Sushi Sawa

Sushi is amoung the best in the area. It's very fresh with friendly service. Recommended for anyone who is in the azusa area.

This sushi place is one of the hidden gems of Azusa. They have a great lunch menu with awesome price. The service was fast and nice.

Got this spot thru Door Dash earlier this week to try a new place - not impressed, unfortunately. While the bento box was a good price (~17 for 3 items, and comes with miso soup, salad, and rice), there was just no flavor to anything. You can see from the pic that the salmon portion was maybe 1/3 of what I'd expect a dinner portion to be. I did like how it was seared, but I could barely taste the teriyaki flavor. The rolls were really bland. I'd expect some flavor for a spicy tuna roll, but there was no kick, and no flavor. We tried this place because the prices were good, so 3/5 just for good prices, but wouldn't come here again.

I would definitely recommend this location to eat! I love coming here so much! The hospitality and food are great. 10/10 you should give them a try! If you're lucky they also have the most adorable restaurant puppy Louie

**Rating with small child**Not sure what all of these high ratings are talking about. Maybe we came on the wrong day? Think I'm being generous with a 3-star, but I was having a nice day with my kid so I'll give them that. I guess the people of Azusa consider this a high rating.We got there right when they opened for dinner, so we were the only guests there. My son and I searched high and low on the menu for chicken karage and cucumber rolls, but it was nowhere to be found. When I asked the waitress, she barely spoke English and had no clue about the menu. Finally we figured out that this place has no chicken karage, so we settled on the chicken teriyaki, which turned out alright.My kid's tamago sushi arrived broken, but he didn't seem to care at all as he was hungry! I ordered the sushi combo A, which was nothing to rave about. I found it strange that they gave me two pieces of maguro tuna. It's like they had nothing else to serve, so they gave me two of it. The slices were also extremely stingy and rice was too small. Again, we were the only guests there and the sushi chef kept forgetting to bring out stuff. He completely forgot about the cucumber roll, and when I asked him for it, he was like "ohhh!!" and brought out thinly sliced cucumbers rolled up in a roll. Hmm cucumber rolls are supposed to be one thicker piece of cucumber, not many thin slices, but whatever. And then I asked about my miso soup that came with my sushi combo, and again he was like "ohhh!" And brought out lukewarm soup with two very crumbly pieces of tofu...I wasn't looking for life-changing sushi here, more like a casual sushi dinner with my 5 year old. But don't expect this place to be anywhere close to authentic Japanese food.

The food here is amazing. Small, quaint space, and the service is great. Pleaae don't think they're ignoring you, they're just not all over you while you're eating.

The staff was attentive and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect". The food was delicious". The atmosphere at this restaurant is absolutely great!From the moment we arrived, we felt taken care of".

I ordered a roll for pick up for myself on my lunch break, I wait 10 minutes because it's close to my work, I get there and the door says theyre closed but my order went through I try to open the door, and as soon as I open it ,what seemed like the sushi chef immediately tells me "WERE CLOSED" I barely had opened the door, and I proceed to let him know im just here to pick up an order then he keeps the attitude and says WE CANT MAKE FOOD ANYMORE CANCEL THE ORDER, keep in mind my order was already charged and confirmed for pick up, I was shocked to hear him say that, before I can even say anything else fortunately a nice woman comes out of the kitchen and tells me im so so sorry your order is ready and handed it to me, not only was this encounter with the chef just rude and unaccounted for, my roll was not fresh, tasted stale, seems like the sushi soaked up the attitude the chef had when making it

Place is a vibe, very peaceful. there's a sweet lil lady that I assumes the mom if you encounter her she's the best. The rollers pretty cool even tho he doesn't talk much and the best thing to get here I would say would be the bento box. My favorite part is the small glass they give you for your beer
