I had the best server. She said she had been there for 12 years. She knew the menu, had answers for every question I had. Sadly I forgot her name, but she knows who she is. For a holiday they were quick and had great service. The bussers picking up the plates were well trained and were very personable. The Salad bar was top notch. I even had a manager stop by and offerer me extras. It had been almost a decade since I came, but I can assure you it won't be that long before I come again.Thank you folks for everything.

Came here with friends for a bachelorette lunch. This place is a hideaway in the middle of the city. Driving up the hill, there is a view (albeit of the freeway) and a large parking lot. You go down stairs into the restaurant and check in with the hostess. There are lots of big parties there TVs with sports on. Lots of big parties are there too. This place can host weddings/events.We came for the brunch buffet and there was an impressive spread. There was a carving station, eggs Benedict station, waffle, omelette station. There's a section for Mexican bfast with chilaquiles and salsas. Then there's American breakfast food like scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, crepes (though weirdly rolled and steamed to a mush together), rice pilaf, blanched veges. There is also menudo, seafood, basic salad bar. Sounds impressive! Tastes ok. Great for events. What makes it worth it is the unlimited champagne. You get your own juice for mimosas (they have orange and cranberry). It was also hard to flag down a server for water refills

It's been a month since friends took Hubby and me to dinner for my b-day. It was such a comedy of errors that I made a list so that I'd be able to write this review... When you arrive, you walk down a flight of stairs to get to the hostess stand. (There's probably an elevator, but I didn't notice.) To speak with her, you have to stand in the hallway, immediately in front of the foot of the stairs, so that you're in the way of anyone who needs to go upstairs or walk back and forth in front of the stand. The table wasn't ready, so we were sent to the poorly lit awkwardly shaped bar area to wait, where there were no chairs, even though a large round table (which would have sat ~8 people) was open. Thankfully, they seated us pretty quickly, in a harshly lit horseshoe shaped booth, facing the large picture windows. We were in the middle of 3 such booths, with 3 tables and chairs against the glass. All 6 tables were in a "dead end" - we all had to enter and leave from the same place, as there was a wall at the end of the section. (This also means that all night long we were unable to "grab" a server that was passing by. Ours had all 6 tables.)She came to take our order. Hubby asked what they had on draught, and she said there were 3 beers, but didn't know which. So he ordered a martini, up, very dry, with onions. They didn't have those, so he said, "Fine, throw a couple of olives in." She asked "Dirty?" Which seemed odd to me. (People who want dirty martinis order that way.) We finished ordering drinks and meals. "B" got the Prime Rib with Scallops and "K" the Ribyeye, rare and Hubby and I both got the filet mignon, medium ("The Miner's Filly") his with bleu cheese, and mine Oscar. The waitress said that she'd be back with their "cheese bread" and plates and that we could help ourselves to the salad bar, with no instructions.Be careful, or you might miss that the salad "plates" (gross, small, thin, rough, lightweight, metal "gold panning" pans) are in a cooler outside of the hallway where the salad bar sits. (Yes, another hallway.) Soup bowls and spoons are at the end of the bar, under the soup.We got back to the table and she delivered the cheese bread (but no plates). Sliced white bread with cheese melted on top. (Not cheesy garlic bread. Not TX toast...) Eventually, she brought the plates. After a bit, the food came, even though there were gold pans, soup bowls and bread plates on the table. So we had to do the "I'll pick something up and hold it in the air so that you can set my food down and then you take the plate from me before setting something else down" game. Once we got it all, our server did not come back by to check on us. See photos. K's ribeye was sad and gray, and completely uncooked in the middle (the orange stuff on top was their "herbed compound butter" which was actually some sort of pimento butter. Yuck.) My steak was properly cooked, almost over. But Hubby's was under. Eventually, she came back, and took the steaks to have them refired. And plating was lackluster. B's scallops were served in one of those 3.5" flat bowls that Cracker Barrel puts side dishes in.Once we got the steaks back, were in need of drink refills, (which we had asked for previously, but did not get. We had also tried to get her attention when she was helping other tables, but couldn't get it.) The server took our glasses, repeating to herself, "Sprite...Tea...Sprite...Tea..." as she walked away. Not comforting...We got through dinner, and wanted to order dessert... When she finally came back over, she brought the check, without asking. We ordered 2 bread puddings. B asked if they had decaf... NOPE. (What?!?) Hubby ordered regular. And K asked for a box. Hubby's coffee came, and K asked for a box, again.Dessert took a while, and K went to the bathroom, and grabbed her own box from a bus station on her way back. (The one she asked for never came.)Server finally came with dessert, asked if we'd already received it (what?!?) and didn't bring silverware... so we asked. She came back with 2 spoons (for the 4 of us) and, once again, we needed refills, so we asked for refills and more silverware. The silverware came, but the refills... At least the bread pudding was good, and we only should've ordered one, it was so big.Sorry, TMI: Lastly, the moment that Hubby and I got home (about 20 min away) we both had minor GI issues... thankfully, B & K didn't.SUMMARY: it's weird when you walk in, the bar and its offerings are weird (compared to the high end menu, which they should really simplify to match the venue, like TX Roadhouse), the cheese bread is weird, having a salad bar in a hallway in a high end steakhouse is weird, steaks are cooked inconsistently, food plating is lackluster, and dessert timing is bad... but tasty. If you want to go for the view, eat someplace else, and then go for dessert (as long as you don't want decaf.)

