Roman's Mexi-Cali Grill

In the small place was entered in with a nice smile. They have a nice sized menu. I'm here for the breakfast, but looking at what others are eating the chimichanga and their tacos look very good.. All look legit. The service here is five stars. Portion sizes are very fair.

This place has some really good stuff and some not so much. Tried the breakfast, it was OK, not great. The burgers are huge but very pedestrian as are the fries. The carne asada isn't bad but too much gristle. The carnitas is good' but a little dry, it needs help. The carnitas quesadilla is killer with the cheese and meat. The cheese enchilada I loved the red enchilada sauce and the little salad on the side, surprisingly tasty.The service is friendly and cool and the prices are more than reasonable.

Good food and friendly service for this area. It's a good place to get it to go while working around here. Cash is preferred otherwise a fee for using the card.Make sure to let them know , no cheese on the burritos if you are lactose intolerant like myself

I had asked the dude at the cashier box to put some lemon in the bag and he told me "for sure, I got you" And when I got home there was no lemon. And on top of that my tacos looked more like a salad like they had no care to put it together

Tonight got 2 burritos - Sunset (steak and shrimp) and Carne Asada, plus guacamole and chips and a Diet Coke. Total was $35.51.The Carne Asada burrito should have been rung up as a Build Your Own Burrito (BYOB) for $6.99 since it just had carne asada, beans and cheese. Also, I don't think they have refried beans, only pinto and black.The Sunset burrito with steak and shrimp is $12.99 - so that's $19.98 so far. That means the balance was the chips and guacamole and Diet Coke plus tax. Last time I ordered chips and guacamole, they charged me $3.99 for chips and salsa, then custom item $2.99 plus custom item $.50. Does that mean guacamole costs $7.48? Not worth that. The guacamole was in the same small container as a salsa. There was also a large pit piece in there.(see picture) Total so far $27.46. The most they would charge for a canned soda would be $2-3.00? Let's say $3.00 in this scenario. We're at $30.46. Plus Huntington Beach sales tax at 7.75% = $32.82. Charged $35.51. I don't see where it's coming from unless I was charged the "gullible dumb lady." fee.I do not like that they charge via "custom item" since you don't actually know what they are charging you for. Seems very arbitrary, like depending on how they feel about you, if you're a regular or how much money you look like you have, they will charge more or less. This sucks because Roman's is literally across the street from our place. But maybe shame on me for not asking more questions when I got rung up tonight.

Decided to try this spot for a breakfast burrito. Saw the good reviews for Roman's Mexi-Cali Grill. Had high expectations but it was okay. It was a classic breakfast burrito but I was hoping for something with a little bit more flavor. Super nice workers and lots of menu items. Might come back to try their other stuff. Indoor and outdoor seating available

Great food, nice people, nice atmosphere. I like their asada tacos. Their wet burrito is good too.

Current rating does not match what I was served.Carne Asada FriesGuac was brownSour cream had something added to itMeat was burntFries were great.Pico was visibly not fresh; wilted cilantro and translucent onion.Guys in the back, when they saw my order requesting all the condiments on the side, started making jokes that I should order cheese fries. Who cares how I choose to eat my food. Please just make it. Condiment like these, is the primary reason I always ask for them on the side.Not impressed

Best burrito I've had. This is coming from 63-year-old lifelong SoCal Mexican food lover. Seriously.

Great post surf burrito. Highly recommend specifically the breakfast sausage and bacon
