Restaurant located in the City of Industry in the same Plaza as In N Out. This Chinese restaurant was my first time here for lunch. Came with a group of nine people and sat in a private area with a large round table. Ordered around 12 dishes and each dish was tasty. My favorite would be the vegetables, and also the deep-fried fish. I just love how crispy it is. Everyone enjoyed the lunch and each dish was pretty large and everything was shadable. We also paired it with some plain white rice. There are plenty of different options from seafood, meat, pork, beef, chicken, tofu, and tons of vegetable dishes. You won't have a problem in ordering and if anything you will be stuffed with happiness.

Parking: free parking. But there's an In-n-out across the way and the drive through is chaotic. Makes the entire parking lot a mess during busy times. Service: Went on a Sunday evening. Opens at 5pm and they were able to seat us right away. We left around 6:30 and it was mediocrely busy. It seems like larger groups like to go. More groups of 6+ arrived around 6pm. They still seated them decently fast and responded to us dinning at a good speed. Food: buy 4 main dishes, get the 5th one free. Can't tell you what we ordered but all 5 dishes were pretty good.

Super Solid!Old school dishes with fresh ingredients and preparation.Get your Chinese banquet style dishes at Cafe prices. We usually come for family gatherings since they have small banquet rooms that should fit at least 15, maybe can squeeze more in. I don't think we have ever had more than 12, but still had space.I pretty much have liked everything we have ever ordered.

I visited Shanghai Chinese Kitchen 3 times in a week, is it good? Yes, it's very good to me. Their food quality is very good. They also have other store in Hacienda Heights for at least 15 years since I used to bring my daughter to eat there. Now they open this store in Rowland Heights area which is really convient to us. They have buy 4 dishes and get 1 dish FREE promotion right now. They have a rich menu which contains Shanghai, JiangZhe, Taiwan and Cantonese cuisine. Inestine Fire Pot ($18.99) was really good, Bitter Melon w/Salty Egg ($16.99) was pretty good. Lamb Hot Pot ($27.99) was really great, it's good for the cold weather, and match with Sesame Cake ($12.99) which is also unique dish in this restaurant. Stir Fired Crab with Garlic and Chili ($47.98) was amazing, one of my favor dish here, must order this! Brown San Meat Ball ($15.99) was great. Yam Rib Soup ($17.99) was ok. Shredded Pork w/Dry Bean Curd ($11.99) was great. Preserved Veg w/ Fried Egg ($10.99) was pretty good. Their lunch menu has all kind of dishes price from $10.99 to $12.99 which is really good for the lunch. Service is good. We chatted briefly to the owner which is very friendly and nice person. This is will be my favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Rowland Heigths area now.

First visit and really enjoyed it. Small, clean restaurant located among many eateries and shops in the Puente Hills East shopping center. Parking can be tough, especially near this restaurant, as In-n-Out Burger is in the immediate vicinity and it's always super busy. The restaurant has a nice décor, including actual tablecloths which give it a higher end look. They also have a private dining area for groups/parties.SERVICE: Slight language barrier with the wait staff, but as long as you order by the number on the menu, it works out. They were both very pleasant, but trying to get side items, like Chinese mustard for the egg rolls was a challenge. In the end, we received wasabi and soy sauce.FOOD: Wow, some of the items we ordered were a-ma-zing! The Hot & Sour Soup ($14.99) was one of the best I've ever had. Even my wife and mother-in-law loved it, and it's usually not a favorite of theirs. The House Fried Rice ($15.99) was very good, and the Shanghai Pork Ribs ($17.99) were awesome! We also ordered the Walnut Shrimp ($20.99) and 3 Egg Rolls ($3.50). They were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. A complimentary pot of hot tea was provided to each table, however, we missed finishing off with fortune cookies or orange slices, which is common among other Chinese restaurants. NOTE: "Lunch Special" menu is available from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.Overall, a wonderful experience...we'll definitely be returning.

Our friend recommended this place and we came to try. They have a lot of items on menu, including Cantonese, Taiwanese and Shanghainese food...we ordered a three cup chicken, string beans, fish with corns, green onion pancakes, a beef fried noodles, and a fried rice...they are having a boy 4 get one dish free. Everything was very tasty and portion is huge! 4 of us could not finish everything and took home and finish the rest. 93 including tips and tax...very good price for inflation nowadays!

