A real hidden gem. It's a hole in the wall and the staff speaks mostly Chinese, but that's how you know it's good. Amazing xian good. My favorite thing to get is the liang pi and the lamb pita bread soup. Prices are good. Since the opening of the food court in the same plaza, parking has been more difficult, but worth the effort me I always. I always try to go by when I can to help support a small business and make sure the places I love stay open. It's worth the try!

Visited on a Saturday night. It was empty but I wanted to try this shaanxi spot. Food was not what I expected, I think there was a translation barrier. Got "shanxi minced noodle soup" - I learned the "minced" was minced pork fat, rather than minced pork, (shaanxi is pork). I personally did not like it, it was just too fatty for it. Other things on their menu are probably better, think I just got something not that great. Small family business where they have their child hang out in the restaurant. Support your local businesses! Was easy to call in for pick up and food took 10 minutes to be ready. Conveniently next door to the Chinese super market and food court. Cash only if total is under $25.

Quick lunch spot.. outside looks like a new building, inside looks very dated. But the staff were welcoming and friendly, service was fast and food is pretty good. Spicy steamed cold noodle with sesame sauce: good chew on the noodles - sesame sauce is a bit liquidity - personally not spicy enough Cumin lamb burger: good flavors with chili. Shaanxi Minced Noodle Soup: it was okay.. noodles are too thin..

I came here with my dad for a quick lunch. I haven't tried their noodles yet. Will be back to try it out. I got an order of the Cumin hamburger and the lamb skewers. Both of them was pretty good. The bun is toasty and crunchy while not too thick. The lamb meat inside was tender and juicy. It's also filled with jalapeños but wasn't too spicy. The lamb skewers are a bit fatty. The seasoning on it was delicious. Service was quick. There's a parking lot. The restaurant is a little small, but normal for this type of food.

DELICIOUS FOOD. I go to this plaza all the time, but never even noticed this place. I'm glad I got to go with someone who suggested it since it's my first time trying cuisine from this region. What I've learned recently is to always get the dishes that are unique to whatever regional cuisine the restaurant gets it's namesake from or whatever they specialize in since so many Chinese restaurants offer a smorgasbord of almost everything under the sun (that means whatever Americanized styled dishes that you're craving for!)We got the: 1) Shanxi Spicy Cold Steamed Noodle: -YOU HAVE TO GET THIS. IT'S ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, SO SO GOOD. -It's a specialty from this region and even as I'm typing this I'm drooling at the thought of eating it again. -The noodles are very doughy, and bready and soaked up all the sauces to the point of being soggy, but the texture still had some chewiness to it, despite the softness. Perfection. -Crunchy thinly sliced cucumber and beansprouts and pieces of bread also soaked up the cilantro sauce wonderfully. The spiciness wasn't too strong, so I could inhale everything. 2) Qishan Spicy Pork Minced Burger: -With the slight dryness of the bread, the moist and tender pork, along with the chili oil made a great combination. 3) Lamb Pita Bread Lamb Soup: -Lamb was moist and slid right off the bone. -Lots of clear noodle and not gonna lie, this is the first time I've EVER had soup with bread in it (that's not croutons). -The bread, although soggy, soaked up the soup nicely and added to the doughy texture (as it's supposed to be). -Interesting dish and if I wasn't so fixated on the other noodles, I would have eaten much more of this. 4) Shangxi pepper Chili Soup:-Lots, lots, lots of veggies (carrots, cabbage, and green beans)! -Thick consistency soup (cringe, but I really just wanted to use it as sauce on rice), but it came with so much. -Came out super hot and it wasn't spicy either. Kinda sour, not too salty, and a bit peppery. -Also had lots of meatballs in it too. Very unique meatballs with some doughy bread in it too. Definitely a different texture from what I'm used to. Opened super late in comparison to other restaurants in the area and the food is also affordable. Portions are pretty huge too and we ended up taking both soups to go. Definitely coming back to try more and to get more of those amazing noodles.

We pass this place all the time when grocery shopping next door. Noticed on the window, pictures of some of their specialties, took special attention to a hamburger looking sandwich, meat filling between two pieces of thick pan-fried dough. The following is what we ordered and what we thought of it-Stewed pork burger - 2/5, just ok, pieces of fatty pork, soak in a broth, laid between two pan fried dough, greasy, little weak on seasoning.Beef burger - 2/5, again, just ok, thinly sliced beef between two pan fried dough, less flavor than the stewed pork, plain, hint of beef flavor.Deep fried croaker fish - 5/5, best dish of the night, lightly crispy, hot and moist on the inside, perfectly cook and seasoned.Pan fried string beans - 2/5, slightly spiced, had a chance to be decent, but way too salty, had to pour some of our drinking water in to dilute the saltiness.Dining room fairly plain and simple, small, could use a makeover, approximately around 10 tables. Kind of clean.Waitress was nice, helpful and attentive. Extra points for her giving us a free Coke and an apology when we mentioned the overly salted string beans.Highly unlikely we'll come back, but I did see something on the menu that caught my attention, spicy fried chicken, so maybe I'll be back to try that.

They are not a Shaanxi place, they have no idea what Shaanxi food is supposed to taste like, pork smells bad and is far from fresh.

My boyfriend found this place for us to try! Shaanxi food always sounds good so I of course said yes! We are so glad we discovered this place for hot, spicy, flavorful, and authentic Shaanxi food. If you didn't know Shaanxi is a province in in China famous for its Terracotta Soldiers. But within China, it has a local speciality, the biang biang mian (油泼扯面) - a form of hand pulled noodles! We loved the dish. Among other delicious dishes, we also got lamb paomo 羊肉泡馍 - lamb soup with little dough chunks. It was the BEST! After having this here, I know where to go next time there is a craving! We also ordered Spicy Cumin Lamb Skewers or 羊肉串儿 pronounced Yang Rou Chuan, to top it all off. All three dishes were delicious and hot! We will definitely be back for more delicious and authentic Shaanxi food!

WHEN: 1/21/22Shaanxi Datang is 100% the most underrated sichuan restaurant. Every time I come home to LA I tell my family I want to eat here because no other place has noodles this good and this affordable and with such big portions. It's a family owned eatery and on any given day you can see the daughter doing her homework on one of the tables while father cooks in the kitchen and the mom serves the food. If you walk into any restaurant and see this, know the foods gonna hit. What we usually get:A02. Spicy Cold Steamed Noodle w/ Sesame Sauce ($7) - liang pi! My favorite cold noodles with vinegary and peanutty flavors so good!C14. Hot Boiled Fish Fillet ($15) - huge massive bowl of boiled fish, very very spicy D06. Chili Oil Noodle w/ Lamb add on ($13) - hands down the best dish. Hand pulled biang biang noodles served in a similar spicy vinegar sauce as the liang pi but with tender pieces of lamb. Hits the spot every time. Shaanxi Datang is consistent, cheap, fast, friendly, and always delicious. I wish more people would try them out. The outside may not seem like much but please support this business. I really don't want them to shut down

I come here all the time for their spicy cumin lamb mixed noodle, spicy cold steam noodles, and spicy cumin squid (not on the menu, but you can always ask if they have it and can make it for you!). The noodle texture is always on point! The spicy cumin squid- the flavors mix well together. Everybody in the family loves this dish! We've tried other things like the hot boiled fish (also very good), and lamb skewers (the kids like this).I won't comment on the other dishes I've tried as it seems they were under a different owner back then? All in all, give this place a try. The owners are nice and the noodles are great!
