If you're craving sushi, this casual counter style place hits the spot while being kind to your wallet. The bento boxes are a wicked deal.My mom's combo, about $12, had more than 2 meals worth! They should charge more for what they give!Katsu combo has had two generous patties whereas other places have one.Poke bowl - I appreciated having both salmon and tuna but greens were missing. Instead had a lot of cucumbers. It was overwhelming as our first time here. No menus, everything's posted above the counter. Service was great and the owner is patient and gracious. Rolls, noodles and salads also on the menu and catering is available. Sango is located in a chill, beautiful area accented with flowers and palm trees. They don't have outdoor tables but the strip mall has its own. Wish they were closer to me but the food is worth a drive.

I moved into the neighborhood in, and I have been patronizing Sango Sushi since, 2002.This restaurant is good whenever I want a non-nonsense sushi meal. The sushi "Combo A" and "Combo B" are samplers of the most commonly ordered sushi items on one plate and provide a good meal for the solo diner.The noodle bowls are also good.

I went to Sango recently since the Sango restaurant in Los Alomitos closed :'( the staff was very friendly and super helpful with my order. I ordered the Seasme Chicken which is what I would usually order at Sango. Their Seasme Chicken comes with rice, salad, carrots, coand broccoli. The main reason why I love their chicken is that their chicken is crisp and not overly salty. The Sesame chicken at this location was good but it seems it was fried a bit different? I'm hoping it was just the day that I went. But since it tasted almost the same I would still order it again. Note: -They have plenty of parking spaces.-They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating -They are open on Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays they open at 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM

We ordered around 11:30am for lunch. I paid and tipped. Small and quaint restaurant. I rated them three stars because the lady that took our order told me she would bring our food outside once it was ready. We were busy talking and then I realized it had been 30min! I went inside to ask and she had it on the counter packed for to-go. I was annoyed that she didn't think to call me or actually come outside where we were sitting. By the time we got our food, it was luke warm and that just left a negative impression on me. It was my first time dining here and unless my friend wants to come back, I most likely won't. We got the Super Bento box and Bento Box. Overall, the food was decent and pricing was fair for what you get. They are generous with the quantity.

Tried here for the first time, ordered to go and got our food in less than 5 minutes. Better value than most Japanese / sushi restaurants around imo. The lunch special is cheap at 10.25 for teriyaki chicken bowl, soft drink, and choice of side dish. We got the California roll for the side (4 pieces). The chicken was overcooked and dry, they gave quite a bit of rice in the bowl, and the sushi rolls had a stronger seaweed taste than what I am used to. We shared the bowl with a super crunchy roll too, it ended up being enough for 2 people. I definitely plan on coming back to try other things on the menu.

This is a small unassuming sushi spot which caught our attention with their sign advertising their $12.75 bento box which listed 1/2 a rainbow role, ribeye teriyaki chicken, salmon nigiri, chicken Katanga, miso soup, salad, steamed vegetables, and seaweed salad. We found out it was the starting price but ordered it anyways because it was only $18. We couldn't believe the amount of food it was and everything came out fresh, hot and absolutely delicious! It seriously is a meal for two people. Of course my husband ate all his and I had to take most of mine to go. This is a must try when you're craving a sushi meal and not looking to spend $70.

We were eating on the run, so I got the Tempura Appetizer (tempura shrimp & assorted vegetables) and the Combo B (Cal roll: tuna, salmon, shrimp, white fish, albacore, squid, yellowtail and egg) for us to share in the car. The tempura shrimps, sweet potato, carrot, and zucchini were light, crispy, and perfect with the dipping sauce. Mom loves Cal rolls, so I ate the rest of the combo. It was the perfect lunch for us at a great price point. For those who are looking for a top notch gourmet sushi bar experience, go to Nobu. If you are looking for an inexpensive sushi fix, then this is the place to go!
