Found an amazing Korean spot in Buena Park near Cypress. Place looks casual and simple outside but their food is amazing!Their galbijjim is tender with perfect seasoning, not too spicy or sweet, and goes perfectly with their fluffy rice. Finally found a place that makes seafood pancake right! Most places serve soggy pancakes with barely any seafood, but this one's thick, packed with seafood, perfectly crispy outside and properly cooked inside. Makes for perfect rainy day takeout with makgeolli. The bossam here is so good.....! The pork is tender with no weird smell, and comes with house-made ssam mu (radish wraps). The staff told us that the owner makes everything in-house, even all the banchan like the regular kimchi and green onion kimchi that come with the bossam. The green onion kimchi especially pairs perfectly with the pork.Super friendly staff, free parking, and plenty of space in the lot. Too hungry to take pictures this time :(Definitely my new go-to spot when craving Korean food!

I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the service, and the cozy ambience here. I ordered the beef tofu soon soup and the fried mackerel fish. It was my first time having beef soon tofu soup. I got it mild spicy & it still had a lot of flavor! I learned that you crack a raw egg into the piping hot soup, and mix it around so that it gives the soup a creamy broth consistency. I can see myself coming back for the soup again and again because it was very comforting, and it didn't feel heavy. The fried mackerel with fresh lemon to squeeze on it was amazing as well! And I really enjoyed all of the sides that we received, especially the kimchi, the seaweed salad, the fish cakes and pickled radishes. They have a set of buttons on the table with different ways to communicate with the wait staff. So you can take your time to look at the menu and then call them when you're ready. The waitress gave us recommendations and vivid descriptions on how each dish differed. She so helpful! I didn't catch her name, but I really appreciate how sweet she was. Overall, I like the cozy, relaxed ambience that this restaurant provides. I also really appreciate that it's located in the shopping plaza with ample parking. I will be back!

I'm not one to throw around 5-star ratings lightly, but this place deserves it. Here's why:First off, Korean food--specifically tofu soups--always hits the spot. But let's be honest: I'm usually driving out of my way to get it, and during the workday, the commute eats into my lunch time. BCD Tofu House is always packed, and places like Yigah can be a bit too pricey for an everyday lunch. Enter this spot. For $17 before tip, I asked for mild, and they nailed it--the soup wasn't watered down, just a slight kick, with the seafood adding a nice savory depth to the broth. Now, about the banchan--wow. Normally I'm all about kimchi, radish kimchi, and a bit of fishcake, maybe a bite of the potato salad if I'm feeling adventurous. But here? I ate all five banchan clean! The seaweed salad was thinly sliced and crunchy, the broccoli imitation crab salad was a fun new addition, and the kimchi was perfectly tart and crunchy. There was also a tofu kimchi with some dry pickled fish that was salty and savory, pairing perfectly with my rice and soup. But the real highlight was an apple/radish cream salad--seriously, it reminded me of those Mexican fruit salads with walnuts. It was refreshing and sweet, the perfect end to a meal, especially during this freak heatwave!Price point - Portion - Flavor - Ambiance. As soon as you walk in, it wasn't packed so I found a seat immediately which was nice. The space has a beautiful mural of a Korean village behind the counter, and the open seating made for a relaxed vibe. The hostess was super kind and helpful, and I couldn't help but smile when I realized The Cranberries were playing in the background. Throughout my meal, I was serenaded by 90's nostalgia--Cher, Sixpence None the Richer, and even some Latin tunes. It felt like a musical time machine! Plus, the place was impeccably clean, which always scores major points in my book.Ambiance - Customer Service:I didn't catch the name of the hostess/server, but she was a gem--friendly, checked in regularly, and overall made the experience so pleasant. There's a button on the table for when you need something, but seriously, people: use it responsibly. Treat your servers well, tip generously, and act like you're in a civilized society.Customer Service - Overall, I had a pleasant experience. This place was acquired or under new management as of a year ago and they changed the name, They no longer serve sushi and have leaned into offering more Korean dishes, which I think is a smart move. It's tucked behind a bank next to Starbucks, so it's easy to miss, but trust me, it's worth seeking out. Plenty of parking and easy access make it a convenient spot for anyone craving authentic Korean food.Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back!

My new go to place for Korean comfort food. I've been here for their soft launch and they've since consolidated their menu, but the quality of food is still top notch and the portions are so generous! Here's what we got:King Donkatsu ($19.95)Must get! Honestly this may be one of the best pork katsu I've ever had. The outside was perfectly deep fried - crispy and light without being greasy and the pork is so tender on the inside! It's served with katsu sauce on the side which I don't typically use, but this one had just the right balance of flavors and wasn't too sweet.Seafood Soon Tofu ($15.95)Tofu soup that was packed with shrimps, clams, mussels, and of course tofu! It came with an egg on the side to crack into the soup. Their mild was on the spicier side, but I still enjoyed it so much because it was so flavorful and the seafood flavors really came through. The shrimps were also big, unlike those that I've had at other restaurants.Overall, everything was delicious, including the banchan! I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. The food came out fast and the staff was friendly and attentive - always making sure we had the side dishes refilled. I would 100% be back!

