This place been in the area for over 30 years. I've been here a few times and first time in over five years. This place is consistent in what they offer. A simple menu and offer them well. The owner is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food, their signature dry noodles. I had them do a mixture of half egg noodles and half clear noodles. It comes with a bowl of soup on the side and a bowl of tomato based sauce to pour over the noodles. It was very flavorful and comes with abundant of vegetables on the side. What I ordered was call Hu Tieu Mi Tho. 1/2 hu tieu and 1/2 mi.Highly recommend this place.

Humble little spot for some great homestyle Vietnamese food. Their specialty is hu thieu which can get difficult to find a good bowl around in OC surprisingly. The service is okay and the cleanliness of the whole restaurant (there's items just being stored all over the place) is also okay, although you're not really there for those things.Come in without too much expectations except for a pretty solid bowl of hu thieu and you won't be disappointed.

Had the clear glass noodles, dry style (broth & sauce on the side). It's the #2 on the menu. It was good. I requested lean meat, no fat, and they followed instructions!Only thing was missing was the ground pork. I believe the real authentic dish comes with everything they serve here, plus the ground pork.

Drove by and by curiosity since it has been here for over 3 decades (I believed). The place is spacious and cleaned plus the services are very friendly but abit of disappointment of the foods. It tasteless and no favor even for basic fish sauce. I couldn't even finished the foods. The server was very nice so I gave a 3 stars instead of 2...at least I checked it out.

I got the #1 My Tho Noodles. You can get it with the clear chewy noodles or the white soft noodles or half and half. I always get the #1 dry with the chewy noodles. Sauce and soup is given on the side. My never-fail order. This dish is a one of a kind and I only get this dish from this restaurant because I don't see this noodle dish with this specific sauce anywhere else! It's pretty rare. It's a tomato base sauce that's tangy, savory, and delectable. They give you so much meat toppings and plumped shrimps. No complaints other then they need to put some kind of music on so we don't hear people slurping on their noods.Service is straight forward. You tell them what you want and it comes out. If you need anything you just give them a call.First, I pour the sauce on top then add in the crown daisy veggies and bean sprouts, squeeze that lime in, add picked jalapeños and garlic from the table condiment jar and enjoy the side soup on the side with some black pepper. 10/10

Wonderful and cordial service received by the owner w thoughtful explanations of the menu varieties. The heaping serving of veggies perfectly complimented the dry hu tieu My Tho and Nam Vang. The sauce for the My Tho was a little bit sweet for my taste but my MIL loved it. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated for the holidays.

Service was lacking, and it was not due to language barrier because my group knows Vietnamese. No itemized receipt and total came out to exactly $33.00 cash for 2 bowls, which means the transation didn't happen, which is likely because they want to evade taxes. Food was not bad to be honest, but there are many better places within a 10 minute drive. I'm writing this review because I regret tipping so much :(

I haven't been back to Phuong in over a decade, but it was nice to see that not much has changed--aside from a little remodeling. Honestly, it's kind of refreshing that they've kept the same vibe. What stood out to me was the owner, who greeted us with a lot of respect--something that's surprisingly rare around the Bolsa area these days! That kind of hospitality was a nice touch.I ordered the Hu Tieu My Tho, which came with thin, chewy noodles, a tomato-based sauce, seafood, and soup. I poured everything together, and the dish turned out pretty good. There were bits of dried shrimp in the mix, which added a nice touch of umami. The flavors were solid, and if you need a little extra seasoning, there's some available on the table to adjust it to your taste.Overall, the food was fine--pretty much the same as I remember from the past. It's not a groundbreaking meal, but it's good comfort food if you're in the area and craving something familiar. Definitely a reliable spot, even after all these years. There pickled garlic and jalepeno are to die for.