Shanghai Chinese Kitchen is a higher end version of Pauline's Chinese Kitchen. Pauline's Chinese Kitchen is a lot samler but the many of the same dishes carry over. Owner said he wanted the restaurant to present it as a higher end place instead of a small papa and mama shop. Shanghai Chinese Kitchen has 2 rooms that you can reserve for your parties and the minimum is as much as other restaurants that usually require $400 or more. I believe the minimum room order is about $150 or $250. I don't remember which is correct. In comparison to their other small restaurant this is really an upgraded version of it. I was there with a big group of people and remembered some great dishes we tried. They are always busy and packed during the weekend. They get packed early according to the owner. The elderly groups like to dine earlier so they can rest early. We were there 3 times in a week and only one time wasn't totally full but the rest was full and we needed to wait about 10-20 minutes for the table. If you walk in and you will see a chalkboard in Chinese all day starting 12/22/22 you can get 4 dishes and get 1 free(lowest priced dish) with exception of holidays and special dishes. You should always ask if your ordered dishes qualify the 4+1 deal while ordering it, the server will let you know if those dishes qualify the deal. We have tried following dishes with 3 visited to the restaurant:Intestine Fire Pot - Great, It was an authentic Taiwanese dish and flavor and all the ingredients were cooked nicely. Chef has cleaned the pork intestine nice and removed excess fat. Bitter Melon w/Salty Egg - Good, This is a traditional Taiwanese dish. It is one dish that can be hit or miss since the ingredients are simple, but if prepared wrong the dryness of salty egg can seal your mouth shut.Stew Lamb w/ Bean Curd Sheet in Pot - Good, this stew has thick sauces and strong taste to it; therefore Sesame Pan Cake is great to dip inside the sauce which will soak it well and enjoy it soft inside while crispy outside.Sesame Pan Cake - Great, it is crispy outside and soft inside which goes well by itself or the Stew Lamb dish above.Stir Fried Crab with Garlic and Chili - Excellent, this is our favorite dish that was not cooked salty which preserves freshness of crab yet nicely flavored with light breaded flour coating.Brown San Meatball - Great, nice prepare huge and decent for the priceJapanese Yam & Spareribs Soup - Ok, very light flavored soup it would be better if it cooked a little longer and let the ingredients thicken the flavor of the soup. Cured Pork w/ Bamboo Shoot Casserole - Good, this is a traditional Shanghainese soup which requires several key ingredients to enhance the soup. One key ingredient is the cured pork, in this case they might need more or have stronger flavor cured pork to enhance the soup.Shredded Pork w/Dry Bean Curd - Good, this dish and dish below are similar flowered dishes. It really depends on your mood that you want to have bamboo or bean curd.Shredded Pork w/Bamboo Shoot - Good, this dish and dish above are similar flowered dishes. It really depends on your mood that you want to have bamboo or bean curd.Shanghai Style Spareribs - Good, it is the most tender but pretty good in flavor and texture. This will be great for kids.Preserved Veg w/ Fried Egg - Good, This is a traditional Taiwanese dish. The key for this dish is to soak the preserved vegetables to reduce the saltiness. Chef, has done it and cooked nicely and not too oily. Some places will use lots of oil to make it fluffy, even if it tasted great it will be oily. "A" Vegetable with Garlic - Good, It was cooked nicely and not over oiled.Cabbage with/ Vrmicelli - Ok, different style than expected was ok but not my favor.Green Onion Chicken - Great, this dish is nice not because of how the chicken was cooked it is because of the green onion sauce that goes with it. You can use this sauce to dip about anything and enhance the flavor. The saltiness of the sauce was done perfectly.Roast Squab - Good, this is pretty popular. We ordered 2 but were told only one left. I am glad there is only one left since it comes with 4 pieces which can be shared among 4 of us. It was nicely flavored and tender.Overall, it is a great place for everyday dining. There are dishes that resemble mama's home cooking which brought a lot of return customers. Server was attentive and will pack your left items to go for you. We'll definitely return again.

Pretty good Chinese food and generous portions. Asked for no msg. The owner was nice. The restaurant also looked clean. The only thing is the beef was very tender. I hope they didn't use any meat tenderizer.
