If you're on the hunt for a fantastic brunch spot, look no further than Poached. From the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the incredible food, this place absolutely delivers. We started with a latte, beautifully crafted with perfect foam and a delicate heart design. It was smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness--exactly what you want to start your brunch experience. For the main dishes, we went all out. The chilaquiles were a standout, with crispy tortilla chips smothered in a flavorful sauce, topped with a perfectly cooked egg, creamy avocado, and tender, juicy steak. Every bite was a mix of crunch, spice, and creaminess--absolute perfection.Next up was the fried chicken sandwich, served on a toasted sesame bun with crispy, golden-brown chicken, crunchy slaw, and pickles, alongside a side of thin, crispy fries. The chicken was incredibly juicy with just the right amount of seasoning and crunch. And of course, we had to try something sweet, so we went for the waffles--fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside, dusted with powdered sugar, drizzled with caramel, and served with a scoop of whipped butter. The syrup on the side was a nice touch, but honestly, they were already perfect on their own.Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly despite the busy brunch crowd. If you're looking for a new go-to brunch spot, Poached should be at the top of your list. Can't wait to come back and try more!Must-Try: Chilaquiles with steak and the waffles!

I began dining at their Irvine location and was thrilled to discover they had opened another branch in Downey. The wait is always long on weekends--you line up, order at the counter, and then find a seat in the large outdoor seating area. However, during my last visit, it was raining, so no one sat outside since the area isn't covered. The food is always delicious; my favorite dish has always been the Chili Verde Eggs Benedict. However, on my last visit, I opted for the classic waffle. It wasn't as dense as I expected, but it was still great. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is so good that I almost wanted to order a second glass. The service is always good, but my only complaint is that the indoor seating area can be a bit too noisy and a bit cold because the door was open

Enjoyed my morning breakfast here at Poached. You order when u walk in and sit anywhere you like (nice indoor/outdoor seating). Food was tasty and plentiful. Just like alot of places these days everything is an extra with extra $ so you could easily run your bill up. Service was nice but multiple patrons had to cue staff for more coffee refills.

The plating of the food is beautiful. I wish I had taken a picture of all our plates before we started to eat. Unfortunately the taste is not quite there. Service sucked, but it is set up that you order immediately and then sit down at a table they direct you to. So it wouldn't be surprising if they don't get tipped by many people. For food: The chai latte tastes like a chai tea bag with a splash of milk. I put some sugar in, but that did not help. I do not like chai tea, I like American chai lattes. My husband said the lemon ricotta was really good, the blueberry sauce and pancake were not. My daughter did eat her bacon and almost all of her French toast dipping it in the lemon ricotta sauce. For the classic egg Benedict the egg was poached well, hollandaise sauce was okay, hash browns tasted like butter. The bottomless drip coffee did not get a single refill. The chile verde omelette with house potatoes was good. I enjoyed the peppers in it.

One of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had was from this restaurant! I was in town visiting a friend when I stumbled upon this restaurant on Yelp. I came on a Saturday morning at around 9/10AM. The line to order was long but went by fast. You order your food then are seated either indoor or outdoor. There was plenty of seating so we were sat right after we ordered. They bring your food to your table. It did take a while to get our food but it was well worth the wait. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and wow! Perfect ratio of potato to egg and chorizo. The aioli sauce that they put in there is addicting and makes it stand out from any other breakfast burrito I've ever had. The sauce on the side was also tasty, just wish it was a little more spicy. I ordered a lavender latte and that was tasty as well. Overall a great experience and I'm glad I chose this spot! I'll be back the next time I'm in town to try the chilaquiles next.

Food was ok, it's tasty but I felt it to be overpriced. The service was 5/5; friendly staff, we were sat down quickly and food came out quick too. It was busy & lively inside so we opted to sit outdoors. There is plenty of outdoor shaded seating.

Sooo good!! We got the chicken and waffles and upgraded the waffles for three extra dollars and got the gingerbread waffle. Honestly, it did not taste any different, but it was so delicious! It was the perfect chew to the waffle, and nice little crispies on the outside. However, the chicken was chicken breast and pretty dry. I got the Chilaquiles, and asked for everything to be separated because I don't like soggy chips. I liked it!

Food was delicious, came here for a birthday brunch with the wife. I got the breakfast burrito and it was so good. Wifey got the chicken and waffles also 10/10. Service was good, ambience was a bit loud but that's to be expected on a busy morning.

Orange juice always hits.Usually get the chilaquiles verdes but was craving something different. The huevos rancheros did not disappoint.Service is always on point.Ambiance is that of your typical brunch spot, music playing, a lot of people talking.