Perfect for date night! Anywhere you sit in the restaurant you have a great view. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant is kid friendly as well. We sat in the middle of the restaurant with a beautiful view. Our food was delicious! No complaints whatsoever definitely will be coming back.

The views are so pretty! I've been here many times and the food is typically pretty good. I got the fillet and prime rib. All entrées come with the soup and salad bar. I wish they had more options when it came to soup. They only had a few. I would definitely like to see more variety. They have a good size bar to have a cocktail while you wait to get sat. Definitely recommend requesting to sit by a window the views of the city are really pretty it's definitely perfect for celebrating something or going out with friends or date night.

I used to come here very frequently; this was one of my family's favorite go-to spots. We even hosted a 100+ person family gathering two years back. I called in advance yesterday, told them if they didn't have room it was fine because today was my mother's birthday and that was very important. They said there was room and let us in. We came in a minutes late today since the parking took awhile (it was paid valet only because of a private event that we weren't told about). Our reservation got cancelled and without an apology the hostess blamed us for being late. We asked for an approx. time and they said it could be half an hour, an hour we don't know. They had overbooked our time slot by about 20 parties. We waited about half an hour before we left since they didn't seem to care to give anyone replies and just had everyone waiting. Then, valet charged $8 for the time we were waiting since they had nothing to do with the restaurant's mistake. I loved the food at this place but the service and messiness of this place was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Come here if you're looking to get insulted by the receptionist and then be in for an hour long standing wait for food you can get at any other steakhouse. Will not be coming back without good reason.

We almost let all the recent bad reviews scare us off. I'm so glad we didn't. My boyfriend made reservations for us for our anniversary on 2/19/2025 for 7pm. We arrived around 6:55 and were told there were no tables ready. Of course after reading the reviews of how reservations are here, I was annoyed. But we went to the bar and got to enjoy the beautiful view while we waited. We got called to be seated around 7:25 and they apologized for the wait and let us know they wanted to get us a nice table with a view. Our waitress was nice and let us know about the salad bar. Everything was so good. Again, we were worried because of all the bad reviews but we loved everything about our dinner and night there. It is a themed restaurant, I read reviews about it being dirty and old. It's a miners theme, we loved it! We will definitely be back!

Well the night didn't start off good. You have to pay for $10 for parking even if you park yourself. I would have left if I wasn't meeting another couple. They charge you to spend your money here. Never again will I came back regardless of the quality of the food

I recently ordered gift cards for xmas gifts on Dec 20th 2024. I was charged on my credit card but never received the cards. I called every day but Monday and Tuesday because they are closed. I left message after message and no call back for weeks. I finally called my credit card company and they referred me to PayPal. I called them and they said they would either credit my acct o send me gift cards. I finally received cards in the mail on January 15th. A little late for xmas. I received no call from the manager or supervisor or ANYONE when I left a message and my number. Bad customer service. DON NOT ORDER GIFT CARDS FROM THEM!
