The restaurant is located inside of a strip and they were able to receive our group of 15+ for a late lunch on Saturday. The restaurant is clean and gives you that small business vibe. For how many of us were there, the food came out reasonably fast. Many of us ordered the gamjatang and I ordered the black goat stew. The black goat stew was a bit unassuming when it first came out because it didn't look that big, but as I dug into it there was so much meat! Every bite was delicious. The flavors were there and I appreciated the slight spice even though the menu said there was no spice. The next time I come, I'll likely try the gamjatang because it looked really impressive!

This restaurant is in a small strip mall. As the strip mall is small, parking is limited. This restaurant used to be called Doori Korean restaurant. I frequented it before the owner changed and the food quality went down. I heard that the business eventually got sold again. This Korean restaurant is called SoDam Doori Restaurant. They have a new owner, new menu, clean atmosphere, good staff, and good food. I'm just glad the food is actually good! The food here taste clean. You won't be getting the countryside grandma taste that some Koreans seek. However, you won't feel lethargic and gross after eating. Also, they are generous with the banchans (side dishes) and ssam (lettuce). Some places charge extra for extra lettuce. Hope more people frequent this establishment. I want it stick around for a while!

It's hard to find a good authentic Korean places to eat in Orange County and Sodam is one place you're guaranteed yummy food if you're willing to drive 40 minutes from Huntington Beach to Fullerton. Sodam was introduced to me by my sister who recently moved to Buena Park and found some good authentic a Korean food places to eat and Sodam happens to be one of them. Most of the dishes at Sodam are responsibly priced, good portions and super yummy. Some of our favorites dishes are the daktoritang (spicy chicken stew) and their haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) and their their octopus bibimbap in the stone pot and their gamjatang (spicy pork neck stew). Everything in their menu is worth trying and it's reasonable priced and good portions. They use fresh ingredients and reminds me of my mother's home style cooking. All the dishes are super flavorful and you never feel heavy & sick even when you overeat. The staff at the restaurants are always kind and helpful and despite how busy they are, they manage to take care of you. Great service and the best part is we always have a bunch of leftovers to take home and their food is always consistent. The restaurant isn't big, but it's nice and quiet place to eat in a clean environment. Don't get fixated on the 1 star reviews or the lack of reviews and they're not complaining about the food quality, either. Give this place a chance and it might turn out to be a gem for you. It's definitely for us and we always looked forward to eating here at least once a month.

Was seated immediately and ordered within 5 mins of entering this place. Then they ignored my table for 30 mins. Didnt even give me side dishes even though I requested it. They dont even make any eye contact with you. There were 5 other tables with their food but it looked like the server/owner knew them? Because they requested side dishes AFTER me but they still got them. Terrible service. You are more then welcome to go if you like waiting hours for your food and like to get ignored!

Much like Yedang in La Habra, non-gimmicky, straight forward Korean restaurants don't get the love they deserve on social media. I ventured out of my usual, Korean togo options and decided to try this place out via postmates, and Sodam was just that; straight forward, traditional Korean eats, fermentation-heavy and well executed. The soup base was excellent, and so were the banchan. I would reorder the spicy pork and calamari stir fry - the volcanic-lava sauce ladened plate had a ton of texture, the sea protein blanched perfectly medium rare. 4 to 5 stars depending on how hungry you are. Really delicious Korean food, thumbs up.

The first thing I did after driving back from Palm Springs was look for Korean food. I mean 3 days without white rice and kimchi is serious!!!Anyhow, ended up at this restaurant. They serve 6 banchan's. I guess they offer shareable combo meals for larger parties but they also have traditional soups, stews and other dishes for one person.I ordered the short rib miso soup with sun dried greens (radish leaves, long cabbages, etc.). It's supposed to have a super dose of vitamins in concentrated form. The soup broth was very good, just the right amount of garlic in the miso. The meat was very tender. The banchans were all delish, esp the squash and cucumber kimchi.Their brown rice is cooked to al dente. It's a small portion but they will give you another bowl if you ask.Service was perfunctory. They get you what you want when you ask, but they don't offer or check up on you.The iced barley tea was outstanding. They had a lot of traditional menu items I would like to try.

Good food, prompt service, variety of comfort food and not overly salty food. The displayed menu has no price listed since unstable market prices of ingredients. Menu book has prices but all the items are 7-10% higher than most Korean restaurants but it's worth it. Banchan and yukgaejang are delicious and not salty like most places.
