Came here for an early dinner. We managed to beat the weekend rush and got seated right away. The place is clean amd the server was very friendly. We ordered baked mussels, seaweed salad, cream cheese wontons, and garlic edamame for appetizers. For our main entrees we got the BSC roll, Tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, 911 roll, and one other roll from the special menu that I cannot, for the life of me remember the name.Baked mussels- The sauce they put over it was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Mussels were cooked right with a good chewy but soft texture.Garlic edamame- The seasoning was delicious and the roasted garlic chips added so much flavor.Seaweed salad- Refreshing and a good palate cleanser. It was mildly sweet with a tangy finish. Nice crunchy texture.Cream cheese wontons- Perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside. The dipping sauce provided was the best I've ever tasted. It has a honey flavor with a tangy finish.BSC Roll- I love scallops so this was my favorite. It comes baked and topped with a sweet sauce that ties all the flavors together.Tuna Roll- Can't go wrong with a classic! The tuna is fresh and it comes with a smoky sauce that brings out the flavors.Philadelphia Roll- Another classic! It has a creamy finish. I would recommend dipping in soy sauce though since it doesn't come with its own.911 Roll- The fish is once more peaking in freshness. It is wrapped with avocado which gives it a smooth finish. Drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce that was goes well with the whole dish.Mystery roll because I forgot the name, sorry- This had top notch presentation! It is savory with a kick and wrapped in rice paper so it is lighter on the palate.Wonderful meal overall, I especially commend the presentation.

Service was good. Food bad. Raw fish was old bordering on spoiled. Tuna was mushy, and salmon had a slimy shine to it. I could touch the tuna with a chopstick and it left an indentation - should bounce back. One of our party got sick from our meal. Most of the selections are shrimp, or baked fish. They don't know how to handle raw fish. Terrible!!!

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for several years, enjoying the "Magic Mountain Roll," which has always been my favorite. However, during my recent visit, I was quite disappointed to find that it was prepared differently than usual. Typically served in a bowl, this time it was on a plate, and the overall presentation was lacking. Additionally, the California sushi rolls were served cold, rather than warm as I have come to expect. The dish also lacked the usual soupy texture that makes it so enjoyable.I am uncertain if there has been a change in the kitchen staff or preparation methods, but I truly hope the management sees this feedback. As a local resident, I would appreciate any clarification regarding these changes. Unfortunately, if this is how the dish will be consistently prepared going forward, I may need to reconsider dining here in the future.Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fresh seafood, fast service! My hubby and I are new to the area and we were looking for a new sushi spot to call home. We came across this place since it's right on Main Street and decided to give it a try.We were greeted right away and although the place was packed, they were able to accommodate us right away. We ordered the hello kitty roll, tuna and avocado sushi, tuna and spinach, shrimp and cream cheese roll and the eel roll.Everything came out fast and the quality of the fish was excellent. The wait staff was very friendly and the price point was fair. We're definitely going to try a few more sushi spots but were very impressed with this location.

I've been coming to sushi on fire for years and it never disappoints! Mama is also the best, if you're a regular she recognizes you and makes sure you receive great customer service! Some of our favorite rolls are 3's company (comes with this yummy sauce in the middle) Girl on the beach, and Red Crunchy. Also, you HAVE to get the spicy garlic edamame. Has the best crunchy garlic on it!

We always enjoy sushi on fire on Main Street! Tonight I decided to try something I haven't tried before and I chose the "animal" specialty roll. I unfortunately didn't like it. To me, it tasted sour as if lemons or limes had been doused on top of it. I had mentioned to the server that I didn't like the roll, and she assured me that no lemons or limes are used on it, and that the roll is most popular with their other customers.I'm not sure why I didn't like it or why it was sour, but my husband tried it too and he also agreed with me that it was sour. The lady was very nice and she did remove it from our bill and we did not have to pay for it.I tried the Halloween specialty roll for the first time tonight as well and I enjoyed that one very much! My husband also tried it and he liked it as well. I myself will be more cautious when ordering specialty rolls I haven't tried before and will definitely reorder the Halloween roll again!

Trendy sushi restaurant in downtown Huntington Beach. The restaurant was packed when we arrived on a Sunday night for a birthday dinner. Staffs were attentive. Pretty extensive menu selection. Casual atmosphere inside seating and some on the patio. Delicious food and pricing reasonable for a sushi place.

We were in the area, for a bonfire, so we decided to eat here before heading to it. We arrived around 4 pm, it was somewhat busy but several tables were available, but I imagine it can get busy specially on the weekend. There is outside seating as well. It took a few minutes to get greeted, and ordered drinks. They do have beers, but bottled only. They have huge selection of cut rolls, their menu also has pictures. My husband ordered the sashimi, and I ordered the roll on fire. We ordered a kids teriyaki, and also spicy edamame. A few items came out really fast, but my the roll on fire and the edamame took way longer. I liked that the food came out fast, but not all of what we ordered. It's annoying when restaurants only send out some of the entrees but not all. It leaves the person who still doesn't have their food, sitting there awkwardly. We had to remind the server about the two items that were still missing. The rolls are actually pretty big, and tasty. I usually order 1-2 rolls, but one rolls was enough.

I stand by my previous review: incredible food, fast service, and dog-friendly (plus pescavegan and food-allergy friendly).Take it from someone who has moved from LA, and nom'd in Orange County for over a year. Sushi on Fire is a must whether you're a tourist hungry for the best of Huntington, or an O.C. native yearning for quality sushi. Sake pictured is now my go-to, so drink up for that Cali-drenched goodness.
