had Pastor which was not bad, the super burrito had a the perfect amount of cheese, sour cream, guacamole, rice and meat. I would order it again, but only if I were comparing it to fast food. This is high quality fast food, served hot, but not authentic home made tasting Mexican food.

Another great outing to Tacos Gavilan. Although I gave them a 5-star review last time, I went with a group, and it was pointed out to me that they did not seem to have a fish (fried or grilled) option or a shrimp option. So, I do have to deduct a star for that. I don't normally order those items, but I do occasionally, so it is a miss. I would still say that they are one of my favorite places. The service is fast and very friendly. The place is still clean as a brand-new whistle. With the place being so big, they can crank you in and out from order to getting your food so very quickly. Everything that they do have is top notch. Although the Al Pastor does not seem to have any pineapple, that can be a regional thing. The flavors are still fantastic. You feel very safe going here and I highly recommend it to everyone.

From the moment I got onto Yelp, to locating this Establishment I had no difficulty placing my order and the staff was pleasant. I ordered the Al pastor bean and rice burrito with cilantro and onions. Tasty every bite. There were sauces, lemon slices, jalapeños and carrots sealed and packaged for our order. Free of charge. The cashier female and the gentle that called out my order number #79 voiced in Spanish and in English. As I walked up he confirmed my name, Daniel, and we exchanged pleasantries. The table tops and chairs were clean and floors. Smelt delightful. Thanks team and management.

This place is alright, and after ordering a few times, I can say its a solid joint that doesn't necessarily outshine similar restaurants and isn't my top choice for Mexican food. However, in a pinch, this place is not bad and it's really neat how they package the food, provided sauces, and other condiments for customers to grab on their own.The meat has been on the dry side a few times when I ordered for take out, and the flavor is alright with average portion sizes. The store itself is relatively large and makes it really easy for groups to sit down and stay together. I didn't really experience any customer service from any of the associates, but I also did place my order online and just pick up at the end of the register.Overall, I'm not really certain if I would return but it's definitely not a bad place.

Another rainy-ish night in Orange County calls for tacos and we decided it was time to try Tacos Gavilan! This is a chain-ish establishment in that they have a lot of locations in So Cal, and we tried the Santa Ana location via Grub Hub. Our order was fairly basic, but they have a wide variety of delicious looking treats to try! We got a chicken taco, super mulita asada, super burrito asada, and cheesecake. They also allow you to order the entire salsa bar fixings with each item, which is awesome. (We did not order the jalapeños, but got them instead of our beans, which was sad, but ok I guess. We didn't eat them.) The chicken taco with onions and cilantro was delicious. I tried the green salsa and almost died. The flavor is so good, but it's spicy! Hubby tried the red salsa and said the same! If you like it spicy, these are the salsa for you! We do not, but the flavors were really good! They just killed our souls! Next was the super mulita asada. The only way to describe this dish is that it's a quesadilla that is not sealed and is fried? I have never had one, but it was delicious! What makes it "super" is the addition of sour cream and avocado. 5 stars even with how greasy it was and required almost all of the 5 napkins we got in our bag to eat it. The super asada burrito had beef, cheese, rice, beans, sour cream, avocado in a really nice tortilla. It was a lot of rice. A lot. I would wager 2/3 of the burrito was rice. I don't mind a good BRC burrito, but this was a lot of rice. I ended up having to open the burrito and take some out. The taste was nice, it was just too much rice. Finally, the cheesecake. Sadly, this was not the highlight of our dinner. It tasted like a weirdly failed flan. Not cheesy. Not creamy. Not cakey. Nothing good about this one, sadly. The food was good. I want to try the nachos if we ever go in person, and hubby really liked the mulita and questioned if he can ever eat a quesadilla again.

I ordered tacos and they were served with a generous portion of meat and delicious. I also had complimentary beans and they were just the right taste and temperature. In addition, my food was prepared rather quickly. The restaurant is always spotless clean. Their prices are absolutely reasonable and I can say they give more than their competitors. Definitely a must try!!!!!!
