We love the snack size Mardi Gras Monte Cristo sandwich. The full size is huge at Cafe Orleans & the Blue Bayou. It's 2 large sandwiches cut in half so there's 4 pieces. This is a smaller sandwich, cut in half and it's just like the Monte Cristo sandwich but smaller. It's much better than the Monte Cristo breakfast waffle and it also comes with jam. It is a bit greasy. If you have a sweet tooth, you will love the tangerine cream soda. It has tangerine syrup in sprite with a nondairy creamer and a sugared tangerine jelly candy on the side. My favorite drink this trip. Order on the app and pick up at the window. It's a fast food line. Napkins and forks on the side cart. There's usually a cashier and someone comes by periodically to wipe down the table. It does get busy and sometimes it's hard to get a table. But if you do, great views for people watching. This is one of my favorite snack places. They change the menu periodically.

With so many places to eat around Disneyland, Royal Street Veranda can sometimes be overlooked. This quick-service spot offers clam chowder, plant-based chili, and unique seasonal snacks--solid 3.75 star, a-ok rating for me. As of February 2025, the breakfast menu includes the popular Waffle Cristo (in full and half orders), seasonal snacks, and beverages. For lunch and dinner, entrées include clam chowder or plant-based chili in a sourdough bread bowl, seasonal items, kids' meals, and non-alcoholic beverages. The snack-size Mardi Gras Monte Cristo was delicious and comforting, perfect for one person or to share with a friend. The sourdough bread bowls can be a hit or miss. Although I have had fresh bread in the past, the bread in my recent order was cold and stale. Also, the price is the same whether you get the chowder or chili with or without the bread bowl. I think you'd get more soup in a regular bowl. I'll have to verify that next time. They sometimes charge extra for the little dipping sauce or extra jam cups. It would have been nice to include it with the items. There is one window for walk-up ordering and one for pickup, including mobile orders. Mobile ordering is the way to go and save time. Magic Key discounts also apply. There are a few tables available at RSV but they can be crowded. You can also walk over to Tiana's Palace, Harbour Galley, or Stage Door Cafe (next to River Belle Terrace) for additional tables and breathing room.Note: I prefer the clam chowder at Aunt Cass's in DCA. ;)

FOODLentil Chili ($12.99) - Plant-based/vegan option. Lentil chili that comes in a sourdough bread bowl. The bread bowl that it comes in is HUGE. But they don't really carve it out much, so the actual amount of chili inside is pretty disappointing. Also, the meat inside (chorizo) was unsettling and gross. It came in a big chunk the size of a quarter and they didn't do a good job at mashing it. It tasted like unseasoned soggy cardboard and my girlfriend was close to throwing up. The rest of the chili tasted like health food, so not super salty. Wouldn't buy this again just because of the chorizo. If you're intent on eating the whole bread bowl, then I'd say this meal definitely feeds 2 purely because of how much bread they give you.SERVICE/FACILITIESEverything is located outdoors. You stand in line, order with a cast member, and then pick up your food tray at a window. There's a condiment bar with tabasco hot sauce, utensils, napkins, sugar, etc. The seating is very packed and is outdoors, but has umbrellas to shade you from the sun/rain. Right as we were about to sit down, a cast member rushed over and wiped our table down for us! With the tables being crammed together, and the Disneyland crowds in motion a few feet away from you, the dining area is very noisy and claustrophobic. OVERALL THOUGHTSNot the best that Disneyland has to offer. With Disneyland basically being a mini walkable city with a plethora of restaurants a walk away, I'd recommend somewhere else unless there's a particular entrée you're looking for. It's located in the heart of New Orleans Square, so you have so many other options to choose from.

If you like Disney's monte Cristo sandwiches, I DO NOT recommend coming here for the mini version. They are premade and are sitting in warming ovens. I also don't recommend the baked cheesy biscuits, which were also pre-plated and sitting in a warmer. The biscuits were hard, and had a prominent garlic powder flavor. I also ordered the side of Cajun cheese sauce ($1.39) and it was needed to offset the garlicky-ness :( If you get anything from here, stick to the classic chowder in a bread bowl!

Service was fast with mobile order being available instantly and our drink being served within minutes. The ambiance is a very days food pick up window. Our Pumpkin King Cold Brew was pretty good with our favorite parts being the toffy chips and white chocolate Jack Skellington. This looks good and tastes good with some fun cinnamon spiced flavors. It was a tad more sweet than necessary but this is Disneyland after all .

Mobile ordering is available! Service was fast. I received my drink within a few minutes of placing my order. This review is for the Pumpkin King Cold Brew. It was definitely on the sweeter side and had a very strong pumpkin and cinnamon flavor. It was a tad bit grainy and would settle at the bottom so I had to keep mixing it up. I loved the toffee and the Jack Skellington on top was so cute! Overall, it was just okay. Probably wouldn't order it again but it was nice to try.

The Clam Chowder Bread bowl is the best thing I've ever put in my mouth . I get it every Disneyland trip. Creamy, warm, savory, and perfectly seasoned. I can't say the same for the Lentil Chili/Plant-based Bowl. Cold and flavorless. Bowls are $12.99. The bread, sourdough, is not as soft as I would like, but it doesn't bother me. Standby and mobile order lines are both fast. Cast Members (staff) are quick and helpful. The seating area is small. I usually walk to other areas to find tables.

We were there to try the viral Waffle Cristo for breakfast! But we were 45 min too late (they stopped serving it at 10am) The lovely lady at the cashier suggested the Pimento-Cheese Fritters instead. Fried Fritters filled with a Blend of Cheeses and Pimento served with a Cajun Aïoli Dipping Sauce. Ok but wait, these fritters were YUMMY! And the aioli was quite tasty. Fried well, not greasy, and not too salty either. Overall, totally a snack I'd eat again!!!

Not a whole lot of options. the waffle cristo is good, but too tiny for the price, even for the full. it definitely wont fill you up.
