Yelp waitlist is available. It can get busy but tables move quickly since food is pretty quick to make. Pretty good quality Cambodia food. You don't have to go all the way south to the main Cambodia drag of Long Beach. Food tastes pretty authentic. I like the chicken dishes. The combination of pickled veggies and broth makes a complete entree. On this occasion we got Hainan chicken (yeah not really a Cambodian dish) but it has the flair with the more SE sauces and veggies. We also got lok lak with chicken. It was tasty though could use more veggies.

Be careful with using your credit card here as they suddenly charged my credit card almost TWO years after my visit (and I'm not based in California).I came here in Summer 2023 and that was the last time I visited. When I was going through my usual end-of-month credit card bill check the other day, I saw a charge of USD$115.63 from them on Feb 16.First of all, I'm not based in the U.S. and was not recently stateside - let alone paying them a visit. Second of all, I did not lose my credit card so as for HOW they were able to charge my credit card almost two years after my visit is beyond me.This is so bizarre! I contacted them via DM right away and they have not provided a response so far. I was fine with their food when I visited, but this incident is way too suspicious - and I hope they will come back with an answer soon.

Can i gatekeep this spot forever?! :')This is one of my all-time favorite casual dining restaurants. i been fr sleeping on this cambodian fusion spot. it's one of those places you could never get sick of because you can constantly change the flavors of each dish with add-ons, sauces, etc. HIGHLY recommend.here's my holy grail order: shack wings, mo's special with big egg noodle mixed with small rice noodle, dry with soup on side (if you're hesitant to try their phnom penh noodle), beef stew with big rice noodle, bread sticks for everyone at the stable (they do it RIGHT), coconut connection (super refrehing hangover cure)just meh / would not recommend: spring rolls (tasted pre-made and stale), special sauce (the smell of it is not my preference), the iced fruit teas (mostly ice and kind of expensive)everyone here is super friendly. make sure to get on the yelp waitlist before you arrive! the wait can get crazy on a sunday afternoon. i once waited over an hour because it's really just that good.

The best Cambodian restaurant in LA/OC and You must TRY their food! I have been to RiceString several times now, and every visit has been nothing short of exceptional. Their food consistently exceeds my expectations, with flavors that are rich, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Whether you're craving something hearty, comforting, or just packed with flavor, RiceString delivers every time.I've had the pleasure of trying their Phnom Penh Noodles (both dry and soup versions), Porridge, Pin Noodles, and a few other menu items, and each dish has left me impressed. The Phnom Penh Noodles are perfectly balanced between savory and aromatic, with a depth of flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The Porridge is warm and satisfying, with the perfect consistency and just the right amount of seasoning. The Pin Noodles with sweet and sour sauce are a standout, offering a unique texture and taste that's hard to find elsewhere. Not only is the food incredible, but the dining experience as a whole is also worth highlighting. The restaurant has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with family or friends. The servers are friendly, attentive, and always eager to make sure everything is perfect for their customers. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality really enhance the overall experience.I believe RiceString is a second branch of the renowned Phnom Penh Noodle Restaurant in Long Beach, and they've definitely carried over the same level of quality and dedication to their food and service. It's clear that the team behind RiceString has a true passion for what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant. If you're looking for authentic and consistently delicious food in a cozy and welcoming environment, I can't recommend RiceString enough. It's easily one of my favorite spots, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their amazing dishes!

Yoooooooooooooooo! This place smacks! Been coming here ever since it replaced the old Guppies teahouse. Only reason i'm leaving a 4 star is because Ive ordered here a few times and they keep making the same mistakes lol but food still tastes amazing! One problem about order the Cornish Hen for takeout is they don't poke holes or let the fried chicken air out for the crispiness so if you're ordering that for takeout just order the Hainan chicken instead. Now for the problem with the Hainan chicken I always ask for the extra green sauce which is "green onion, scallion, sesame oil and ginger" and always offer to pay extra for a few and the person taking the order says no problem we can just add a few extra and they never do lol Please, please, please just charge me for it and make sure you give me the extra few. For the fried egg roll i find it mid just cause i want pork or some type of protein in it. As for the fresh spring rolls thats my mom and dads favorite cause of the sauce that comes with it, always good and no issue there. As for the fried rice thats always taste good whether its to be eaten there or togo and they give you protein options incase you dont want the sausage, we always order beef. Now as for the service as for speed is amazing whether i'm eating it there or take out food comes out quick, when I eat there servers always very friendly and attentive, when take out you gotta make sure to double check your order just saying this cause of the sauce issue multiple times. Ambiance of the place is family friendly style and restrooms has always been clean when ive gone to wash my hands. Price is very fair, you can feed more then 6 people for less then $100! Will definitely continue to come here with friends and family. Yeadigg!!!

