Pepe's Mexican Food

Been here a few times, the first thing I tried here are their amazing crunchy chicken tacos. But I tried the other location off State college I believe. So delicious they are filled with so much shredded chicken, lettuce and cheese. It's a bit oily but the crunch on the shell is the best. Today got a Chicken Tostada Salad, the Tostada shell was crunchy airy and fun to eat, the chicken is shredded like I like with lettuce, tomatoes and pico. The bottom had beans and rice, the shell was delicious to scoop up all the salad parts with and eat together with salsa. Sort of thought it would come with dressing but it didn't that's ok the green salsa made it delicious. It's not my go to Mexican food choice but I do enjoy their crunchy tacos and tostadas. They are pretty nice here as well the lines for the drive through can be super long sometimes too and smaller parking lot. Would recommend trying this place, not a fan of tomatoes honestly and asked to not have any on there but there was a lot it's ok though still ate it lol. My wife and I drove through and picked up a couple of breakfast burritos. Mine had sausage and my wife's was with bacon. They were both fantastic.I enjoy their green sauce and my life enjoys the red sauce. For the quality and Size of the burritos, we felt they were reasonably priced.We also enjoy their Chile Relleno burritos.

The 1 star is for the pricing of the Pepe's breakfast burrito. Plus $4.50 just to add chorizo and no potatoes. Total came out to $17.50. Ridiculous. And forgot the beans. After requesting a cup of beans and making my own burrito, it came out good. Red salsa has a good kick to it.

Had a great experience here recently. Drove thru to pick up a quick dinner. This place is one of my family's favorites. Ordered a breakfast burrito with potatoes, eggs, cheese, and bacon only, and a beef taquito plate. Of course, the price seemed steep as at most fast casual places these days. But, the speed of the service was almost unbelievable, and the taste was wonderful. This is what keeps us coming back all these years. This location has a sign in the pick up window stating it would be an extra charge to use a credit card, so I was glad I had enough cash. I hate paying those fees.

Food quality was good, size of their breakfast burrito was gigantic costed $15. Not sure if I would crave it though. Service was huge miss. Ambiance was terrible; old dirty/sticky tables, moo bucket visible (gross), restroom stink and were dirty.

When I say that I have dreamt of the nachos at Pepe's in Brea, California @pepesmexicanfood I am being perfectly serious. This is on the top five list of comfort food stops when we need some good nachos, taquitos, and burritos. Don't forget to add in the giant Orange Bang (I gotta get it). This location also has a drive-through so it is even more convenient to grab our favorites when in town.We all get the Nachos with no meat. Just order "Large Nacho". You don't need meat because these nachos come with a spicy green chili pork sauce poured on top. Combine that with the heaping portion of delicious guacamole and melting real cheese and it doesn't get any better. I love dipping the crispy chips in the sauce. I just found out my son loves the soggy chips so he lets them sit for a bit and devours the bottom chips. Whatever your preference you'll be happy because this is a huge portion of yummy. Hubs and my daughter love the taquitos and burritos. We were so full after this lunch, that we were fine the rest of the day, and didn't even need dinner. Service here is always very friendly and helpful. There are two gender-neutral, restrooms available inside. There is a large shaded patio area for dining and several booths and tables inside as well. The tables and eating areas are always kept so clean and are decorated seasonally with plants and condiments. (It's Cali, Babies - Not a drop of Queso in sight & so many citrus and avocado trees )

This Place is a disgrace, careless employees. Very low standards. I bought nachos last night, red sauce and beans. Looked like a drunk vomited in the box. So disgusting And very poor quality ingredients and frankly, gross to say the very least. I wasted my money on this garbage. My dad wanted a burrito and I went to buy it for him today. I drop it off at home so he could eat. When I got home he told me there was tissue paper inside And that he felt sick to his stomach. I don't blame him, it could have been a fn tissue some worker blew his/her nose with. How disgusting. I'm appalled by the lack of professionalism and pride when it comes to preparing food. Honestly, the cooks are doing a disservice to this business and they don't represent, I'm sure, the "quality" of all Pepe's. Please, please fix this. Otherwise, I'm filling a complaint for the grotesque findings in my dad's burrito.

Valentine's '24 at lunch, Pepe's was busy. Granted I'm not in the neighborhood on weekdays but there were a lot of cars parked and the people were inside eating lunch. I recommend sitting in the northern part of the dining room. I was super warm in the southern booth exposed to the hot afternoon sun. I ordered the bean and cheese burrito, one of my favorite items here. Usually I am heating it up as a leftover that I bring home. The burrito was hot, the beans were runny not solidified as if I was eating a lukewarm leftover. I have to admit that I like the leftover version much better, lol. I asked for two cups of green salsa but I only needed one. My bad, next time I won't ask for the extra cup. My burrito was $6.99, well worth the price as there was only beans and cheese inside and larger than others that I've tried. See you again Pepe's.

Beef in the California burrito was really chewy and tasted "off" tonight. I ate about half and spit out the bad tasting meat until I just decided to toss the rest of the burrito out. Not worth getting sick over. I've had plenty of California burritos here without issue so hoping this is just a one-off. Prob won't be back for a while.

Food was very good the taquitos and potato taco was some of the best we've had so far. The customer service was amazing, very helpful with the menu. The restaurant was very clean and the Christmas decorations were nice.