Jumbo portions jam-packed with flavor, so come with a giant appetite!Lunch was surprisingly empty with no wait to be seated. K-pop bops filled the space with a happy vibe - great for casual get-togethers over homey Korean food. Our jaws dropped when our food arrived. Each order was MASSIVE, perfect for sharing!Spicy Pork Bulgogi Lunch Special: A set of CA rolls, salad, fruits, veggie & shrimp tempura (hot and freshly fried), steamy heaps of rice & meat. Overall, well-balanced and oh-so-yummy!!Spicy Squid Hot-Stone Bibimbap: Sizzling hot stone. Aromatic. Good kick of heat, hearty, and delicious.Honestly, I feel like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. The cooks do not skimp out on flavor. Considering the generous amount of food, dining here comes at an exceptional value, especially the lunch specials!I truly hope that more locals find this little gem & give it a shot. I know they'll leave with a full tummy and a big smile like we did :)

Ordered the lunch special salmon combo and a beef soon tofu soup which came with sides and a rice and it was great. The food was yummy! I usually don't eat all the sides, but I liked all of them. The soup was pretty big and had great flavor. The lunch salmon combo was great as well and was surprisingly a big portion for a lunch special. The restaurant was clean, and not that busy. Plenty of parking. The server was nice and accommodating. Would definitely come back again!

What I Ordered:Spicy Pork Ribs w/ Kimchi ($41.95)Chicken Katsu Combo ($20.95)Braised Black Cod w/ Spicy Sauce ($46.95)Food:Spicy Pork Ribs w/ Kimchi or Mookeunji Dwaeji Kalbi was filled with thick pork ribs and huge kimchi pieces. I loved how authentic everything tasted, it was better than some of the Korean restaurants in Korea! Make sure to cut the kimchi into bite sized pieces because they come huge. If you find a long piece, cover a pork rib with the kimchi and have it all in one bite. Trust me. The pork meat on the rib was soft, tender, and so flavorful. The flavors were enhanced to another level with the soup base and kimchi being absorbed into the meat. With my first bite of the kimchi, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted different and better than other Korean restaurants. I got to ask the owner and he let me know that they make the kimchi IN HOUSE! Homemade kimchi tastes so much better than store bought ones, so if you want to try kimchi the way that Koreans actually eat it, you need to check this spot out. It also comes out on top of a portable stove so you can keep the food warm all night long.I also got the Chicken Katsu Dinner Combo which came with the katsu, california rolls, salad, rice, and tempura pieces. The Katsu was on the thicker end from other Korean style katsus I've had, which I loved. It comes with a Korean style Katsu sauce, which I personally prefer over the other ones! The other side dishes were good, but the one that stood out to me the most was the salad. I know, I think I'm crazy too. They have a house made blueberry salad sauce that was crazy good. The Braised Black Cod w/ Spicy Sauce or Eundaegu Jorim was also delicious. The fish was marinated well along with other ingredients such as potatoes, radish, and tofu. If you prefer fish over meats, I would recommend this dish!Staff:The staff were all friendly and quick! Servers came up to our table and other tables throughout my meal to check in, which I really appreciated.Ambiance:It's a nice cozy spot in the Cypress area. They are indoor seating only, but I did see some tables outside that they seem to share with the other restaurants. Plenty of parking all around the plaza.

First off... very easy parking. We tried the Galbitang, Yukgaejang, bulgogi bibimbap, and bulgogi. Banchan was okay. Kimchi was good, I think I could go a tad sweeter. But I'm very glad it wasn't too citrusy. The soy beans were a new thing for me. It was good, drizzled in sesame oil I believe. The rest was ok. Not the greatest Banchan I've had, but it was all right. Bulgogi was flavorful. Galbitang was good. Yukgaejang was not the greatest I've had, but it's okay. I think the pictures were a little misleading because my egg was strips of scrambled egg vs a raw one in the picture that could be mixed in. Their employees are super nice, friendly, and attentive. Restaurant itself was clean. They sat us at this table where this wooden box comes out of the wall. They should probably adjust the tables to dodge that box, because I kept knocking my shoulder on it and it kept scratching my clothes. We could've probably switched tables, but I wasn't that pressed about it.If I came back, I'd try something new. This place didn't blow me away, but the service was so nice and quick that I'll give it a 4.

I'm glad we finally gave this place a try. Will definitely be back! Came here on my lunch break on a Monday. Food took a bit longer than expected but thats okay. Just be prepared if you're in a rush. I loveeee Korean food. My husband isn't as crazy as me so it was nice to see all the lunch plate options for him. Lol. I really enjoyed my seafood yukgaejang. Noodles were a bit over cooked but the broth was amazing and there was a generous amount of seafood. Portions were pretty big. Banchans were good. I loved the food a lot and was savoring every bite! The one drawback was there were lotsss of broken clam shells in my soup. Especially towards the end. Some were visible to pick out but some were small. My teeth is still in pain from straight up biting a shell in half. :( But other than that I'd definitely come back!