So, I've passed by this place several times but finally decided to try it. Rocestring Noodle Shack is located on the corner of Pioneer and South St, across the street from Pizza Twist. If you're familiar with Cerritos it occupied what used to be Guppy Teahouse back then.Parking wasn't difficult, there was plenty in the lot surrounding the restaurant as well as some in front of where Gongcha and Rainbow donuts are (though I don't know if those spots are specifically designated for those respective businesses). The restaurant is a decent size with outside seating options. When we arrived it didn't seem terribly busy but there was a waitlist which you put yourself on via the tablet. Wait times were pretty accurate and we were seated in about 15 mins.Like I mentioned this space was previously Guppy Teahouse, so the interior layout was very much the same. Entrance is around the corner not on the side of the restaurant signage. There is seating in the waiting area to the right as you enter with various framed pictures. The dining area fills a sort of L-shaped space. There are also 2 restrooms along the back area near where my bf and I Sat.The service was ok when we went. The lady that sat us was very nice, and the servers that took our order were attentive...but that's sorta where it ended. I don't remember the staff ever checking up on us not even to refill our waters. So docking some points off from that. It kinda felt like we were forgotten as we were in the back. I went to the restroom near the end so I'm not sure if my bf had to get staffs attention for the check. It looked like tables near the front or outside may have been better attended to while we were there. Again it wasn't terrible service. No onto the food. We ordered the Hainan Chicken and Combodia Fried Rice. Definitely shareable. The Hainan Chicken was juicy in some parts and a little dry in other pieces. The rice was a little too mushy for my taste in some spot too. The house soup was so good though! Individually each component was mild in flavor, but eaten altogether with some of the ginger dipping sauce made for the perfect bite (how I understand Hainan Chicken is supposed to be eaten). The Combodian Fried rice was very flavorful, slightly on the sweet side. Rice was tender and each grain separated in proper fried rice fashion. We opted for beef which where were plenty of pieces, along with stir fried onions, Chinese broccoli and egg. I added sambal to mine which was perfect as I liked it a little more savory.Overall a good experience. Would love to try other maybe more traditional Cambodia dishes next visit!

As someone who's never had Cambodian food before, I don't have much to compare it to--this is purely my personal opinion. We ordered the famous Mo's Noodles with bone soup (soup out option), Hainan Chicken and Rice, and a side of fried egg rolls.Starting with Mo's Noodles, I was confused about why people order it dry (with the soup on the side), as you ultimately need the soup to pour into the noodles for flavor. I tried the dry version first, but it was completely tasteless, so I ended up pouring the soup into the noodles. Unfortunately, even then, something felt off--it still lacked flavor, and even the pork pieces didn't stand out. I tried adding fish sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha, but nothing seemed to elevate the taste. As for the Hainan Chicken and Rice, the chicken was juicy, but the rice lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting. The accompanying ginger sauce and other condiments couldn't compare to Savoy, which, in my opinion, still reigns as the best spot for Hainan chicken.Lastly, the fried egg rolls were underwhelming. They were mostly filled with vegetables, with minimal pork, and I personally prefer the flavor and texture of Vietnamese fried spring rolls wrapped with leaf lettuce and mint. Overall, it was interesting to try Cambodian food, but the dishes just didn't work for me. While the wait staff was friendly and attentive, I wouldn't find myself returning for another visit

This is one of our favorite restaurants! Our usual go to orders are the RP bowl and beef and meat ball (with thin egg noodles) with the soup out and an order of cha kuai (fried bread) Drinks are Buy 1 get 1/2 off (while it's not clearly stated on the menu, there's a sign out front or you can ask the waiter when you're ordering to confirm). We like to get the Ice Coffee and Coconut ConnectionThis is related to the iconic Phnom Penh Noodle shack, but this location is bigger and has easier parking so it's worth the drive from Long Beach. They have indoor and outdoor seating and can accommodate groups. Tip: If you don't feel like waiting on busy days, you could sometimes ask them to be seated at the bar for faster service

This Cambodian spot tucked away in a corner plaza used to be where Guppy TeaHouse used to be. Their menu is pretty extensive, ranging from soups, noodles, rice, and drinks. I ordered the shack wings, loat cha with shrimp and beef, matcha soy, and mo's special. Everything was so delicious, but the star has to be the shack wings. It was perfectly crispy & seasoned, there was no need for the dipping sauce at all. The matcha soy was surprisingly delicious as well. Service was nice and attentive. Definitely would come back!
